FDLC Mod?

Featured Replies

Yes, I know. The idea is cursed. A mod turned into drama and bans left and right. It seems every time a fire mod is mentioned, it dies a horrible death... But, could there be hope? In light of Bravehearts policing mod, which places victims and fires randomly (I'm pretty sure) throughout Liberty City, how hard would it be to alter it a pinch and make a full FDLC mod?

it would be pretty boring if it only are fires.

well go look on GPM or youtube for Mordecki, he is working on a EMS script that is pretty amazing.

maybe he will do the FD too

What I do is use SNT to make myself a firefighter, spawn a firetruck, and run Braveheart's mod, responding only to EMS or fire calls. Once the fire is dealt with, I use shift+delete to clear the scene (instead of having to, say, breathalyze the driver in an MVA).

Totally agree. I meant everything in the realm of firefighters, including medical and traffic collisions. The only problem I have with using Bravehearts script is that you have to force events. So there is no downtime waiting for calls, which is part of the fun. But I will go check out the EMS script!

It was pretty sad that the FDLC mod died out :( It sounded so cool and I really wanted to get it. But what I don't know is what happened to the guy who was supposed to be working on it? I haven't seen him on the forms or on the site. And where is this EMS script? And i originally thought there was an FDLC mod (other than the one we're talking about) that was for EMS because I saw videos on YouTube but could never find the site to download the mod. Do y'all know where it is?

Yes, unfortunately, Anti has left the modding scene. Unknown as to whether or not he will be returning at any time.

Anti has left the modding scene.

He was never in it.

The reason I say this is because;

  1. He creates a thread about the modification he's making with a list of amazing features
  2. He then posts a release date
  3. The date arrives and nothing is heard from him
  4. A massive flame war erupts with users demanding more info
  5. Anti's site is DDoSed by another sire
  6. Anti gives AdminCP powers to one of the moderators of that site
  7. That moderator shuts down Anti's site
  8. Anti gets the site back up and running and then announces he's merging with the very people that hacked him
  9. He PM's me to get his thread closed as he's sick of all the flaming, so I close it.
  10. He remains inactive for a few months and returns
  11. He posts a new thread with screenshots of his "months and months" of hard work on the script
  12. He posts another release date which once again passes and nothing is heard for a few weeks from him
  13. His main post is then edited saying that somebody has "hacked" into his account although our records show only him logged into it
  14. He "leaves" the modding scene

Before you all start attacking me saying "You do better" I'm going to say this;

In the screenshots, it looked as if he'd opened Simple Native Trainer and placed himself in a fireman skin. He then spawned three bodyguards with the fireman models and placed some text at the top left of the screen which could've easily been done in a third-party paint program.

In the other screenshot, the fire on the dumpster is very small and doesn't even fit. It hovers above and extrudes well outside the boundaries of the dumpster model.

You say "You do better then". To be honest with you, I probably could. All it'd take is my willingness to learn C# and free time, which I don't have at the moment due to studying for my A3 courses in college.

I guess your probably right. Maybe braveheart or Abraxus could do it. I guess we would have to ask them. I might like to do it, except i am a n00b at making scripts, as you'll see in my topic about how i need help with scripts in the gta 4 discussion section.

Judging by the date on the youtube video for the EMS scripts, its another bust. Alot of people just want the glory without the work. This just makes me appreciate the devs. A mod like this by abrax or braveheart (or even g17?) would be spectacular!

Well said Harper. Also I saw this coming. Everyone was too ignorant because they were so happy about the thought this ''One amazing mod'' finally would come.

His ''Work in progress'' topics never showed an update, except the SNT thing as Harper mentioned.

I called it before, and somehow i'm 99.99% of the time wrong.. maybe i should think about leaving the mod scene..
