[ELS] Los Santos PD Mega-Pack (LAPD)

Build 210901-134E4a(MD)

This is the 2024 remaster of my most popular pack, including 21 vehicles based on the Los Angeles Police Department in California. I've tried my best to make the pack as accurate as possible, with the resources I have available. Unfortunately, there are still some things I couldn't get quite right, including interior setup, certain aspects of lighting patterns, and various equipment. The vehicles included in this pack are listed below.

Vehicles included:

  • fbi: 2018 Dodge Charger PPV, unmarked
  • fbi2: 2014 Dodge Charger PPV, unmarked
  • police: 2011 Ford Crown Victoria PI, traffic division 24
  • police1: 2011 Ford Crown Victoria PI, slicktop
  • police12: 2011 Ford Crown Victoria PI, K-9 unit
  • police2: 2014 Dodge Charger PPV
  • police21: 2018 Dodge Charger PPV, fictional
  • police22: 2010 Dodge Charger PPV, slicktop
  • police23: 2010 Dodge Charger PPV
  • police3: 2016 Ford PI Sedan
  • police31: 2016 Ford PI Sedan, slicktop
  • police4: 2011 Ford Crown Victoria PI, Standard Appearance Package, detective unit
  • police41: 2002 Ford Crown Victoria PI, slicktop, all-white "polar bear" livery, fictional
  • lapdpolice5: 2016 Ford PI Utility
  • police51: 2014 Ford PI Utility
  • police52: 2020 Ford PI Utility
  • police6: 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV
  • police61: 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV
  • police7: 2016 Chevrolet Impala LPV
  • police8: 2013 Ford Expedition SSV, fictional
  • police9: 2020 Ford Police Responder Hybrid Sedan, fictional

Caveats

Open Caveats

  • On lower-end systems, large YTD sizes and 4K liveries may crash the game or result in temporary texture loss issues. Workaround: Resize the liveries to 2K.
  • The 2020 Ford Police Responder Hybrid Sedan (police9) does not have an openable trunk/hood. Workaround: None.
  • The 2020 Ford Police Responder Hybrid Sedan (police9) and 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility (police52) have high polygon counts and large model sizes. This may result in temporary texture loss issues or degraded performance. Workaround: Do not spawn the vehicles or spawn only limited quantities. Do not allow these vehicles to spawn in traffic or through plugins.
  • The 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV (police61) has large texture sizes. This may result in temporary texture loss issues. Workaround: Do not spawn the vehicle or spawn only limited quantities. Do not allow this vehicle to spawn in traffic or through plugins.
  • Character hands are not placed on the steering wheel on the 2014 Ford Police Interceptor Utility (police51). Workaround: None.
  • The handling lines for all Impala LPV/PPV and FPRHS models do not accurately reflect their real-life counterparts, notably with suspension and turning behavior. Workaround: None.
  • The grille and headlight LEDs on the 2016 slicktop FPIS (police31) erroneously function as steady-burn lights at stage 2. Workaround: None.
  • The FS Valor lightbars are mounted incorrectly. They are positioned too close to the roof of the vehicles. Workaround: None.

Resolved Caveats

Caveats Resolved in Release 210901-134E4a(MD)

  • The 2011 slicktop CVPI (police1) incorrectly used the division 24 livery.

Caveats Resolved in Release 210901-134E4(MD)

  • The 2020 Tahoe (police61) has glitched dials.

Caveats Resolved in Release 210901-0324E4(ED)

  • The 2020 Tahoe (police61) had no window tint, and part of the reflective livery was cut off.

Caveats Resolved in Release 210901-0319E4(MD)

  • The 2011 CVPI (police) would disappear at unrealistically close distances.

Caveats Resolved in Release 210901-0317E4(ED)

  • Bullets would not pass through the 2014 Tahoe (police6) due to invalid collision parameters.
  • The 2010 Chargers were missing additional white body paint.
  • Due to Rockstar adding its own police5 model, the 2016 FPIU would not spawn correctly.

Great idea, I forgot that vehicle existed, to be honest.

I have to reactivate my ZModeler trial license anyway to fix a small issue with the 2020 Tahoe's reflective livery--so I'll look into adding the 2016 slicktop FPIS while I'm at it.

Thank you for your suggestion.

In a future update would it be possible to fix this issue with the taillights while the trunk is open on the 2014 Charger?

Could contain: text, vehicle, land vehicle, car, automotive design, bumper, automotive exterior, wheel, tire, vehicle registration plate, auto part, automotive tail & brake light, screenshot, automotive lighting, motor vehicle, outdoor, automotive

Wasn't aware that was an issue, thank you for letting me know.

As it's a modeling issue, I won't be able to fix it for a bit, or at least not until I have another modeling project significant enough to warrant trial license activation on.

Thanks for your patience and for reporting the issue.

Sure, I’ll look into correcting it in the next version.

Thanks!

As others have reported it too, I'll test it out on my end and plan to release appropriate modifications, along with the other fixes for the non-modeling caveats.

Thanks.

The Ford Explorer 14 (police51) when headlights and/or ELS is activated, the front indicators also flash. Is this by desgin?

Also would more k9 liveries (similar to police12) be possible? Like on the 14/16 explorers?

Honestly, not really, since the unmarked vehicles generally have more complicated light setups I'm not qualified to replicate. However, I might be able to throw something together with limited accuracy in a future update and add more unmarked vehicles (FPIS, FPIU, etc.) if it's viable. Thank you for your suggestion.

When opening simple trainer and going to the added vehicles menu, all the vehicles appear as "Police Cruiser, Emergency". I've tried reinstalling the pack thinking maybe this was an bug, but It didn't change anything. Is this Intended? And If so how would I change the vehicle names?

Yess! I would like to see something like that from you. Thank you and all the best to you in the future!
