Installation 

  • Install RAGEPluginHook 1.74+. 
  • Drop the "Spotlight.dll" file and "Spotlight Resources" folder into the "Plugins" folder in your game directory.

 

Controls

This plugin has 3 input layouts:

  • Keyboard:
    For toggling the spotlight press I.
    For moving it use the NumPad (NumPad4, NumPad6, NumPad8 and NumPad2). 
    For tracking peds or vehicles press NumPad3.
  • Controller:
    For toggling the spotlight press LB + X.
    For moving it use the left stick. You can change this to the right stick or the DPad in the General.ini file.
  • Mouse:
    For toggling the spotlight press I.
    For moving it hold down the left control key and move your mouse.

 

And to open the in-game editor press F11.

 

Check General.ini file to change which keys/buttons should be used, or if any controls should be disabled.

I'm on Rage 37 and unfortunately the newest GTA-V update (if this helps) I have the 2014 Dodge Charger (police2 replacement) Pursuit 1.2L by Bxbugs123. My question is that your awesome mod works fantastic on the stock models (before my upgraded vehicle mod install), but unfortunately not with this model. Example: if I'm moving your spotlight with my mouse it can easily move to the left or above, but towards the center and right areas (of space) it just blacks out. It seems as if something in the Dodge model is blocking your light. Is there anything I can do?  The other mod vehicle that I use is the Ford Explorer by PimDSLR, his Federal Signal Valar Lightbar (also amazing) and your mod has full functionality there. Is there something I can do so I can continue to use my lovely Dodge (because using it without your spotlight is not the same now :( ) 

Thank you and the rest of this mod community for doing all that you do. (Just stared using LSPDFR 2 weeks ago, and I'll never leave now)

You will need to change the position of the spotlight, to do this you can change it directly in the .ini file or you can use the in-game edit menu, just enter the vehicle, activate the spotlight and press the Insert key.

Note; I noticed that if you are not in full screen mode (I typically use windowed) that the spotlight menu is not functioning fully. No big deal

Not really sure what you mean with "not functioning fully" but I use windowed but borderless and it works fine.

I just mean that my mouse will not move to the far left of my screen when the configuration window opens, i can't save the settings (or access the vehicle settings), and the configuration window won't close when clicking on the "X" at the upper right of the window. It's not a big deal, but I just go into full screen to configure it.

Why do you need an update? It works fine with tge latest versions of GTA V and RPH.

It isn't working on certain car models. Like the 2014 dodge charger, it would be nice if it could but overall I am still in love with this mod!

Take a look few comments above where I explain to jpllkyddd how to fix that, it's not that it isn't working is that the spotlight is inside the car because it doesn't have the same size as the original car.

Something about running this plugin crashes LSPDFR but not the game so I have to LoadPlugin LSPDFR.dll in the console.
Sometimes it crashes spotlight.dll, others it crashes LSPDFR and Spotlight, sometimes just LSPDFR.

I'm using a educated guess to pinpoint this mod, once I disabled the spotlight mod my problems stopped, but I'm not 100%, something to look in to.

Latest RageHook and LSPDFR versions.

If you're having crashes, the best thing to do is post your RagePluginHook log file..  If the log is way to big, just copy and paste it to http://pastebin.com/  Create New Paste and then copy/paste the link to it here.

Most likely you have a key set to 'i' when it should be 'I', in uppercase. Check the .ini or post it here so I can check it.

Do you have a modded model for the maverick helicopter? Are you referring to the police maverick(model name: "polmav") or the civilian maverick(model name: "maverick")? You can try to open the edit menu, maybe the spotlight is inside the vehicle and you can't see it. To do this toggle the spotlight and the press Insert, this will open the menu, here use the arrows in the menu to move the spotlight, then click the "Save Settings" button.

keeps on crashing when the game starts  or when i load it through the console 

nvm got it working
