This is a replacement for StopThePed and Ultimate Backup. They cannot be used with this mod.
A lot of plugins require STP/UB and cause crashes without them. They will need to update.
Compulite does not work with this. Reports+ or External Police Computer are alternatives.

After two years of development, it's here. Policing Redefined is a LSPDFR plugin similar to popular plugins such as Stop The Ped, Ultimate Backup by Bejoijo, LSPDFR+, or Arrest-Manager by Albo1125. It aims to provide an even more feature-rich and immersive experience to your LSPDFR Patrol, advancing ped and traffic stops as well as adding additional vehicle stops and on-foot traffic stops.
And that is just a small portion of what PR (Policing Redefined) has to offer!

 

Installation:

  1. Extract the contents of the downloaded Policing Redefined v[VERSION].zip archive.
  2. Drag-and-drop the contents of the "GTAV MAIN DIRECTORY" folder into your GTA 5 root directory.
  3. Read the "Get Started" guide on our site

 

After installing your Settings/ folder will be empty, which is normal!
Go on duty at least once: PR will generate them then.

Features:

Policing Redefined has a ton of features which all cannot be listed here. However here is a rundown of the biggest:

  • Ped Interaction: Custom questioning menu, field sobriety tests, Front/Back cuffing, citations, and more.
  • Inventory Management: Store and bag evidence, test substances, replenish ammo, and more.
  • Backup: Call police, fire, and EMS with a full RTS style management menu to assign tasks to each unit.

First, this will be completely incompatible with Stop The Ped, Ultimate Backup, and Compulite, it is recommended you remove them for the smoothest experience.

This is a BETA. This means that you may encounter bugs, crashes, weird behaviors, etc.

The mod itself works as intended. Any major breakages (e.g. the mod crashing on load), are likely due to user error.

PR has been rigorously tested for the past year by various testers and content creators, with no major issues that have yet to be patched.

  • Added to BackupSettings.ini:
    • ExternalDispatchTowTruck: Set response code when requesting tow-truck outside of dispatch menu (plugins like GP, general/misc menu)
    • ExternalDispatchPrisonerTransport: Set response code when requesting prisoner transport for arrested ped

 

Fixes

  • Custom .ini-parser for special characters support
  • K9 fight abort shouldn't kill ped anymore
  • Felony stop doesn't error upon clearing vehicle anymore
  • Felony stop now aborts when a pursuit starts
  • Putting suspect in vehicle (player & prisoner transport) now only uses passenger doors
    • PR will display it when prisoner transport notices that no door to enter could be found.
      If that's the case for you (and the vehicle isn't full of passengers) then it is a vehicle model issue. Use a different one!

And many other small bug fixes, either too small to be their own line, or just missed.

 

Improvements

  • Improved response/parking AI
  • Better animation playing (hopefully less random canceling)
  • Normal dismiss now skips walking tasks of backup peds
  • Made cops slightly more aggressive (more peaking, shooting, advancing)

To update, you only need to replace your DLL and PDB files.
To utilize some search items fixes, you can replace the appropriate XML files too — though it's not required and NOT recommended if you already have custom ones.

this mod works then sometimes dont or crashes etc im so confused as to where this "ambientcontroller" is so i can fix it myself so im resorting here with my rph log if by any chance SOMEONE can just tell me why its throwing this error so i can fix it and move on.

Its not PR thats causing a crash, thats an error resulting from a different issue.

Based on the past it was caused by plugins that require STP and/or UB. If you remove all plugins that depend on those it should work.

How can I examine a firearm? 
If I find a firearm in a vehicle during a traffic stop. During the vehicle search. Then I go to my police car, open the trunk, and click on "Secure Evidence." When I then click on "Firearm Test," lspdfr tells me that I don't have a firearm to test. When I put it back in my inventory, the same thing happens.


Another question:

If I click on "manual" during a traffic stop for serious criminals (what is the difference between automatic and manual for this function?), I let the driver out of the vehicle and ask them to lie down on the ground. How can I then arrest the person? My colleague is also unable to arrest the person. I can't conduct an interrogation either; to do that, I would have to stop the person again as a pedestrian. Only when I request another unit can that unit arrest the person. Only then can I talk to the person.

The item you are finding is not marked as a firearm item then. Just because it says something with "gun" or "pistol" thats not enough for it to be a firearm, it doesnt work like that in PR. Read more here: https://policing-redefined.netlify.app/docs/user-docs/configuration/search-items

 

You can arrest the suspect via LSPDFR arrest or you let your backup arrest, just like you explained. I dont understand your issue?

Honestly, I’d really love to see a feature similar to UB where you can call a taxi or an Uber instead of just using regular patrol cars. Also, the backup in pursuits always spawns directly in front of the suspect and just blocks the road, instead of actually joining the chase from behind or trying to ram them. It would be way more immersive if backup could spawn behind the suspect or even actively catch up instead of just parking right in front of them every time.

    Anyone know why when i issue citations with compulite and reapproach suspect i have no option to issue citation? It says no available citation although i did issue one im at a loss.

    Compulite, StopThePed and Ultimate Backup are Incompatible with Policing Redefined . But for replacement of Compulite are Police Menu, Report+ or External Police Computer.

     

     

     

    Does anyone know why, when I requested Backup in a Pursuit, then the backup joins the Pursuit and then after 1-5 minutes they just leave the Pursuit. The backups are slow sometimes in a Pursuit. It's like i am the only one who is pursuing suspect and they are miles away from suspect(sometime). I don't use the plugin/script "Safer Chases"

    Yeah honestly this is what I did. I wanted so badly for it to just work great and be a wonderful new updated function instead of STP/UB but it just isn't quite there yet. I do look forward to when this mod is further developed though and trying it again later when it is better! But for now.. STP/UB is what I use.

    Agreed and compulite also. Those 3 mods alone are great. Now put all those mods into 1 plugin and you have yourself one amazing mod

    Just don't search dead ped anymore.( I don't have LSPDFR for enhanced so I don't know if it's compatible)

    Stop The Ped And Ultimate Backup are no doubt better as it seems so far. But I am so sick and tired of constantly having to rely on the internet to play the games that I BOUGHT!? STP and UB just MODs and yet, the author made them so you can't use em without internet connection! WTF!? It's just a MOD for pete sake and you still want to force us to use internet to play with them? Nahhhh Im out. I'll stick Police Redefined instead. Not as good as STP and UB so far ( Just started using it. Maybe it will get a lot better than I predict later )but still does the job biggly. And having a partner that has the same clothes than mine is also super handy to me. My main concerned this was actually. Because in terms of AI backup UNITs I still only use the based game keybind. B. I like the backups setup from the vanilla game better to be honest. While also using the EUP skins.

    P.S

    I will indeed miss the crap out of Stop The Ped and Ultimate Backup mods though.

    How can I change the backup units? I can only change the code 2 units in the Backup - SpecialUnits file. There is no coroner or tow truck included there. I would like to change this so that a vehicle I have added appears. I would also like to add a new category.
