  1. That also appears to be an older edition of that model. His latest version is pretty spot on IMHO, and I see them almost daily IRL. I believe someone was also working on one of the new Dodge busses that are becoming more popular in the city. Last I saw it, it looked beautiful.
  2. Such a weird design! Nice to see a new spin on the classic B&W scheme. Very high quality looking though, looking forward to the release!
  3. Hey man I'm not about to call you a wannabe or anything, but I do honestly, genuinely wonder - Why spend all of that money on lights? That's a lot of money that could have been spent on [inevitable] fixes or further restoration of the car. As a former CVPI owner myself, lights would be pretty much last on the list of priorities if I was into that sort of thing. That's just me though. I believe I've mentioned this to you in the past, but again, as someone who has owned and used a CVPI as a daily driver, despite what the officers tell you, they can't speak for everyone, and you should expect to get a little more attention, especially with those lights installed and functional. I've been pulled over and even harassed a few times for that sort of stuff, and I never had any lights installed. I know your intentions are pure, but it's just something that is very often frowned upon. Anyway, I'm not trying to bust your balls, and I'm sure you've heard this stuff before, so just to wrap up: Be careful, and if you ever need any technical help (or parts even, I've got a bunch of CVPI parts laying around that I do need to get rid of), shoot me a PM and I'd be glad to help. Also.... how are you gonna run down this list of stuff and not show a video?! lol EDIT: Because you haven't installed them yet. I should read more carefully lol
  4. May I nitpick for a moment about a pattern? I love the new patterns, and I'm especially happy that we finally have accurate "SignalAlert" patterns (I believe it's E-20 and a few others). But here's where my OCD really kicks in. It kinda drives me nuts that on E-20, the inner modules on single flash sync up to the outer modules on SignalAlert. I wish there was a version of that pattern that didn't sync the inner and outer modules, like how it is on E-37 (one of my favorite patterns, and IMO probably the single most useful/realistic pattern). I realize just how ridiculous of a request this is, but if that could be implemented that would just be fantastic. But, it's just my OCD talking, so I don't expect much lol. And for those of you whom this is lost on, here's a link to examples of the flash patterns I'm talking about: http://www.whelen.com/media/flash_patterns/index.htm#

  6. Yeah, as I said in my original post, I was quite skeptical myself. However, the fact that it has been taken down by Take 2 (and that quickly might I add) is a bit suspicious. It's very possible that a dev of some sort recorded it on his phone (how would he record with FRAPS or similar while going unnoticed?) and that the mechanics required to fully use the mouse haven't been implemented yet (hence the use of a controller, and controller like movements). I dunno. At the end of the day none of this means anything anyway, and we're still just stuck here waiting. But I thought it was worth a share. lol EDIT: I knew I should have downloaded the vid! lol
  7. AdamP nailed it. NYC was ROUGH back in the day. Now it's more tourist-trappy, but as has been stated there are still some areas that most would consider "rough". Parts of East New York spring to mind. NYC has quite an interesting history as far as crime goes. Was a real hellhole, and before Giuliani moved in (correct me if I'm wrong), Times Square (yes, the home of Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve), otherwise known as "the Triangle", was actually not much more than a thriving red light district. Prostitutes, brothels, strip clubs, hard drugs, everywhere. You would walk down the streets and find all sorts of nasty stuff - used condoms, baggies, needles. Then Giuliani cracked down hard on all that stuff, literally physically moved all the crackheads and homeless up north, and completely re-gentrified the whole city. Now, as a result of the polishing of NYC, a lot of the serious crime and gang violence has moved to the suburbs. I'd like to introduce you guys to a little town called "Newburgh, NY". It's basically the modern equivalent of the 70's/80's Bronx. It's a small town just north of NYC a ways and it's home to some of the highest crime rates in the whole country. It's also the murder capital of NY. Some census sites rank it in the top 10 worst places to be - not surprising due to the saturation of gang members and vastly understaffed police force. From the outside, it looks like a typical quaint riverside village, but you have a one in SEVENTEEN chance of being a victim of a crime there just by walking down the street. Things have gotten so bad that the FBI has actually had to come in and help out. Do a Google search of Newburgh, NY if you'd like to know more.
  8. Though there are parts of the Bronx that you might just have to be a little crazy to walk into, you may be surprised to find that Manhattan is quite a bit more crime ridden than the Bronx. Check the statistics via Google. Note that I'm talking crime in general, not specifically violent crime. The Bronx is nowhere near as violent as Bohan, not even close. As a born and raised New Yorker myself, I'd also have to say that NYC in general isn't exactly the warzone you guys seem to think it is. There are a LOT worse places in the US in terms of crime, and NYC has really been cleaned up since the 80's. But maybe that's just cause I'm jaded and used to it all. As a tourist, I wouldn't want to venture too far from the tour bus either.
  9. Buddy of mine just sent me this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ipf9daRtVtc&feature=youtu.be Could it be? Haven't seen this posted anywhere else yet. Note the settings screen with the video memory information and level of detail choice etc. Now, I'm just as skeptical as anyone, assuming it's fake, but I'd say it's at least a decent fake. What do you guys think? Real? Fake? If it's real, should I even be posting this?... Hmm...

  13. Ok, so I tried Hog's solution. Removed the Init.asi, manually installed the taser, installed the .dll's. It's back up and running. I hit play on the main menu of the game, I get through one character splash screen, two, three, annnnnnd.... Grand Theft Auto IV has stopped working... Of course it has. So I tried throwing the Init.asi back in there. I hit Launch GTAIV, hit Play (Offline), click OK, and... Grand Theft Auto IV has stopped working... Uh.... next suggestion anyone?
  14. Good to know I'm not alone. My logs are empty, but I think it may be useful if I include my specs as well, so: I'm running... Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit Ram: 11 GB (yes, 11) Video Card: nVidia GTX 280 CPU: First gen Intel i7 920 @2.67GHz
  15. So, Let me start this by saying I know you guys are working hard on getting this right, and I really appreciate the efforts put forth. I know it must be a little disappointing seeing so many problems arise so quickly, but I don't blame you guys. You've built the best mod for the worst port ever; things like this are gonna happen, and I understand that. lol Anyway, so I think I've got a new problem. And it may not be answerable, and it may just be a fluke, but I figured it was worth noting. Made a fresh install of 1.0.7.0, didn't change anything save for adding SNT, ELS v7 and swapping out the default police cars for Lt. Caine's ELS-enabled versions. Tried an auto-install on another GTAIV directory prior to this, and gave up on it after I received the "Loader.Loader" bug. This time around, I did the manual install, step by step into the new, fresh GTAIV directory. Still working fine, but I'm still getting the "Loader.Loader" bug. So, I figured it must've been something else. I changed the whole directory from Read-Only to... well, not Read-Only. I ran it as an admin. Same bug. So I figured maybe I needed to update my C++ and .NET redistributables. Did that, and now when I hit "Play (Offline)", it straight up crashes immediately, giving me an ambiguous "Grand Theft Auto IV has stopped working" error. Then, the same error pops up again, and upon closing them both, a little bubble on the bottom right pops up and tells me it was stopped to prevent data execution. Sure. I have a feeling this one's unanswerable, but like I said, I also felt it worth sharing. Playing this game is like being stuck in an abusive marriage. Keep your chins up, boys, and thanks for your time!
  16. Free of charge you say? God, think of all the money I've been wasting on these free downloads on here... If you're any good, I've got some parts that need making if you're up for it.
