VocalDispatch 1.8.1.0

(106 reviews)

Welcome to VocalDispatch for LSPDFR!

If you watched the video, remember that Charlie 63 is my unit number - not something you need to say to make it work. You should choose your own identifier.

DISCLAIMER: Although I am not done working on VocalDispatch, I've become extremely busy with work and will not be working on it for a while. I will offer the best support I can, but my response times will be slower.

Features:

  • Communicate verbally with dispatch
  • Accept a callout verbally
  • Request backup (code 2, code 3, pursuit, air unit, SWAT, ambulance, firetruck) verbally
  • End current callout verbally
  • Tow truck and transport support (via Arrest Manager)
  • Custom Backup and Better EMS integration
  • Responses to status (show me <status>) and detained/in custody reports for videos and added immersion
  • Varied and appropriate responses to verbal communication
  • Developer API for integration with third party software

To use features provided via Arrest Manager, you will need to install Arrest Manager by Albo1125, version 7.9.1.0 or higher. You can get it here:

To get the best backup and EMS functionality, please install the following two plugins.

VocalDispatch will automatically use both of these plugins, if installed.

Non-English Languages

It is possible to use VocalDispatch in other languages. You can do this by editing the {GTA V}\plugins\lspdfr\VocalDispatch\default.xml file to reflect the appropriate words in your language and changing the locale setting in {GTA V}\plugins\lspdfr\VocalDispatch.ini. If community contributors wish to translate the files and upload them for a certain language, I will add them here.

API Information

There is a topic in the forums regarding the API with a link to the example project and more information. You can see it here:

I am really intrigued by this mod and it looks AMAZING. do you plan to make it so you can run license plates with it? that would make this script even more useful!!!

Not yet, but I'm not against adding it in the future. :)

That would be great if it could communicate with lspdfr and police radio to run vehicles and plates!

Yes, for now, they all go in plugins\lspdfr. We'll be looking into why the PFD is broken sometimes.

The issue of translations is my fault for not explaining - if you're going to change the language, you'll need to edit the script.xml file to contain words in that language as well (there are no automatic translations). The "Locale" setting is there for those who are so inclined to translate the script.

As well, I figured I'd say this, the default key is Right Alt - the readme says this. I've already had several questions asked that could be solved by properly reading the readme.pdf file included. PLEASE start there before asking questions or becoming upset.

So i have to change the words like need,backup... into German in the .xml?

or is there any way to make it work with english speech because i thing it would be better.
please help

Yes, if you change the script to listen for German words, it will. You can also set the "Locale" in the ini file to "en-US" and install the English language pack for Windows, then speak in English (we'll be explaining this better in future versions).

Love the Idea

yet It crashes whenever I press Right Alt, at first it was working just fine, but now its being a bit stubborn

something i would recommend though : is adding a notification whenever pressing the Right-Alt key that says "Listening" or something.

if you look closely, I have tried to run it several times...

Very odd - this line: "System.InvalidOperationException: The real-time audio device stopped returning expected data". Do you have your default mic setup properly in Windows?

it's built in with the headset, and yes I do have it set to default.

I noticed what the problem was, I pressed Right alt whenever It was still recognizing.

thus making LSPDFR crash I guess.

However, some of us are in a bit louder environments, so I think there should be a button to force it to stop recognizing.

I'll report back on any other problems, Maybe it was because Speech Recognition wasn't setup completely.

it keeps giving me that error after a moment or two, like 15 seconds into recognizing.

Whenever it says that though, I am getting feedback from the microphone still.

The Speech Recognition APIs are stupid when it comes to "cancelling". If I make it push to talk, you'd have to hold the button down until after you've completely finished talking and VocalDispatch responded (otherwise, it's detected as a "cancel" and I get nothing from the API, even though you said the whole sentence). That said, it shouldn't crashing for any reason. I'll look into it.

Alright, I wonder if it is my microphone? I mean it is a decent quality microphone. Hell, maybe my microphone constantly resets?

Until then I'm gonna refrain from using Vocal dispatch, such a shame this thing has to creep up on me and not work properly. I honestly think its on my side, but I have another microphone laying around so maybe I'll use that and tell you how it goes.

I am having an issue loading the plugin, if I put it in plugins/lspdfr it doesn't show up when I do the loadplugin command in game but when I put it in just the plugins folder it won't load.

Did you read the readme? It'll probably answer your question. :)

The readme.pdf file included should answer your questions - is that file working for you? (I've had some reports of it being broken by default.)

Just drop everything in the plugins\LSPDFR folder - we'll get that fixed.
