Hello.

My game was working fine until a few days ago, but now, at the end of the loading screen to get to the story mode, I get an message saying LSPDFR has crashed, while other plugins I have, such as Cop Holster, EUP Menu, Sticky Wheels etc. all loads correctly.

Reloading LSPDFR through the RPH Console doesn't work either: it will crash and show on the bottom right of the screen a "loading LSPDFR" icon spinning endlessly.

 

Also, don't know if it's related or not, but when my character is loading into the map, after LSPDFR has already crashed, I can see my custom LSPDFR character with green hair (?) for like 1 second, before the games loads me as Michael. It never did that.

Moreover, I was bored because LSPDFR didn't work so I started a shootout and noticed that all the cops showed up with the same car and some cops had a weird uniform: I installed a bit ago LAPD ai peds, which have the standard black top with a black tie, green taser, LAPD badge etc. As I was saying, some cops don't have the tie or the badge, while some do. This is weird because I always saw them with the same uniform.

Again, I don't know if this is related to the problem, but I just noticed these 2 things that are out of the ordinary, and maybe they could help you.

 

I'm not an expert, but looking at the RPH log, 2 things caught my attention:

UNHANDLED EXCEPTION DURING GAME FIBER TICK

and

 

Exception type: System.UnauthorizedAccessException

Exception message: Access to the path 'D:\Program Files\Epic Games\GTAV\lspdfr\patterns.tmp' is denied.

 

For the 2nd error, I've looked at that path, but I don't have a "patterns.tmp" file, I have "patterns.dat". Does it mean something?

 

I have the latest version of GTA V (1.0.2060.1) and RagePluginHook (1.81.1410.16064).

Also, reading on other topics about this problem, I've tried to:

• rename the "mods" folder to "_mods" and launch the game
• disable/create an exception for GTA V on my antivirus and firewall
• set my RPH timeout threshold to 60000
• reinstall LSPDFR

None of them solved my problem.

This error is caused by failed or wrong permissions. It usually stems from your Antivirus; f.ex Norton, McAfee, AVG etc., but can also be caused by Microsoft Windows Defender.

In order to fix this issue, please follow the steps below:

The easiest fix would include adding your Grand Theft Auto V folder to your Antivirus exceptions. If you are unsure on how to do so, please Google your Antiviruses exceptions settings.

 

Sometimes your Antivirus is not the problem but your actual user permissions are.
In this case, you need to adjust folder ownership & permissions for each other manually.
There are multiple ways to do so;

 

First of, right click your Grand Theft Auto V folder → Properties → Security.

In there you will see your user, SYSTEM and the Administrator group.
For this issue, you will have to change primarily those three permissions.

 

 

It will look something like the screenshot shown above. 

Click on SYSTEM, Administrators & your User and make sure they each have ALL checkmarks, as shown above.
Once edited, click “Apply”.

 

Now press the “Advanced” button right below the checkmarks list. 

This list will be presented to you:

 

First of all, look at the very top of the new window. The user name here is blacked out. 
Please validate that it is YOUR USER at that spot or your laptop’s name. 
If it is something else, change the Owner via Administrator rights.

 

Press OK, then launch RagePluginHook. Load LSPD:First Response.

My permissions were already set as you showed me. I've also tried launching the game with my antivirus completely turned off. It still doesn't work.

Did you set your folder ownership to your User? Or was it already set?

 

It was already set. I'm the only user on the PC.

 

I've noticed that in the security tab, It won't let me put a checkmark in the last voice "Special Authorizations" as you can see from the picture. Is it supposed to be like that?

 

(You can't see it from the picture, but I have all checkmarks in SYSTEM, Administration and my user except for the last one "Special Authorizations")

Make sure the same thing goes for the /LSPDFR folder.
