9/5/12 A shooting in the Bay Area occurred. Two CHP officers pulled over a Jeep on I-680. One officer, Officer Youngstrum, approached the driver. He spoke with the driver for a minute or two when the driver, last name Lacy, pulled out a gun and shot Youngstrum in the head. The other CHP officer shot Lacy. Lacy was pronounced dead almost immediatly after arriving at the hospital. Youngstrum was put on life support. He was taken off life support today. He had been serving for the CHP for 7 years.

I would like to note that not only did he give his life for us, he also donated his organs and saved 8 other people.

A TRUE HERO. It is said to hear these stories because these true American heroes lay down there life one after the other.

He is the 223rd CHP officer to die since 1929. The video halfway down this page(right under main paragraph) sums it up the best.

RIP Officer Youngstrum, God Bless You, Your Family, and Every Other Man and Woman serving at home and abroad.

OMG, That's so terrible, RIP to the fallen officers, and may we all pray for those who are still out protecting us all.
