pdComp — Police Computer for LSPDFR

A modern, immersive police computer for LSPDFR with deep records-framework integration.

pdComp transforms police roleplay in GTA V with a fully interactive MDT/CAD system featuring a simulated police-computer desktop, draggable applications, persistent records, evidence-aware court systems, and integrated records support. It now works with either Policing Redefined (via CDF) or Stop The Ped as its records backend.

Built from the ground up for immersion, pdComp replaces outdated menu-driven police computers with a realistic in-game operating system complete with:

  • Rugged police laptop interface

  • Draggable and resizable windows

  • Desktop wallpaper and app icons

  • Window snapping

  • On-foot patrol tablet

  • ALPR/BOLO notifications

  • Standalone ALPR plate reader and speed radar

  • Persistent criminal justice records

  • Persistent dark mode

New in v0.3.0

Stop The Ped support — pdComp now reads records from Policing Redefined/CDF or Stop The Ped, selectable with the new `[Integration] Mode` setting (Auto / Cdf / Stp)

Standalone ALPR plate reader and speed radar with an on-screen readout — no external dependency required

Optional UI and alert sounds for a more responsive terminal

Smooth, animated UI — frame-rate-independent easing on hovers, presses, and window open/restore, plus title-bar gradients, window drop shadows, a custom cursor, and pixel-snapped text for crisp rendering at every resolution

Deep Records-Framework Integration

A records integration is required — pdComp has no standalone vanilla mode. Choose your backend with `[Integration] Mode`:

When used with Policing Redefined + CDF, pdComp becomes part of a connected policing ecosystem:

  • Pulls synchronized suspect and vehicle records directly from PR

  • Supports evidence-linked arrest reports

  • Integrates with PR citation workflows

  • Tracks warrants, suspended licenses, insurance status, registrations, permits, and more

  • Uses tested evidence and relevance checks in court outcomes

When used with Stop The Ped, pdComp combines LSPDFR persona/vehicle data with STP's:

  • Document-status API (license, registration, insurance)

  • Alcohol-over-limit and drug-influence advisories

  • Contraband/evidence search results, importable as current-call evidence

Core Features

  • Pedestrian & vehicle lookup

  • Citation issuing

  • Arrest reports

  • Court docket & hearings

  • Evidence-aware case outcomes

  • Prior stop and citation history

  • Persistent case database

  • Standalone ALPR & speed radar

  • Persistent vehicle BOLOs with ALPR-style hit alerts

  • Report Center for incident, use-of-force, and vehicle damage reports

  • Mouse, keyboard, and controller support

  • Full-screen immersive UI

What's New in Version 0.3.0

Released

pdComp v0.3.0 — Stop The Ped, ALPR & Radar Update

-This release adds a second records backend, brings real traffic-enforcement tools into the terminal, and gives the whole UI a smoother, more polished feel.

New Features
-Stop The Ped support
pdComp now works with Stop The Ped as an alternative to Policing Redefined/CDF.

With Stop The Ped, pdComp blends LSPDFR persona and vehicle data with STP's document status (license, registration, insurance), DUI and drug-influence advisories, and contraband found during searches — all importable as current-call evidence.

Note: A records integration is still required. pdComp has no standalone/vanilla mode.

-Standalone ALPR & Speed Radar
A built-in automatic plate reader and speed radar with an on-screen readout — no extra plugins needed. Configurable under [ALPR] and [Radar].

-Optional Sounds
UI feedback and alert sounds can now be enabled under [Audio] for a more responsive terminal.

-Improvements
Smoother, animated UI — frame-rate-independent easing on hovers, button presses, and window open/restore, plus title-bar gradients, window drop shadows, a custom cursor, and pixel snapped text that stays crisp at 1080p, 1440p/2K, and 4K.

Persistent dark mode with dark palettes across the desktop MDT and field tablet.

More forgiving custom catalogs — imperfect custom charge/citation rows are now repaired with safe defaults instead of being dropped.

-Fixes
Fixed a stuck/repeating key in the in-overlay text input.

Hardened the pullover plate-lookup logic to avoid a timing race.

Removed dead code and bounded internal animation state to prevent memory growth.

plugin is WIP and features will change/evolve/disappear throughout development as I strive more maximum stability and functionality

Silly question, but since the "pdComp.pdb" file is no longer included in the latest version, can I delete it from the hard drive?

It doesn't match the STP. I have STP set up everywhere in my settings. But what the dispatcher reports, as well as what's in the driver's documents, doesn't match the pdComp data.

Yes

I'm having some problems when I installed it, it causes crash. I carefuly follow the tutorial and it was still cause crash. I remove it and the game run smoothly I don't know why but I hope it will get fix because I wanna try this amazing plugin. thanks...

That sounds like an issue with install/ leftover files. Join the discord and send your log and I can tell you what you need to do to get it running

In STP mode, pdComp does not generate a separate set of records. It reads the live LSPDFR ped/vehicle data and uses Stop The Ped’s public API for the STP document statuses that are exposed to other plugins. Some dispatch mods can use their own snapshot or another backend, so it is possible for their dispatcher/documents to differ from what pdComp receives.

If it still does not line up, hop into the Discord and we can troubleshoot your exact setup with logs/configs. That’ll be much easier than trying to diagnose it in the comments section.

It should not interact with your in game keybinds while the computer is active.

I was very much focusing on functionality for initial release to get it out there, UI upgrades and nice to have features are coming in future updates!

I noticed this comment of yours.

First off, thanks for taking the time to release this plugin; awesome add-on! My only issue is that despite the computer being active, it still interferes with other keybinds/menus that I have.

For example, if I am typing in case details with pdcomp, I will hop out of the vehicle if I hit "F" on my keyboard. I did edit the config.ini, but I don't think I edited anything that would create this issue. Any advice?

Toggle pause while computer open to true

If we set that to true random events and AI activity stop while using the MDT, which feels less realistic. Would it be possible for the MDT to capture keyboard input exclusively while it's open, so only MDT buttons and text fields respond, without triggering game actions in the background?

No, there are certain plugins such as ELS that capture keyboard input directly and I haven’t figured out a way to block that without completely breaking the game

Join the discord and send your ragepluginhook log. sounds like it might be an install or dependency issue.

Make sure you have newtonsoft.json.dll in your GTA directory and make sure you have either PR or STP installed.

Make sure you don’t have CDF (Common Data Framework) installed. Many people miss that when they uninstall PR and CDF being loaded makes pdcomp expect PR instead of STP.

You can also change the mode from auto to stp in the config settings to stop the plugin from registering CDF completely

i did have that in my lspdfr folder ill delete it

changing the mode from auto to stp worked thank you so much brother

This is very close to a must have mod. Only issue in having is when typing reports, keybinds are still active for other mods opening their menus. Even when i have it set to pause game, random menus still open in background while typing. If you can fix that, I'm all sold on this!

I’m working on it😅

Hopefully here soon

Just another comment to add that the mod is great in many ways, but I'm sticking with an alternative for now solely because I want to be able to type in the MDT with the game unpaused for immersion reasons (and time-saving reasons, like filling out reports while waiting for the tow truck, etc.). I understand this is a game-wide issue, but I hope a solution can be found someday cause it's the only thing stopping me from using it.

Awesome! ELS numerical keys dont bother me as I have Scroll lock keybind that locks them out while using keyboard.

my only problem is when on a traffic stop or something like that pressing those keys cancels the traffic stop, or els goes off or toggles

Alright, finally got a chance to try this one out... this one is very exciting...I'll start with what I love

My biggest complaint about Compulite is that the court cases are super arbitrary. I always wanted to know exactly what factors determined the sentence. What you have going on here, variables based on judges, prosecutors, defense lawyers, plus the evidence actually having an impact on the sentence is really cool. I love having little easter eggs in LSPDFR so I added Saul Goodman, Alan Shore, and others to the list of attorneys...and I have a few joke charges I'll pop in later.

So here are my criticisms from most important to least important.

I'm not sure if this is my end, but the interface is EXTREMELY slow and extremely difficult to navigate. Typing is very difficult and certain keystrokes don't get recorded unless I type slowly. The mouse is jerky as hell. Court cases sometimes just flat out refuse to open and close, and scrolling with the arrow keys is too strong.

The keybinds issue has been addressed by others so I'll skip that one

Well...i actually think that's it...from here I just have suggestions.

I've yet to migrate my charges, though what you have is sufficient to the point where I'll just have to fill in the gaps manually...but I would love it if that PDcomp convert would also work for editing your JSON...that'd make my life a lot easier.

I personally have a a number of federal charges on my compulite xml. Perhaps a toggle for federal charges could be added...RICO charges are pretty common in my play.

I'd love to see a bit more customization and configuration for court cases...though I'd have a better way of expressing this if I knew exactly how narratives and evidence work hand in hand with charges...especially since I have a lot of custom charges and evidence to add.

All in all, this is a massive game changer. I was getting sick of how arbitrary court cases were for Compulite...and though I'll probably wait for an update to transition, but I'm looking forward for this being a reason to start using PR.

i've encountered a very annoying problem: when I'm working on my computer or tablet, I enter text into the search or press keys and various menus open, such as Policing Redefined, Backup Menu, and so on.

can you fix this?

Hmm the interface being laggy might be on your end, it has been fairly smooth on my end (watch the showcase linked on top of the description, that’s how it looks on my end). If you can record what it is doing and send it in the discord we can troubleshoot it.

The court system isn’t fully fleshed out at the moment so currently it is just evidence and judge/attorney personality affecting outcomes. The narrative may be added as a toggleable function for court later but currently it is just there for larp and flavor.

I will look into added just json editing functionality to the conversion tool

First off I want to say what an amazing mod you have created. This is 1000% a replacement to compulite I love this mod the custom driver license you can change and backgrounds and this is a truly game changer for total immersion. Only recommendation I would is the have when you search vehicle database look up you actually get a image of the vehicle model a standard model make would be great other than that you have managed to take lspdfr role play to a new level
