Recently my GTA 5 just decided to start stuttering whenever I am driving or moving around the city fast i.e. Menyoo camera. This has made the game virtually unplayable, let alone with the LSPDFR mod. It's driving me absolutely mad! What the hell has happened? It was working fine a few days ago and I don't recall installing anything new to my game or changing any settings.

 

So far, after searching many guides on the internet (to no success) I have 

- Enabled/disabled VSync

- Disabled firewall

- Taken out RAGE, ASI and ScriptHook V plugins

- Restarted my PC

- Installed and reinstalled my drivers

- Verified local game cache

- Tried without a mods folder

- Restored settings to default

- Reduced settings to minimum

- Run without full screen adjustments in the GTA5.exe

- Disabled windows control flow guard

 

Absolutely pathetic! Anyone have some (helpful) ideas on what else to try?

 

Please, no nonsense answers like "don't use mods" or "lspdfr/gta 5 is a resource hungry game" since it was working absolutely fine with them before this happened!

What Plugins are you using? I know of a few reasons why the game might be lagging, so pardon me while I go down my list.

Hi, I have tried it without RAGE or any plugins and still get the stuttering 😂

Could ya perhaps screenshot your Main Directory? Seems kinda weird that you are still getting stuttering...especially since you reinstalled your drivers...

Hope this is good, had to do horizontal as wide screen

Excuse me, but that is a lot for one folder. 

I can see outdated memory adjusters, outdated Plugins, multiple ModLoader / Modmanager; and scripts that are known to cause issues.

May it be performance or otherwise, but certainly outdated or forgotten.

 

I know you will say "no" when I'll tell you to clean it up.

So, I recommend trying a non-modded vanilla copy, put the most needed stuff in (Please no SHV or SHVdotnet scripts) and see how your game is doing. 

I tried the above, and found the culprit. It's vfs.dll from Lenny's Mod Loader 😡 which is strange because it was working fine a few days ago. Took it out and the game ran smoothly. But LML won't work without it; police tape mod won't load...

What are do you have installed via LML?

Is it possible that you can install that without using LML?

I don't think so? If I remove vfs.dll, the script has an error when I load via RAGE saying the files required haven't been installed properly

Unfortunately, after asking around, there isnt anything that cant make it stop lag. Im sure you know this, but it is supposed to shut itself down after loading the mods you need. If that genuinely was the issue, Im not exactly sure of a workaround.
