useless means i cant use it. dont they teach context in schools anymore? no idea who you are talking to so i'll assume its me? microsoft advises against anything that doesnt net them money. if you want to get into that discussion; i surely dont. further, gta4 works, els7 is not a separate application. it uses exising gta loaders to function just like thousands of other mods made for this game. the only way it wouldnt work is if somebody didnt want it to or if there is some one in a million chance there is a netfx compatability (xp goes to 3.5 and vista+ 4.0, but dont quote me on that), though this is not disclosed in the documentation. You would think something like that would be said first off so we would havent these threads popping up. now, for the bunch of people who have the key capture issue with asi mods on windows7, that makes this the 3rd version of els without windows7 support (due to no fault of caine and team so no im not blaming them at all for that) AND the first without windows xp fall back support (which is bad news for us xp people who can't use asi in 7 for whatever bloody reason) im just saying, no need to downplay an obvious technical issue here. it's the developers choice how they make their mods and it's the users choice how they use them and if. i have no issues staying with 6 indefenitely but when people make stupid comments like "oh man u shud upgrayed yo cuz os iz old" it shows a level of arrogance that is beyond neccessary. Just because it works for you it doesnt mean there arent legitimate reasons it isn't working for others.

are you sure? ofc you arent! same goes for everybody else. win7 has an issue with ASI key capture mods. it doesn't happen on all computers but on enough of them if you search around; its an old issue with no solution going back years (and els 5 and 6, as it is an asi mod). the event viewer bug that has been documented does not apply to gta4 asi, so that isn't a fix like for other games where keys dont work. since els7 broke windows xp support, i consider the release useless at this point.

yep keys not working for all. should be pretty easy for luxart to see what he changed from v6/5 in terms of key capture

i cannot will not use dsound! ever! hate it. and it doesn't solve my issues anyway. just kills my saved games. anyway it does work on windows 7 except that my windows 7 has an issue with ASI keys (see thread for info). so that's awesome. can't use els7 on either 7 or xp now. back to 6 i guess.

they are on and it doesnt work no keys relating to els respond... and thats on xp so we cannot claim win7 key bug on this on. blah ok it doesnt appear to even be loading into gta. does it even work with xliveless?

you quoting it and inserting your "wisdom" keeps it alive, so your purpose is clearly to initiate a shitfight.

no issues with spark. Im using .4 the only thing ive noticed is that it doesnt like to edit multiple files at a time or go back and forth into the same file for texture replacement; workaround is to restart spark before working on each new file, else it tends to not import textures.

the problematic os is win7 64 ultimate. all those common checks have been done months back with no difference. i even tried another xliveless asi loader today (not easy to find apparently); no change. something is causing it.. maybe in another few months i'll have an answer? no key issues with xp under which i play gta.. this is the only game that does that, and thats the first time i ever see something like it. but like i said, might not even be the game. keys are registered, its the asi scripts that don't pick them up properly. asi scripts that do not require input operate as intended

I feel it is important to update this in case somebody ever looks into the issue from a technical angle; im no programmer nor do i have the source codes to even outsource a solution to somebody who knows what to do... Alright after plugging at it on and off all this time, i have more information 1. it affects ASI mods. SNT, ELS etc. ASI mods that use keys. SNT will generally ignore the "5" key (aka enter/execute key) unless i hold it down for a second or so. then it will eventually register it. all other keys work under SNT as expected. 2. same with the ELS keys except all ELS keys are affected by the ghost as i now call it. the menu won't come up because you can't apparently send a constant ALT-M signal until it picks it up like you can with a single key hold. 3. all nonresponsive keys respond instantly in the console in game! so the game sees them, just the asi mods have an issue with them. for some reason Event Viewer has been known to cause some issues with keys in gta under win7 so i disabled that.. i installed every imaginable framework and what not microsoft has ever made. nada. disabled a bunch of other windows processes in case it was something that hijacked my key commands.. nada. removed any other languages i had, screwed more with system settings to ensure there was not a mismatch in keyboard/region between my os and gta. no dice. and more i find pointless to list. so at this point i am thinking something with the asi loader or something with how it handles virtual keys (the numerical to actual translation aka the keycodes snt and els use in the .ini) in addition to something in windows 7 or at least certain specific builds that causes that. i still have no idea why it works for some and not for me, but doing a deep webs search im not the only one. kanyo also posted about it over at gpm.. did you ever get it resolved?

Thats a save game issue. Game is trying to load something that isn't there, or is there in a different form. The savegames you were using were apparently saved with/without that thing there, now the game gets confused. yes it can be a texture saved in a particular state (car liveries are a classic one)

in america and canada urban areas, there are more police than anyone knows what to do with. they keep hiring due to political reasons because there is the public mindset that more cops = safety. truth is, most of them have *nothing* to do. and they work rotating shifts of 2 on 3 off with insane vacation time. there are exceptions but that's the norm. so when there is a pursuit or an event, it is literally the only time most of them will ever get to do anything and they all join. there is also a big "see me fear me" mindset which means that when there is an event, all agencies within physical distance MUST send a few units to join in, for the media coverage, so they can get their livery on there and show presence. for instance, county pursuit. all 5 cities in said county join in for no actual reason. over in europe police is often under much more centralized control diminishing the need for this "competition" between departments. but in the US literally any town, as long as they can pay for it, can get their own police force/fire/ems. throw into the mix university police (the latest fad!) and you have even more agencies fighting for screen time

janes was the bomb. sadly they never got the flying and fighting part together. they always chopped the flying realism. but still they made good stuff. one that shows some potential now is city car driving/3d car sim. its russian and a bit vanilla in stock form, but the devs release car packages all the time for free. you can now rip it on the russian highways like in the youtube videos. it is the only game that i know of that has real automatic transmission. downshifts based on load and rpms and so forth. youtube the benz s65 videos with it. for the record the demo (ahem "free") versions are now obsolete and do not support the car packs or the transmission features. more for the record, buying the game is a bit akward due to their merchant setup but they are trying to get steam to carry it...

That is something is it not? You see images, there is something. Whether its a chipset or a separate card. But explain how you integrate VGA into the CPU. INTEL/AMD would love to know. Integrated graphics are actually part of the motherboard, by means of a small vga chip stuck on there, and usually uses slow RAM as memory, though some have built in dedicated higher speed one (most laptops nowadays)
