I just wanted to ask:

 

- Does the latest version of LSPDFR as of 14th May 2020 work with the Epic Games Launcher of Grand Theft Auto V?

           - Does the latest version of Rage Plugin Hook work with the Epic Games Launcher version of GTAV too?

 

 

I've been a longtime fan of LSPDFR and all of the plugins you can put on it, but being a console gamer and only being stuck with an i3 2.5ghz laptop with 8GB RAM but a terrible graphics card, I've never been able to play LSPDFR. Now that I have it for free from the Epic Games Launcher, I found out it can actually run on my laptop albeit with poor graphics. Will LSPDFR run on this launcher version as of now or do I have to wait for a patch for both LSPDFR and/or RAGE to be made available to support the epic games GTA?

It just came out today, right? Why don't you try it and see?

I've not looked into it at all -- but if it doesn't work, then you will have to wait if/when a patch is released.

As of right now, the answer to both your questions is a resounding no. I'm not an expert in GTA modding by any means, but it seems the scripthook is blocked by the Rockstar launcher and that patching will be necessary in order to mod the EGS copy of GTAV.

I was curious about this as well, so I installed the free copy of GTAV and ran it vanilla. Played it until I completed the tutorial mission, it ran fine. Installed LSPDFR, the RAGE hook, scripthook and a variety of other mods. It wouldn't launch. Reinstalled it, tried it with only LSPDFR + the RAGE hook. Still wouldn't launch.

Launching it through the RAGE hook brings forward the Rockstar launcher, which asks you to launch it through Epic, and launching it through Epic gives you a RAGE hook error.

 

 

@ SpecialAgentRed concordo con te, ho provato in tutti i modi ma una volta che avvi il gioco da rage plug-in ti manda da giochi rockstar per giocare il gioco, poi ti va su epic games. Ci mette un po, con la scritta esecuzione e viene rilascito l'errore LS-0018.

I've tried it, and it doesn't work. Which is really annoying.

 

Hopefully there is a work around

doesnt work for me either. I can't even find the game directory to put the rage hook installer in. I can't find the actual file path of the GTA.exe because epic games launches it from online or some shit.

Press run in Epic then quickly open rage hook. Works for me

 

As for the location, it asks you before you installed it. I changed it to my other drive.

It just gets stuck on "launching game..."

I hope it will work in closest time.

Run the game on the Epic ou just open the launcher?

For the meantime, I might uninstall my mods and keep them on my desktop for until a patch has been rolled out. The vanilla game worked fine, and even the basic LSPDFR worked for me, but as soon as I install other things, GTA V doesn’t even open.

Yeah I've just found that the version of Script hook is outdated compared to the Epic Games GTA V file. So I guess we'll have to wait for an update. 

 

If you just have LSPDFR loaded that works. Which is still fun for me, as it's my first time trying this out.

Yea, I would like to know too, as I really want to play LSPDFR, can someone explain everything, is it possible, or not really? 

After messing around with the EGS copy of GTA V, I'm happy to confirm that yes -- you can in fact play LSPDFR on it! But only LSPDFR.

 

Step by step guide:

Spoiler

 

1. Ensure your install is clean and 100% vanilla, no mods.

2. Install only LSPDFR and its dependencies. Do NOT install the Scripthook, as it is not compatible with the EGS copy and will block launching.

3. Open RAGEPluginHook.exe and ensure the LSPDFR plugin is set to be loaded on startup.

4. When ready, launch GTA V only through your Epic library. Don't use any shortcuts such as the executable itself or RAGEHook.

5. Wait for the game to launch.

6. Once you hear the sirens, quickly switch to the game's directory and open RAGEPluginHook.exe

7. Your game instance will be hooked shortly thereafter, and you'll load into story mode/LSPDFR.

 

 

Enjoy bringing justice to the streets of LS!

Please note that until the scripthook/RAGE plugin is patched, you'll have to repeat steps 4-6 every time you want to play.

This way can be useful, but this is too much work, and if I would have to do it every time I would like to play LSPDFR then oof.

I just want to have clear answer from developers, it will be supported, or no?

 

I tried what you said and now the game won't launch at all. It's vanilla, just downloaded it today and launched it base and also downloaded rage plugin hook and set it to load lspdfr on start but when i launch on epic, it launches but i get a white screen and it becomes unresponsive and crashes. This didn't happen with the base game so did i do something wrong?

 

Edit: I did NOT install ScriptHook or any trainers. Just LSPD:FR and the updated version of RagePluginHook.

1) Launch GTA 5 from the Epic Games Launcher.

2) Wait for it to load into Story Mode.

3) Open your explorer and go into C:\Program Files\Epic Games\GTAV, which is the default installation for Epic Games.

4) Scroll down until I see RAGEPluginHook.exe.

5) Open RAGEPluginHook.exe and you might get the settings windows.

6) If you don't get the settings screen, then it will automatically hook into your current game.

7) If you do get the settings screen, click the "Save and Launch" Button and it will hook into your game

Only a couple of the LSPDFR controls seem to work (such as Y, Q, and B).  I had thought I was simply not doing it right, as I am new to this. 

It's still fun, but it would be nice to get the full experience.
