I've never had this problem before when making my sirens. All I can say is to try remaking them using a different source for your audio. Maybe your files are just being screwy.. I know it isn't really a fix to your problem but it's probably the easiest thing to do.

Actually, I'm sorry. I'm thinking ELSv6. I apologize. In single player, for ELSv7 the manual siren (T) and the manual horn (Y) will make traffic pull over. The ELS siren will not do anything. I cannot speak for multiplayer, I haven't really played around with it.

That's correct. In multiplayer only you will hear it and AIs won't respond to it either.

Day 14:

I'm thinking it might have something to do with your video memory.. like the longer you play the game the more it's trying to remember and starts to lag. Did this just start happening?

Just be sure that the car will still handle okay. If it doesn't come with a handling line than you may have an issue. If it does be sure to put the handling line in the same place as the car. Just a tip!

Hopefully it is a texture loss problem. If lowering your settings still doesn't fix anything it may just be easiest to reilstall your game.

I occasionally have that problem with IV. I just reload the game and it fixes. Also if you have Trainer look at your settings and make sure you're not invisible by default.

Open SparkIV and open your vehicles.img. Then find the .wtd file of the car which you wish to install the skin on. Click it once then click edit. It will open all the textures used on that car. There should be four (4) different skin textures. Click one of them and then import the one you wish to replace it with.

Well if you're trying to replace the ambulance siren tone than the sound file cannot be anymore than 1-2 seconds. You also have to make sure you are saving it at the proper frequency of 44100Hz. Lastly make sure it is in the correct format of '16-bit PCM mono.' As for the software, I use Audacity to edit, save it in Goldwave so GTA reads it, and import it using GTA-IVaud. I have version 1.1.5. Try updating: http://www.gta4-mods.com/tools/gta-ivaud-v115-f3996 If you still cannot get it to work I'd be more than happy to look at the files and try for myself.

I've experienced this same problem. Although I don't have any siren in a multiplayer session, whether it be ELS or 'actual game'. I thought I must have missed something too because this is dumb.

Are you trying to extract a zip folder with WinRAR?

Are you sure this wasn't transparent before? ^

It's definitely possible. I'd make things a whole lot easier.
