1.1 k for that is..... Quite high..

I recommend you completely UV-unwrap, don't use a texture, rather use a solid color, IE chrome, then use a seamless diamond plate texture, seamless is key. 
I haven't downloaded, but if you subdivided, don't do that too much and if you do, make sure to dissolve your edges. or just use loop cuts to cut poly's, and it'll keep clean topology. (not needed but is nice) 
bevel your edges too. that's important.

I know. I feelt it was quite high poly but just released it cus why not. Thansk for the tips tho.
