GTA V Police Cars
I did mean the interceptors and the buffalos versus the vapid patrol cars and the transporters. They're all LS (city) police but with different liveries and it's hard to make sense of why they opted for that.

vdH Vanilla Cars Textures MegaPack [WIP]
Downloading! ... And I feel I should do more models of these ones if nobody minds? Perhaps a proper unmarked Vapid Cruiser, an mx7000/slicktop to match the Buffalo and maybe a proper unmarked Buffalo.. Hmmm...

GTA V Police Cars
A few awesome things in this game for modders to take note of should GTAV ever make it to PC: 1. Obviously the LED lightbar systems are great 2. Halogen light effects have also been updating to actually rotate around the environment 3. A number of extra cars aside from just emergency vehicles have lightbars you can turn on using the siren button, including the lifeguard SUV (Amber LED lightbar with the older-style glowing orbs) and the towtrucks (no siren but the siren key will activate amber halogens) 4. Some cars have the ability to activate additional lights instead of just the headlights when you turn on high-beams. This means that you could have takedowns that activate only when you turn on the vehicle's high-beams, and not be on all the time when the vehicle's headlights are on. 5. The vapid patrol car can spawn with two different lightbars independently, so you could have it spawn with LEDs once and a different halogen bar another time. One thing I really don't understand though is what we've mentioned so far, that the liveries are different despite being from the same police department. I think it'd be really cool if someone from the community here could somehow get in touch with someone from rockstar and quiz them a bit about all this. edit: and one thing we're in desperate need of is some police versions of the Buffalo Sport (2012 charger)!!

GTA 5 Units
I have no idea what you're trying to say. For all we know, gta v cars could be in a totally different format to gta4 cars and we may not have the programs necessary to import and export them.

GTA 5 Units
Converting the cars from gta 5 to gta 4 will have to wait until the game is released on PC. It is only available on consoles at this stage and a PC release has not even been announced, it is only assumed to happen.

How to make a civ vehicle...
I believe OP wants to do the opposite, and replace civilian cars that drive around with peds with functioning police cars. Unfourtunately though, I don't think it's possible to do in terms of having those cars work with a siren/police-computer/traffic-stop ability. If you haven't already you could look for a cars pack that will add police3, police4 and policeb to regular gta iv which you can then have as other police cars. The sirens will work but the computers won't.

No 6th star wanted level. + Re-used content?
Pretty certain there are arrest animations, and you shouldn't really be surprised some content is re-used from gta iv. It's not like there was anything wrong with it...

GTA V Released This Morning For Console.
It's so entertaining. The random world events from red dead redemption are back in such a cool way too. I was driving around in one of the police cars at one point and i just happened to drive past a mugging, chased down the guy, retrieved the purse and got a reward when i returned it.

LCPDFR 1.0, 100,000 Members, GTA V and more
Put your dancing shoes on, we're about to tango baby!

How are people getting hold of GTA5 already?
Traffic, parking, local council ordinance, workplace safety, pricing and consumer laws etc. But you are right, in this case the breach would probably only be of a contract between retailers and rockstar so action would probably be limited to suing. e: I think i misinterpreted what you meant originally cp, sorry for jumping with my response like that when it was mostly irrelevant!

People can still be fined over non-criminal laws.

The road ahead: 2013 and beyond (LCPDFR, ELS.Net and more)
And instead we should focus all our energy on 1.0 then? Righto.

Little conversation with dispatch
For the script to 'know' when you're responding to an LCPDFR callout or doing an LCPDFR pullover it'd have to communicate with LCPDFR, which can't happen until the API is released (ETA unknown). For a script like what you want, you'll have to wait until then for anyone to do it. Theoretically someone could probably make a script now where you manually contact dispatch to do these kind of things (like pressing alt-f1 when you're at a traffic stop and alt-f2 when you're at any other callout to trigger the appropriate dispatch conversation), but I'm not skilled in that area.

Little conversation with dispatch
Sounds interesting and probably quite possible, though I'm not sure it'd be a high priority for the devs. Perhaps it might make for a good project when the modding API comes out.

Theft. Before the game makes it into the hands of an everyday customer, it has to come from manufacturers to suppliers to retailers, so it changes hands many times. More than likely it's at one of these points were someone has taken the game off a shipment/pallet/box. Alternatively, it might have arrived at retailers who have decided to ignore the release date (risking considerable fines) and sell it already. With the amount of hype a major release like this carries with it it's more or less certain that it will be leaked during this process, people can't wait until next Tuesday. Some may also be review copies but it's unlikely that a legitimate review source that has been sent the game are the same people leaking it. It's more likely that it has occurred along the supply chain.

It's because you've got it installed as police, police2 or police3, which are hard-coded in the game to have the siren objects rotate (usually this is used for rotators in lightbars). The fix is simply to move the car to a different slot. If you desperate need it to function properly in one of those slots I'll see if I can put a version together that will prevent that.

Jumped right into testing after seeing your message here edga, and looked again at DLer's suggestions of crashing after the windows were shot out Vehicle in the POLICE slot, and shooting with the pistol I did the following: Shot each window once -> they all cracked as they should Shot each window 3-4 times -> they all smashed (except for front windscreen which is a lot stronger) Shot each lightbar dome -> they all smashed as they should Shot rear indicators -> they smashed but will smash with the breaklight, i don't think you can shoot them individually Shot front indicators and headlights -> they smashed with one bullet as they should. This was with and without the strobes mod activated I didn't experience any crashes during the whole process. Are these once-off occurences or are you able to consistently do the same thing and get the same result (crash)?

vdH PoliceHelper 1.2.0 beta
Ah I had the baitcar issue happen again just now where they're supposed to be driving to a hideout but they end up crashing into everything and driving off the road and eventually dying or rolling the car. This happened in Schotler I think, a few streets away from the Hospital. They went around the block, then ran into the wall at the back of the hospital, tried to go up the hill and crashed, turned around and crashed, turn around again and crashed, and then floored it through the gap behind the hospital and ended up launching themselves onto the expressway, driving across all 4 lanes before going up the side and rolling. I'm running 1.2.1 Beta. Is there something on my end I might be able to play with to fix things? Actually maybe it has something to do with the custom map I had in and recently tried to uninstall. I'll try reinstalling PH fresh.
