It is a police officer that does mainly foot patrols in neighborhoods and events and they do not carry a gun.

All, Auxiliary Police are pretty much known as "Reserves"  They are volunteer police officers that are pretty much there to help full time officers. :)  I'm an Auxiliary police officer where I live.  They DO carry EVERYTHING a real full time police officer does.  The only difference between auxiliary and full time, is they are unpaid, and they don't work 40 hours a week.
