Highway Patrol Slots (Solved)

Featured Replies

So I installed this using the oiv installer:
https://www.lcpdfr.com/downloads/gta5mods/datafile/28385-pullover-fix-highway-patrol-slots-have-your-own-hp-slots/

But no vehicles appear in game when I try to spawn it saying model unkown, so I want to put these vehicles below in the highway patrol slots spots from above, tried but no luck (same message):

https://www.lcpdfr.com/downloads/gta5mods/vehiclemodels/12322-2016-california-highway-patrol-megapack/

Is there a video for doing such, can’t seem to find one pertaining to this type of situation?

The game even with the extra slot mod the game will only spawn regular units. I've come across a few "extra slot" mods out there. Personally I've never been able to get any of them to work. A work around to achieve the same thing (in a way) is Ultimate Backup. It works for DLC cars. Enter the ID of your Highway Cars into the XML to respond as pursuit and traffic stop backup and you've  got your normal patrol cars roaming and special units that respond to your calls.

I use regular "Local" units but Highway Patrol State Troopers as "State" backup.

New modder, I plan to learn how to be a good one.

It is possible to add them to ambient, stations etc, this is done in the either agency.xml or regions.xml - Can't say for sure which one it is, but it's either one of those, there you can adjust all agencies and their functions as well as which vehicles are assigned to that specific agency + spawn as ambient etc, as well as the native backup system can be changed with responding units there as well.

As for extra slots, I used:

This works very well, however keep in mind per default addon vehicles will not spawn in traffic by vanilla GTA V, it is possible yes, but requires you to edit the popgroups.ymt file to add the addon vehicles to traffic.

NB! Do NOT DM me directly asking for help, doing so will result in ignore. - If you need help, use the forums, just like anybody else 😉

Very good advice there. I actually forgot about the Regions and Agency XMLs. Time to tweak my own game 😄

I have heavily modified my own game, however when the time came around where I was done adjusting, the update hit... So yeah, I'm pending the trial of my modifications until RPH and SHV is updated 😢

Let me know if you need any help, might as well lend a hand when I can't play 😄

Is there something stopping you from reverting your game version? Mine works fine.

The highway patrol slots I can see added it to my dlc list, backup, and the agency file, but when I go to spawn the model in game it says it does not know it and then say has with bunch of numbers behind it. What I really think is happening is that I haven’t installed the vehicles new vehicles properly to the new slots, I renamed it to the designated slot names, but no luck.

Yeah, been busy last few days, which means that it ran the auto-update, clearly forgot to shutdown the Rockstar Launcher, which sucks, but lesson learned, next time I gotta stay vigilant so I can backup the old archives in time before shit hits the fan. Nevertheless this gives me time to work on my OIV Environmental Enhancement / Realism package primarily for LSPDFR, however it can be used without LSPDFR, but most optimizations and improvements are based around the overall LSPDFR experience - Psyched about this one! 😉

Interesting, instead of using the mod for more highway slots, could you try with the one I linked, I've never had any issues with that, just pop in the files and go to the RPH console and spawn them from there.

Have you tried Jurisdictions+

There's soooooo many more ways to add custom departments and where they patrol. I forgot I used it, it's literally that integral to my game.

I'm looking to have them ambient spawn, not just spawn them in for myself, will yours do that?

I haven't I feel like i've looked at it before in my earlier days and it seemed somewhat complicated to do, how was it for you to set up?

Edit: Looking at it now, I don't see highway patrol listed on the map, which is my goal

As long as the error codes comes up in RPH console when trying to spawn them it won't matter at all, they cannot spawn and you did something wrong since they aren't working, they must be able to be spawned from RPH console in order for them to spawn ambiently.

Exactly, which is why i'm wondering if anyone has a video or something that addresses adding new vehicles to new slots. Right now I have dlclist loading the new vehicles "chp" and it is also listed in my agency and backup files. But what would cause them not to spawn in game? My current location is Mods>Update>x64>dlcpacks (Where my other vehicles are in their own folders)>chp.

Edit: Just noticed the handling.meta is empty, would that cause it not to spawn?

Everything fully works now, thanks!

1. The audio hashes for some vehicles were blank or named something like "bravado" and not a police slot name.

2. You can add all of them to patrol if you go to LSPDFR>data>agency.xml and copy the existing "highway2" line you'll see in the file below it and change it to "highwayx" (x Being the number highway car you want to use)

3. Some vehicles just say to use the default vehicle.meta for the sheriff slot for example, but if installing it as a dlc pack like me there is a file in the folders for replacing instead of adding on that you can copy and paste it from since it isn’t supplied in the path you’re meant to take for add ons
