More Realistic Gunplay and accuracy v2

(9 reviews)

5 Screenshots

This simple file edit increases damage and decreases the accuracy of weapons. Making it take fewer shots to take someone out, and giving guns a heavier recoil (For example, a pistol shot can take 2-3 body shots on average)

+decreases accuracy on most ranged weapons (except snipers) for a more realistic spread leading to more intense and longer shootouts.

+smaller crosshair (gives you a perspective of where you're shooting without being blatantly obvious)

+weapon damage increased, no more pedestrians getting up over and over after getting shot!

+makes weapons less accurate when holding down LMB(shoot) Small bursts are more accurate!

+weapon ranges slightly increased on shotguns and other weapons

+deagle, shotguns, and rifles exert slightly more force when making contact

Other slight changes

V2

+Removed health circle around aiming reticle when aiming at enemies. No more hints that you are hovering right over an enemy!

Please leave feedback :) I don't consider myself a modder but I have the utmost respect to those who can script, model, texture, etc.

This is simply something I edited in my game to get a more realistic LCPDFR. (I must say shootouts and gunplay has brought a new light in this aspect, considering GTA weapons are dead accurate by default)

INSTALLATION - Drop both files in your common/data folder. Make backups

NOTE:

If you want to keep the health reticle when aiming at enemies, just don't install the hud file.

*Back up your weaponinfo.xml and hud.dat*

Great job, I love the realistic aspect of the damage, so sick of people taking 5+ shots to go down. However I am not a fan of how inaccurate some of the guns are, primarily the pistol. Unfortunately the mod messed with my shotgun slug mod so I will be going back to my old ways for these reasons. Nice work though.

Thanks, like the other guy said It's just a matter of tweaking the values. I'll put out an update later today after fixing a few more things. I agree the pistol can be pretty inaccurate especially holding down the trigger. Thanks for your suggestions. Also, you can just copy and paste the values for shotguns in your slug mod into this .xml and make it compatible. Either way thanks for your suggestion

This is a great little mod. Do not use it with a controller though because the accuracy is way off because it already does what this mod does :D

I'm not saying I need it but for other people that are new to modding maybe make a README.

a little sad I cant use the LCPDFR taser with this as it uses the same GTA file, either way I prefer this mod over the Taser would be NEAT to be able to use it but I cant stand having to shoot a thug 10 times for him to go down, like the mod man GJ!

I don't get it! The removed health circle isn't new. You removed it on your first release. So it isn't an update!

I have no clue if anyone still reads stuff on here but my shotguns are only shooting slugs, and I don't know how to change it back to spraying pellets.

A readme should be a requirement with all uploads... huge turnoff for me.

This is a 5+ Year old mod for an old version of LSPDFR. Yes, I could re-release it and copy and paste the description above into a readme but at this point, why? There are installation instructions and everything you need to know in the description above, so I'm not sure what you would want from the read-me...

I love this mode but the crosshair Is very small !!! can I change it?

(edited)

Thank you for this mode man! It adds more realism to my game, I like GTA 4 physics very much, but it was so annoying that I had to shot 12 times by glock to kill someone)
