A plugin for LSPDFR that adds realistic airbag deployment to fleeing and pursuit vehicles during high-speed collisions.

Features

- Automatic Airbag Deployment: Airbags deploy in NPC vehicles when they crash at 30+ mph

- LSPDFR Integration: Only affects vehicles that are fleeing from police or in active pursuits

- Smart Collision Detection: Only triggers on front-half impacts, allowing PIT maneuvers from the rear

- Vehicle Disabling: Crashed vehicles automatically become disabled after airbag deployment

- Vehicle-Specific Positioning: Airbag positions automatically adjust based on vehicle class (Sports, Sedans, SUVs, Vans, etc.)

- Realistic Physics: Driver ragdolls briefly from impact, engine damage, and vehicle becomes undriveable

added Airbag option for Player when in pursuits.

added option to have post crash system (horn beep and hazard lights)

added Probability that vehicle occupants will become unconscious when Airbag deploys.

the driver and passengers probability are independent of each other, recommend for realism 50%.

All new options can be Enabled/Disabled within the new config file.

Installation

1. Install the airbag prop:

- Add Airbag Folder to \GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks

- then add <Item>dlcpacks:/Airbag/</Item> to your dlclist.xml

2. Install the mod:

- placePursuitAirbag.dll, PursuitAirbag.pdb and PursuitAirbag.ini

- into Grand Theft Auto V\Plugins\LSPDFR\

If updating you do not need to reinstall the airbag prop.

Configuration

PursuitAirbag uses an INI configuration file for easy customization where you can change the airbag offsets for different vehicle types

enable and disable the Mod.

Troubleshooting

Airbags not deploying

- Ensure you are on duty in LSPDFR

- Verify the vehicle is fleeing or in pursuit

- Check that impact speed is 30+ mph (or your configured threshold)

- Confirm impact is from the front half of the vehicle

- Make sure prop_airbag is properly installed

- Check PursuitAirbag.ini - ensure PluginEnabled=true

- Verify airbag settings in INI (DeployDriverAirbag, DeployPassengerAirbag)

Known Issues

- Some vehicle models may have slightly misaligned airbag positions

- Airbag props may occasionally clip through dashboard on certain vehicles

- Requires custom prop_airbag model to be installed separately

@keyser1700 great mod bro...but could you also make it possible for police vehicles and normal civilian vehicles when you hit them (even if not in pursuit) just regular crashes with 30 mph make the airbags deploy...would be amazing.

It's something to consider. When making and testing I did have it on all npc vehicles but due to their driving the motorway/highway would get backed up once 1 vehicle had crashed and deployed the airbag the pile up would crash the game. But maybe if only vehicles the player hits get airbags? That i haven't tried

Maybe add option for police cars to have airbags also so if your chasing some you need be extra careful not to hit anything head on more immersion if your police vehicles had same option

Your backup vehicles will have airbags while in pursuit. This is because GTA also registers the backup units as in pursuit as well as the fleeing vehicle. so if the AI backup has a crash their vehicle will have airbags and be disabled, meaning you will need to call for extra to replace them. I was thinking of adding, the option for the player vehicle to get them while in pursuit. If that was what you were thinking?

Awesome mod! Besides the suggestion to have players vehicle deploy airbags, I have two other suggestions. Firsty, would love to have the ability to change the probability of a suspect fleeing after airbags are deployed. Often times, suspects are trapped in vehicles. Secondly, the probability that a wrecked vehicle catches fire. Other than that a very solid mod!

Firstly glad you are enjoying the mod. I wasn't aware of suspect getting stuck in vehicles. Are you using any other vehicle mods?They are supposed to flee once the vehicle becomes disabled. Engines can catch fire if destroy engine is set to true in the .ini. if the destroyed engine catches fire is currently decided by gta, not sure how possible giving it a probability is. But I do like your suggestions and something for me to look into.

Peds aren't getting stuck in vehicle. What I meant was is there a way to make them sit in the vehicle vs getting out to flee as often as they do? Entrapment so to speak seems more likely after a major accident than them just running away like nothing happened. And yeah wasn't sure how all the gta5 mechanics work with vehicle fires 😅.

Ok that makes sense. The possibility of the suspect being trapped in the car is a good idea and not something I have looked into. This is something, if I can get it to work i could add in an updated version. Currently testing player airbags.

I don't honestly know as the mod has no connection to towing or escort units. I hadn't come across this personally. Are you using another vehicle mods that maybe conflicts?

Awesome idea, Im just having trouble getting the airbag prop. Ive followed the install instructions and the troubleshooting. Everything seems to work except when the vehicle crashes no deployment. Are there any other known issues? Could also be something on my end as well.

1st check i would do if it's only the airbag isn't deploying is check you put the dlclist.xml line in correctly and the airbag folder is in your dlc packs.
