Greetings LCDPFR, today I am releasing the GTA IV Alert Tones I use. The files replace the GPS DEFAULT.IVAUD and MALE_VOICE.IVAUD, completely removes the voice files and uses only tones. Now when you are dispatched there are custom alert tones that sound as soon as you are dispatched and several more times throughout your drive to the call. Features three tones used in several slots, the first one is recorded directly from a video taken from a ride along when the officer is dispatched and the other two are default Windows sound files, a lot of real life MDT's use similar Windows sounds to alert officers. To install, open gps.rpf and import DEFAULT.ivaud and MALE_VOICE.ivaud, save and close. In your AUDIO menu in GTA IV make sure you have GPS turned on for all cars, and under the Display menu make sure the GPS Route is turned on as well. NOTE: BE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR DEFAULT gps.rpf FILE BEFORE INSTALLING, THIS REMOVES THE GPS VOICE COMMS FROM THE gps AUDIO FILE [media=]
  2. Nice work. It would be awesome if you could get in touch with Braveheart and have it look up the database on the MDC hosted here on lcpdfr. That would really put this mod over the top!
  3. Sounds like one of the liveries is a transparent texture? Does the model use four liveries like the majority of police car mods? If so, export the skin you want on it then import it for all of the liveries in the wtd
  4. Looks like it could be related to the suspension settings in handling.dat?
  5. The Ped Texture Discoveries thread provides the needed information on naming and file structure to be used with the information given in Combining Ped Meshes thread. The clothes on the ped ARE models and he wants to specific a certain model doesn't wear a hat, those two threads has the information he needs to do so. It's quite obvious you haven't read the thread on combining meshes or you'd understand why I suggested he read it. Look man I'm not here to argue with anyone I'm trying to help him out and you're speaking on something you do not understand, as shown by contradicting yourself with your two replies to me. Anyways, Deputy.Donuts sorry to hijack your thread. Read Ped Texture Discoveries and Combining Ped Meshes, the latter will tell you how to simply modify a text file used to tell the game which components a ped uses, allowing you to remove the hat model from that specific ped without changing any actual content files.
  6. Wow, thank you for the amazing compliment marine. When I made this simple siren I never expected it would garner such a reaction from someone. It was simple, really. I believe GTA IV runs a constant loop of whatever tone is in the traditional Priority wav slot, and simple mutes/unmutes it when it's activated, whereas the Wail and Yelp WAV slots only start looping once they're activated and stop when they're not in use. The key to making the random wail tone loop perfectly is just to make sure it would loop perfectly in the other slots too, that's all thats needed. And the FS SS is pretty close in tone to the 80k, I'm curious as to how it sounds. Could you record a video for me? The only reason I didn't include a priority tone is because this is a 20+ year old siren and does not really have a priority tone, unless you count Hetro, which I can't find a good quality source to use. Anyway, I'm ecstatic you enjoy it so much. Just reaffirms in my mind that I should be modding GTA IV, I wasn't so sure when I started. I don't want to put my name behind any mod that I wouldn't thoroughly enjoy to use myself and I have pretty high standards for what I put in my game. Cheers!
  7. Ped texture discoveries and Combining Ped Meshes are NOT about modelling, they are about telling GTA IV which components a given model will use. In this case it applies to not having a certain face be able to use a hat.
  8. I'll see what I can do. All the files have been normalized to 0db, so if they get any louder they will start losing quality and start clipping.
  9. Read the two stickies at the top of this forum about peds.
  10. The model is by LtCain and can be found on GPM under the Luxart downloads. The skin is one I made yesterday afternoon but is not yet released.
  11. Oops! I should have remembered that but it's been a while. Also I just PM'd you because the MDC login page isn't working, keeps redirecting back to itself upon login
  12. Federal Signal Unitrol 480k Added to first post Real life FS Unitrol 480k in action
    • 1,118 downloads
This is the Unitrol 480k by Federal Signal. It features only Wail and Yelp, but with an interesting twist. The Yelp has been placed in the primary siren slot so when you activate the siren, it turns on Yelp while the other two slots are occupied by the Wail tone. What this does is when you activate the Wail tone, there's a chance that it will activate in the middle of the wind up/down loop and this is just how the real Unitrol 480k functions. Other than that it's just a good sounding siren, with flawless looping and good clarity.
  13. Yes, yours was the inspiration for mine, SC. I really liked yours but it was too loud for me, I like to run a police scanner while I play and I could not hear it over the siren! Also SC I'd like to apologize to you, publicly, as the original one I released contained your airhorn and ambulance_warning tones. I was brand new at modding GTA IV and did not stop and think that there were other wav files in the IVAUD that were custom, I was just thinking "Oh good I don't have to export the IVAUD to start replacing the sirens." Whether or not you noticed I don't know but once again, my apologies. Every mod since then I've been sure to start from an original GTA IV file before modding it.
  14. Greetings LCPDFR, this is basically a re-release of my Touchmaster Delta that I made a few months back. I was quite new to GTA IV modding and accidentally had included sound files from another HORNS.ivaud with the release. Also, I remade the Airhorn so it has the proper tone. Here's a video of me role playing a Code 3 response with it Download: Also being released is the Federal Signal Unitrol 480k. This siren has a long history of use with Police across the country, I believe dating back to the late 80s and is still in use and production today. In fact the city of Portland still buys and installs this siren for all their new patrol vehicles. Because of it being slightly dated, though rugged, it has only two tones, Wail and Yelp(The real siren has three more, modified Yelp and Hetro and HiLo). I've modified this siren in a manner so that it behaves the same way the real life 480k does, and that when the Wail is activated after using Yelp, there is a chance the Wail loop will start mid wind up/down. GTA IV allows for this because the Priority siren slot is in an always-on state from what I can tell, but muted unless you activate it. This siren has good clarity and loops flawlessly. FS Unitrol 480K Download: [media=] Enjoy and always remember to drive Code responsibly and safely. *MODS* Please edit the title of this thread to "Dramacydal503's Siren Release thread" I would GREATLY appreciate it!
  15. [media=] Tourman, I do use the GTAIVAUD tool. The issue with modifying the sirens is that GTA IV is very touchy about the file size. It doesn't seem to matter so much the sound quality of the file as the size. So you could have a 44khz WAV file and import it, and as long as it was short enough and the other sound files in the IVAUD weren't too big, there wouldn't be an issue. A standard Wail tone is about 5 seconds start to finish, so there you usually have the biggest file out of the sirens. The yelp file should be less than a second long, because GTA IV will loop it properly if you have edited the start and end points correctly, same with hyper yelp. What I'm getting at, is that in order to use a longer siren tone when you already have a 5 second wail loop, you have to seriously drop the audio quality. Anything less than 22khz IMO sounds pretty horrible, very lo-fi, otherwise you end up with the popping sounds. Also, if you're using Audacity, be sure to open up the WAV file after you've exported it, sometimes if you save it incorrectly it will tack on a few seconds worth of silence, this will ruin the IVAUD if you don't catch it before you put the file in and create the popping. For these reasons, along with the fact that Ultra HiLo can be programmed to be used as an individual tone on the real life Touchmaster(And is by a local department here), I have only included it instead of releasing the Scan tones demo'd on the Federal Signal website. If I do release a Touchmaster with the full scan for the POLICE_WARNING loop, it will have to be lo-fi and TBH, it will sound pretty horrible. For a side note, there's a plethora of sounds that the Touchmaster Delta can generate if you use the proper amp with it, it's a fairly flexible siren. Some agencies prefer to use the scan, some prefer the individual tones. Take a look on youtube for an extended clip of someone messing around with the Touchmaster and you'll see what I mean. I'm not saying you didn't know any of this, I'm sharing this with you just in case it's why you were asking about the scan tones. Cheers! Also, Thanks Dhruv, I'm glad you like it :)
  16. The new updates sound awesome I can't wait to try it out! I was out of commission for a while due to injury and the past couple weeks I've just been busy modding, but I look forward to trying out the new system! Sounds epic Edit: Would it be possible to divide the new Outstanding Calls section by area, possibly color coded in a manner similar to the priority? I tend to work one island when I load up LCPDFR and the MDC, and depending on whether or not I'm playing a sheriff deputy or city officer I either will work anywhere in the city or limit myself to certain neighborhoods. It would be nice just to glance at the outstanding calls on my laptop and immediately recognize whether or not a call is in my district. Perhaps where the Island/Section is in caps, it could also be a certain color, ordered top to bottom one island to the next. Perhaps you could tie it into the Officer Information, and display the areas they're assigned to at the top of the list and in green. I don't know if it's possible and it's just a suggestion. Also, I'm sure to have more suggestions as I get into and play with the new system... Keep up the great work Braveheart, this tool has definitely brought roleplay in LCPDFR to a new level. Hey look, another edit! I just found a problem. The prosecutor just kicked two cases back to me to confirm events of the police report, but the problem is I don't recall the particular incident and the way I work the cases is that I use the Actions Taken dialog to document what dispatchers generally log for the officers. En route, arriving, persons in custody, requesting cover, transport, etc. I don't enter in the details of the incident until I get to the crime report where I write an officer narrative. So the issue is that the prosecutor is asking whether or not the person fought with me or whether they were male or female, but I can't view the crime report I submitted now that the case has been sent back, since it does not show up in finalized reports nor in crime reports, I can only view the Actions Taken and original Call Details. Anyway to have it send back the crime report when the prosecutors request clarification?

This is the Federal Signal Touchmaster Delta siren, as the name implies. It features Wail, Yelp and Ultra Hi/Lo. Enjoy, and please drive Code 3 responsibly. [media=]
  17. I switch back and forth. I have three different agencies I use in game, skins and cars for each. I typically change the siren before I start playing to one of the three that they use depending on which car I'll be driving. Two of the sirens I use are ones that I made, I have a Federal Signal Unitrol 480k, which the Portland Police Bureau uses. I'll be releasing this one soon, by placing the Wail file in the third siren slot you can get it to start the loop mid-wind up/down, like the real 480k. Then I have the Federal Signal Touchmaster Delta which I made, I will be re-releasing this soon, as the hosting service I uploaded it to is no longer operational, this siren is used by the Multnomah County Sheriff. The last one I use is the Federal Signal Omega Delta which can be found on GPM and I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure that the Gresham Police department uses this one, it sounds very very close to the one they use if not, as well as the Multnomah County Sheriff. If you want to use a siren that your local PD uses, try and find videos of them Code 3 on youtube, then post it and ask someone which siren it is. There are a lot of good options out there and the sirens I'm going to release are not the loudest, but they are very clear and loop flawlessly.
  18. Hey I'm just glad you like it! I only started making skins last month. Enjoy it buddy! And thanks Bowers!
  19. For jdmkrazy, The 2012 Gresham Charger. I tried to do some creative editing to make it a little less plain but it didn't look good so I'm just going to give that to you as is. I'm unable to test it at the moment so if there are any errors please PM me and I'll get it fixed. Coming next, the new Portland Police Bureau CVPI design and for my next post, I shall organize this thread, yay!
  20. I just started using L3VO's enb last night with modified visualsettings.dat and slightly modified BLOOM and lightsprite settings taken from neolux's enb, it looks.. amazing. ELS is PERFECT
  21. You can make the game sounds louder, yes, but it's not a simple process. You'd have to extract the IVAUD files, which are contained in RPF files, then you'd have to open the IVAUD with another tool, extract the correct WAV files then edit them with an audio processing program, then reverse the process.
