Emergency Lighting System V brings one of the most popular modifications ever created for a GTA title (ELS-IV) to Grand Theft Auto V. ELS-V will add a whole new dimension to your patrols. With a fresh look and many more features than its predecessor, it's also sure to brighten up your game and satisfy the emergency lighting enthusiast in anyone.

DESCRIPTION
− ELS provides an alternate and incredibly in-depth way of controlling emergency vehicle lights and sounds.
− ELS requires vehicle models specifically designed to make use of its features.
− ELS includes over 200 unique lighting patterns scattered across 4 light groups and lighting formats.

NOTES
− Please consult the ELS USER GUIDE and other provided documentation prior to using ELS.

− As of V1.00 ELS is not compatible with any form of multiplayer.
− A visual enhancement mod is recommended to improve the appearance of ELS lights in game.

BASIC INSTALLATION
− A GTAV ScriptHook must be installed for any .asi modification to work. The original may be found HERE.
− Using script modifications in GTA Online can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the service.
− 1. Place ELS.asi, ELS.ini, the ELS folder, and AdvancedHookV.dll inside your main GTA V game directory.
− 2. Download and install (a) pro-ELS vehicle model(s).
− 3. Start your game.

CREDITS
− ELS is coded by Lt.Caine.

− AdvancedHookV and vehicle damage feature coded by LMS.
− ELS-V testing team (alphabetical order): Albo1125, BxBugs123, GravelRoadCop, PoliceWag, and Prophet.

What's New in Version 1.05

Released June 28, 20241 yr

Removed auto deletion of discarded ELS vehicles to prevent crashes when using certain LSPDFR plugins.
Removed ELS manipulation of AI vehicles as persistent/not persistent for same reason.
Removed strobe corona flash sounds (while retaining sound effects for halogen patterns).
Toggling the ELS information panel will now reload everything in the ELS.ini.
Fixed error in ELS User Guide that incorrectly associated SCNL with extra_11 and TKDL with extra_12 (the opposite is true).
Updated ELS User Guide to reflect new changes.
ELS.ini change: Added "AllowController" option to CONTROL section to allow enabling/disabling controller input for ELS.
ELS.ini change: Added "TogKeysLock" option to CONTROL section to allow changing ELS key lock button.

Please download the AdvancedHookV fix if you are using game build 3258.

Is there a way to enable and toggle the mouse cursor for different lighting selections or is it strictly just keybindings? I've got the box toggled on HUD but was wondering if there if a way to use the mouse button?

Here are the ELS Mouse ID Numbers. If you look in the install files, you'll find all the ID numbers in the Documentation folder.

I found that but im confused on how i would be able to use my mouse to click around on the ELS box interface. Any tips or pointers?

After confirming in the ELS documentation, it appears that mouse controls for interacting with the control box are not available. The ELS (Emergency Lighting System) User Guide doesn't mention any mouse controls that interact directly with the control box. It provides extensive details about keyboard, controller, and joystick inputs for various operations but does not include instructions or configurations for mouse-based interactions. It seems the system is primarily designed for use with keyboard and controller inputs.

Thats what i was afraid of but I wanted to ask around and make sure I wasn't missing out on the potential for mouse use. I appreciate your info on this!

I wish this would be converted to use RPH instead of scripthook, would be nice to final be free of using scripthook.

A pack I downloaded has a bad ELS XML file packaged with it making the lights flash behind the vehicle and not all around it. I do not know quite how to fix it as the documentation says little or nothing about rotation of lights. From how it looks the X Y Z is 3D placement of the lights but nothing says about rotation anywhere unless I'm thinking too hard about it.

Even if you install an ELS vehicle correctly and edit the ELS file, the tail lights only flash in the game, but the roof and front patrol lights do not work. I've tried installing it many times, but it still doesn't change. Could it be a problem with ELS? ELS doesn't work. Someone please tell me.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with ELS, so I apologize if this explanation is a bit basic. Ensure proper installation of ELS and verify that your vehicle comes with an ELS lighting setup .xml file, such as "policecar.xml", which needs to be placed in the ELS pack default folder. It’s crucial to confirm that this XML file actually functions correctly, perhaps by checking user comments on the download page. If it doesn’t work, consider obtaining a different vehicle that includes a working .xml file. ELS is broken with the most current ScriptHookV update. Remove ELS.asi from your main GTA folder. We have to wait for SHV to update again.

it still loads and plays with els installed. just click the ok button and keep going...YES UPDATE IS NEEDED
