XScanner is an LSPDFR Scanner replacement/addon.

 

Features:

 

  • Full XAudio2 support.
  • Multiple output device support, play background scanner on one device and police scanner on another.
  • Multiple audio emitters to choose from; player, player vehicle, police vehicles.
  • Customizable distortion effects for the police scanner.
  • LSPDFR relay.
  • Broadcast quick selection.
  • Broadcast presets; Top50, Newest Streams, Official Streams, Manual stream input, search for streams.
  • Supports all known audio formats, and then some.
  • Police Scanner playback (frontend and 3d).
  • Background Scanner playback (frontend and 3d) (local files or stream).

There is the possibility of editing the ini manually, but I do not recommend it due to the complexity of this plugin.
Everything can be changed through the menu (default: F8)
If you already have something bound to F8 you can either:

 

  • change the menu key through the consolecommand
    SetXScannerMenuKey
  • manually open the menu through the consolecommand and change the menu key from within the menu.
    OpenXScannerMenu

 

 

Installation: Place files from the "Grand Theft Auto V" folder into your game installation folder.

Fix:

  • updated hook scanner
  • fixed streams 403-ing due to changes on broadcastify's end and showing up as down.
  • fixed landmarks not properly being used


Changes:

  • Folders under GTAV\LSPDFR\SCANNER are no longer selectable as the Preferred Audio Folder from the menu,
    as this folder is generally a bigger mess than your grandmothers random trash drawer.
    Use folders in GTAV\PLUGINS\LSPDFR\XSCANNER\Audio instead, which will still show up in the menu.
    You can still set the folder to GTAV\LSPDFR\SCANNER itself however.
    This will NOT break any dispatch replacements.
  • changed normalization divider to 32768 instead of 32767

I will be releasing (hopefully) all my outdated and unfinished work over the summer, starting with the stuff that takes the least work.
Sadly I lost quite a bit of my source due to an error on my end which required me to decompile and rebuild my own stuff which takes a bit of time.

I will be splitting off things from plugins to be able to release them quicker, like removing Blacklist from Automatic Roadblocks and into its own plugin.

Are you able to make it so it detects if a window is broken/rolled down and adjusts the audio depending on it, because currently it's as quiet as when the door is closed.

Hello, I used the old version for years and loved it. This new version gave me an LSPDFR crash 3x in a row from isPlayerInVehicle() or something like that, and removing this version of xScanner stopped the crash. Could be on my end, but wanted to let you know I had to uninstall. Thanks again for all your hard work.

It is expected behaviour,

the previous XScanners hook broke when LSPDFR updated to 0.4.

 

All lspdfr scanner calls are relayed through XScanner, you can disable the relay if you dont want this in the ini.

Alternatively you can just change the audio volume with LCtrl+LShift and numpad +-

oh okay, then i have some upgrade to suggest, when grammar police respond there is A LOT of ''uhhh'' when she's speaking and the grchhh form the radio is annoying too. Glad to see you back to LSPDFR!

No way, bro… you’re back!? After all these years waiting and can finally turn down her voice! Say, do the specific locations work now too—the expanded locational tracking system you had? Everything just sort of stopped working except for the mp3 chatter stuff. Wow.

I'm not sure if it's me but setting EnableBackgroundScannerOnPlayer=true, I don't hear any background chatter at all. Am I misunderstanding what this does? I do remember in the previous v1, it basically disables the 3D functionality and plays chatter without regard to how far I am from my vehicle.

As it says in the known issues on the main page, that functionality is broken in the current live version, will update tonight .

 

Actually it's a different issue. Will check.
