There may have been around 500 vehicles in the procession today according to a city street worker I staged near as he was directing traffic, He was nice enough to let me know when the procession finally started moving as it started about an hour after the funeral service ended. The procession was around 65 minutes long from where I was standing which was around the halfway point. I am an avid emergency vehicle photographer, It excites me to get the chance to see emergency vehicles I have never seen before or may never get to see since my mobility is limited by not having a personal mode of transportation. That being said, I was excited to be able to get a chance to photograph vehicles at a place I never get to visit. but some moments of sadness did get to me when the fallen officers service vehicles and the vehicle they were in came by :'(

This past Saturday(the 10th) 2 Officers responded to a hang up 911 call, Possibly a domestic call as they had been called there in the past. Last thing the police want to do is chase someone into traffic and end up having the fleeing rider smash into a car crossing an intersection. This way, the police can silently cruise in from behind, use their helmet cam and look at the faces of some of the riders before the riders even catch on to whats going on, a helicopter wont do much especially if the riders scatter in different directions.

In Cleveland is is now becoming common to see large groups of riders zipping and speeding into and around traffic. Cleveland Police have a no chase policy and the illegal riders know this well, Even with the new bikes, CPD will not pursue but they do hope that helmet camera footage can help identify riders for later warrants should the riders scatter, As riders are on motor vehicles, they are obligated to stop for these officers which would then be issued a misdemeanor offense, but if the riders flee, then a felony warrant will be issued for those who can be identified later. I think this will be good for the CPD as they are now getting on a level playing field. CPD now has 3 of these BMW bikes that can be used both on and off road.

It wouldnt be impossible, but one would need to create something from scratch to hook up a control box to a computer, then create drivers for the peripheral to work with Windows, From there it might be as simple as assigning functions to each switch, Would possibly be easier using the kind I have as apposed to the SmartSiren posted above mine as there is less electronics to be dealt with in making each button function. But the bottom line is you need to know how to connect and solder wires and program stuff, but the process might not be cheap. It might be possible to buy a current generation federal signal box and an interface adapter/card(I think its similar to an RJ45 cable) for computer that can be used to program the box, but there is still the matter of programming it to work in game.

I dont get to travel much, But I was thrilled to have been able to photograph one of these in my city of Akron Ohio back in 2014, I hold a special place in my heart for out of state police cars, My holy grail(cars i want to photograph) for the longest time was a current generation police car from California Highway Patrol, Got to photograph one last year in Cleveland :) But I welcome all cars from all over the continent to come say hi in my neck of the woods :)

I have a chance to buy a Vector SL this weekend for $75, Its all amber and the seller is throwing in a 3 pod mini Vector as well(amber also) I believe the Vector SL was is a basic version compared to the Vision SL which uses a more featured control head to switch light patterns and stuff. Im surprised to see an amber bar for for so cheap, but then again, it might seem to be too much for an average amber light user(person who needs it for their job) Will keep this topic updated!

Clevelands parade is usually always on the last Friday of Police Week, Akron only sent a single motorcycle. Still no Federal Signal Vision SLRs in the area :'(

This day is honored all across the country in various forms ranging from Memorial Services in major cities to a Major Service held in Washington DC, Some of these communities might even have parades consisting of Pipes and Drums, Mounted Units, motorcycles, bicycles, and even police cars. I am honored to live near a city that has a parade every year, That city is Cleveland Ohio. Every year, Peace Officers from around the region and even Canada come to Cleveland to honor the fallen and disabled in the line of duty, The parade is followed by a memorial service where all the officers who came pay their respects. Last month I got my first camcorder and todays parade was the major event I wanted to record for the first time. A 3 floor fall can be easily survivable, depends on how you try to land and whats beneath you, in this case, most likely marble or concrete flooring, This guy must have gone head first and made sure he wanted to land that way, A 3 floor fall will land you in some kind of wheelchair, but He took the easy way out instead of of waiting up to 20 years for an execution date.
