OpenIV devs do everything in their power to not enable malicious mods that would lead to harassing GTA Online players. Which part of the Liberty City map affects that as well? Calling serious bullshit on this one.

I rarely check anything up here, since I almost exclusively use gta5-mods. I'll try to keep that in mind for next time. Working with IRL stuff is a pain in the ass though, you cannot force consistency all around the game world and it pisses me off to no end lol. Edit: I forgot to mention, no siren mods at all. Just dubbed it in later.

As far as I understand it, you're going to have to downgrade - at least until Scripthook gets updated.

The new update is better than anything in my opinion. RGSC was broken for the longest except for those few lucky guys. Now they will be able to play as well, on top of the fact you don't need command lines to run the game with good graphics options. I'd rather they give an old game love than abandon it totally broken.

So, GTA IV recieved an update, going from 1.0.7.0 to 1.0.8.0. Script mods as far as I know are totally broken. Patch logs are to follow: Added error code "WTV270" to indicate a problem with connecting to Windows Live Sign in Assistant / Games for Windows Live Servers. Added Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 to compatible OS check. Added Display Controller image in Controller Configuration. Fixed a bug which made completing "Out of Commission" mission impossible when frame rate exceeds 60fps. Fixed a bug with the "Resource Usage" indicator on graphics cards with more than 2GB of VRAM. Fixed a bug that restricted settings changes when using modern video cards. Fixed a bug with the map crosshair on certain resolutions. Fixed a bug with text scrolling in "Brief" Menu. The devs specifically said II plays out like a hollywood gangster movie... and it does. None of the Mafia games would really fall under the realism category. Merely certain story details and specifics but in general, the titles are heavily action oriented which includes a lot of exploding cars and killing an endless number of people. Games are games and it was done before as well. Jimmy's Vendetta? Wasn't anybody saying that ruined the series. JA? Just you running and gunning. Some even called it better than II itself. About strategy and teamwork... in III you also wound up with a team. Even members of the Mafia who got betrayed by their peers. Vito per example. A lot of the game you work with the crew you've got, so you're doing planning, strategy and teamwork. You got John Donovan running a lot of the intel and perp work before you even do an op. To be a game about the Mafia, you don't have to be working for them. It could be told from the PoV of an outsider as long as a heavy center point is the Mafia itself, which it is, and in great detail I migth add.

I hope you realize a lot of the shit in the previous Mafia games was also "lonewolf". Sure you might've been technically working for the mafia but a lot of time you didn't have backup of any sort with you or you were still running with just one guy. Guess what? Mafia III is also heavily based on the story, you gather quite a few helpful allies along the way. You know, a team? Then extract revenge. Sounds pretty much the same to me.

Yeah I can't say I support all of the BLM folk at all from what I've seen, but I sure as hell support the message it spurred on. It'd be nice if one day they could find common ground and serious talks could be established for all the problems going on..

It's like, I don't like rioting and burning up your own neighbourhood cos it only hurts yourself in the long run. But I am not surprised it happens when you've got so much poverty and government agencies acting out of control, plus getting away with a lot of it. There's only so long you can take that... Trust the pro-police fanatics to say police should train with live ammo though, because that's the safe thing to do with other people on the recieving end, right?

I agree, symptoms result of years and years of structucal inequalities should get way more coverage than what they do. Not to mention acknowledgement. Yet at the same time the unjustified UOF and other rampart corruption is an issue that should be covered to just as great lenghts, if not more considering how it can affect everyone, everywhere. Especially poverty ridden neighbourhoods where quite a few minorities happen to live. Police corruption, inequality will certainly ramp up crime in those areas. Cops need more MRAPs though. On another note, white on white crime is also a big thing. I'd like to pull this note from an article I read: "In this regard, black criminals are not particularly different.
