Changing the police cars that the AI drive

Featured Replies

Hello I was wondering if you could help me. I am new to lspdfr and i have successfully installed it. I also installed some custom police car mods that I am able to spawn in using the f4 key and then typing the command. Whenever i call for backup or am just driving around, I notice the AI officers are in the generic GTA V police cars. How do I change their cars to the modded ones I have installed?

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out and tell me how.

Many thanks, Matt

I assume the police car mods you installed are add-ons, these cars won't spawn in traffic or backups.

You'll have to replace the default police vehicles, you will need OpenIV to do that. The path (where the vehicles are installed) is different, depends on which car mods you downloaded. Follow the instruction in "Readme" and you should be able to replace the default vehicles.

I use vehicle mod packs not add-ons ( i dont know which is which i just saw the title said it was a pack). i managed to replace the police 3.ytd/ytd and the two other _ytf or whatever it is and it worked. However i am unable to locate the police1, police 2 and sherrif1 and sherrif2 vehicle rpf. Please could you tell me the route?

I just went through this and you can do it, pretty easy if the cars are already installed. Go LSPDFR>data>agency.xml and edit it. You can copy and paste the name of the vehicle(s) you want ai to patrol/respond for backup in for each agency.

Here's how mine looks for example for LSPD:

<Name>Patrol Unit</Name>
            <Vehicles>
                <Vehicle>police</Vehicle>
                <Vehicle>police2</Vehicle>
                <Vehicle>police3</Vehicle>
                <Vehicle>police4</Vehicle>
                <Vehicle>police5</Vehicle>
                <Vehicle>police6</Vehicle>
                <Vehicle>police7</Vehicle>

No problem, I had the issue myself and surprisingly didn't find too much other than people saying just to get Jurisdictions+. Glad I could help!
