The crashing issue should be fixed. Please redownload the file and replace both the wft and wtd. It looks like the crashing was related to a corrupted wtd file.

A default MTL Firetruck, UV-Mapped by me to Lt.Caine's template (his model was locked), and with ELS lighting made by mixing up the default Firetruck lights and Whelen Ultra Freedom.

Skins made by me, based on Lt.Caine's ones and real-life FDNY Engine designs. ACFD skin by DLer.

ELS configuration file included.

12 liveries total! I recommend you to use Area Livery Mod by Sam, to restrict certain liveries to certain areas, and to remove the 4 liveries limit! (LCPDFR 1.0c also removes the limit, but it does not have the ALM features). You can add more liveries to the wtd, just rename the livery you want to add to firetruk_skin_5, and then import it. If you want to add more, increase the number by one.

WARNING

Using too many liveries (even 8 can be too many), can and WILL result in a BROAD RANGE of problems including, but not limited to, TEXTURE LOSS, POP-IN, SLOWNESS, FREEZING, CRASHES TO DESKTOP and MODELS/PEDS/CARS NOT SPAWNING.

MAKE SURE TO UNCHECK "AUTOMATICALLY GENERATE MIPMAPS" WHEN IMPORTING TEXTURES IN OPENIV. MIPMAPS ADD SIZE, LESS SIZE IS BETTER.

Installation:

- Use OpenIV to replace the corresponding files within vehicles.img with the .wft and .wtd files provided in this package.

- Open the vehicles.ide file in your Grand Theft Auto IVcommondata folder, find the lines beginning with the names of the appropriate

models, and at the end of those lines add +livery.

I am aware of the issue, but I have no idea how to fix it. Also, with the little free time I have, even if I knew how to fix it, it wouilf take a long while. Please only post comments about the firetrucks here.

Same problem for me. EFLC crashes every time I spawn it or get close to a location where it is spawned. Tried to use only 1 skin and lower it to 1024-resolution but I did not help, there something is wrong with the model. Awesome skins though!!

Hmm, that is strange. I also had crashing problems, but I have redone the wtd and then it worked. Maybe try extracting all the textures from the wtd (as PNG), deleting the wtd, making a new one (named firetruk) and importing all the textures back in? It could help. I am sure it it not the model.

Few suggestions, make the lights brighter, reduce the light reflections, add more lighting.

The light brightness and reflections are controlled by your ENB/visual settings and not by the model.

Yard, I have a suggestion for this truck. Attach some window meshes as extra ten, that way we can have a police water cannon riot truck. :)

Anyway I'll certainly download this.

Sorry to say but this solution did not work. I made a completely new WTD as instructed but got the same issue. After that I replaced the WFT to a similar firetruck and that worked in game even if a few textures were misaligned. So for some reason my EFLC does not like the WFT file. I even tried to dowload it again and same issue occured. Bad luck but I figured that I at least can use the skin files on a similar model.

i'm seeming to have the same issue with the firetruck. I would love to use the truck to make actually make trucks of my own. Sadly it doesn't give an error type when the game crashes.

Well damn. When so many people have this problem, it looks like I will have to try to come up with some sort of solution. Could all the people with the crashing problem PM me? I'll explain my plan.
