  1. I'd like some sort of money or experience/rank system - as long as it was customizable and/or controllable. I find it strange that I still have a lot of leftovers from my single player save. First thing's first, though - fixes, API, databases and core systems need to be rock solid. Options for the player need to be laid out - XMLs need helpful comments to guide users. I've heard the project moves very slowly - I hope things are getting rolling, as I don't think it needs to take 3 years to get the community's feedback and get a few sprints in for some fixes and laying out a roadmap for future updates and changes.
  2. I think that the reason that this happens, as well as the suspicious amounts of people driving cars that aren't actually theirs and the little things that never seem to add up with PEDs bugging out has to do with the callout system, the PED management system and database, and perhaps the way LSPDFR handles things to begin with with it comes to plugins requesting information. I mentioned this in another thread, but I definitely think there's something really wrong when a callout, a plugin, or something requests a PED's ID. When does it generate a PED? When does it store a ped? How does a plugin know that the ped it wants is already stored? I don't think LSPDFR has all of these questions answered, as the strange behavior behind generating ID and PEDS is causing a lot of bugs and even the occasional NPE with callouts and plugins. I hope this gets fixed up and improved in the next version, which I hope is soon.
  3. Is it safe to add station interiors and still retain the functionality of LSPDFR points for going on duty/changing out/garage at stations? I'd like to have every station have an interior, but I'm unsure if it will conflict.
  4. There's no special data attached to any item in STP. This is just one of those features that could use a real structure at a lower level for other plugins to use them. Right now we have a loosely-connected constellation of mods/plugins that are interesting, but would benefit from being closer to the engine.
  5. Well, I had replaced all of the files in the addonbase replacer kit into dlc.rpf. I coped the dlc rpf into the folder like so many cars I've done already adn thenn got in with opennIV and started editing things up. I got as far as getting a successful spawn command, but no spawn. Thinking that something was missing - I messed with the content file and broke it completely, then tried adding annd fixing up more things, following the guide and additions, looking at other cars for guidance - but none of it worked.
  6. Tried to do the replacer conversion again recently, but I'm stumped. I had it working for a second where the game would load and I'd attempt to spawn it - only to spawn nothing. I went back, made some changes, and now the game won't load, giving me the "corrupt" message. Completely stumped.
  7. I've never gotten vehicle or PED lookup to work without already having PED ID through a callout. Is something wrong? I'd like to be able to just enter anyone's name or their vehicle's plate and it either returns that PED/plate's info or gives me a "not found". It seems like I can't even enter a PED or vehicle I have encountered or dismissed, but works somewhat better on callouts or if I have their ID.
  8. Question: Does the parking ticket function have any functionality with LSPDFR+ or Computer+? Does it even do anything? What does it do?
  9. Vehicle Storage: I have a vehicle that I spawned, modified, and saved to the apartment garage. When you restart the game, it reappears as its default red configuration, but with the modifications already in place - except the livery. I noticed that - a modified Diletantte will save perfectly, including a unique plate that even returns my own ownership - this car does not. It has the default plate, as well. Is this a problem at the vehicle.rpf level? or an issue with LSPDFR? Empty Console Arguments Crash: Providing an empty argument to a console function should only give a friendly error message. This might be a ragepluginhook thing, but it's important to always code functions/subroutines/methods/hoohahs to handle empty arguments, especially in console. Settings and Choice for Players: Is it possible for us to choose/config which apartment we will use for our characters? Can we include an configuration option that sets the default start timeofday? Is it possible to fix the game so players can create a list of personal vehicles? (I'm aware GTA5 has problems storing vehicles in garages correctly...) Can we get more teleportation commands with helpful autocompletes for various locations in the world? Is it possible that we could passively identify our fellow police officers as they are on duty? It'd be nice to put names to faces. Identification system, PED Tracking and storage - CALLOUT AND PLUGIN CREATORS BEWARE: It seems to me that there's several mods that try to access data that should be stored first in LSPDFR, but there's a critical problem with identification and tracking where you can get/generate/delete the ID of a PED, which causes problems when callouts go over large areas or start involving PEDs having to be "re-detained." This duplicates or even unintentionally mutates them in some cases. As well, there's a lot of mods that could use the functionality of whether or not you actually HAVE identified a PED. I can PED-check someone in smartpoliceradio without even having their ID. Several mods will put crime information into a computer, exposing PED identity without explanation or without having properly acquired their ID (unless it's something like a warrant callout). I think this might also explain several errors and crashes that may arise from plugins trying to access PEDs at different times. This could be for anything from current behavior/state to their name/ID. PEDs should be as persistent as possible - or even given prioritized levels of persistence. Even though it's unlikely we'd ever see a given random PED ever again, especially if they are arrested and jailed, the game losing track of them and their vehicle, or their own inventory is creating errors/crashes/logical problems with plugins and callouts. Interoperability and Properly Extending Core Functionality: Without having the project be open source, it's hard for me to dive in to dispel any assumptions about what's going on, but the constellation of plugins we have at this point make it difficult to properly extend PEDs and items that should be attached to them inside a PED, crime, or other database. I can easily envision every PED having an searchable list of items provided we understand the API and have agreed is extensible enough to support illegality, ID/notID items, cost, value, types, and other data. It would most certainly make everyone's job easier if LSPDFR merged these features into the base mod in order to move the platform as close to ragepluginhook or the rage engine as possible. The best candidates are court system and inventory system. The problems that result from not doing this? Well, Ever since installing LSPDFR+, I've lost use of the regular computer system, which it doesn't aim to even replace. This is obviously a problem with the plugin first and the base mod second, but I feel like attention should be paid to grant proper access and control over LSPDFR features - otherwise extend them to include those features. Stepping on toes should not come before making the game work better. Please be more transparent and active: Finally - We have a pretty neat community here, so please be more active with current work on LSPDFR and involve us and our talents as much as you can. I can understand certain reasons for the team to not go open source, but getting fast and relevant and constant feedback and testing on development would be great for everyone. Glad to be here and hoping to make myself useful!
  10. ESSENTIAL: LSPDFR+ StopThePED SmartPoliceRadio Computer+ TrafficPolicer Ultimatebackup CONTENT: LSPDFR Comes Alive AssortedCallouts AttemptedCrimeCallouts
  11. Anyone get this one? I get it regularly with StopThePED and some of my traffic callouts. I think it has something to do with LSPDFR, StopThePED, and perhaps the callout. I've included a trace in case it might be useful.
  12. I learned a lot today by messing with various standalone mods - not sure why people don't convert over to that as much as possible. Now I just need to move onto multi-file add-ons, which I find a bit mysterious soon. Then maybe I'll understand replacers to add-ons. I even figured out how to get my new police vehicles into LSPDFR. Now, I wanna try to get vehicles to spawn with regular traffic. Not sure what mod is best for that. If anyone feels very magnanimous and helpful - a standalone add-on of that Police Prius mod would be a golden contribution to the cause.😄
  13. I decided to try this process with an add-on vehicle just to see. https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/pegassi-vacca-lspd This guy was just adding the folder with the dlc.rpf to mods and adding the line to the mods update.rpf. Done. It worked. What am I missing, here? The prius was renamed in all relevant parts, so I'm pretty confused that all those files are necessary...
  14. I'm looking this over, but your process doesn't match what I'm looking at. I don't have the same folders in mods. I don't see how it jives with the tutorial I was first given. I don't get why the work wasn't done to begin with with even a commented lines in the relevant XMLs. The guide is very ambiguous in several places. I might not have had my coffee, yet, but a lot of times I'm not sure what sections or lines your referring to, even though you're trying to be general enough to teach this process. I'd say it needs work to be as clear and instructive as it can be. Why do so many files in this game have duplicative data? If you're editing a single or select few dlc file, why include another 32 gig file inside your pack when you can just have a relevant line to add to the file and just tell people: "Add this line to this filepath->File via OpenIV"? Why does every car I download have data for all the cars in the game? That makes it so much harder to know what lines I'm copying and pasting when most of that is already done by virtue of the files being included in what you downloaded, anyways? Very confused. Now I have a collection of edited files in this vehicle but now I'm unsure if they're even prepared to be dragged someplace because of all the duplicative elements.
  15. Trying to get this Police Prius into my game as a new police vehicle for Los Santos. https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/toyota-prius-police-replace-wipers-template And I was pointed to this: https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/add-on-base But I had some trouble with it, especially after realizing the video was out of date compared to the mod and procedure. I'm about to give it another shot, but thought I'd ask around to make sure this process would work with these two sets of files. Anyone have any advice?
  16. Trying to make this work more seamlessly with Computer+. How can I more clearly define crimes for the court system? It seems like I don't have enough input to add to both mods, which results in very unstable sentences between both court cases. Also - I didn't know this at first - but callouts with a crime attached that get sent to the court system often file that crime for you - something that should be told to the player. What would be best is if it was easy to extend this mod's list of crimes and offenses and categorize them more easily for both citations and arrests like Computer+ tries to do. Perhaps allow players to define more parameters in the line of the xmls in order to make more controlled outcomes in court. Right now it seems very very wild and not the best platform for future porting to multiplayer environment. TL;DR: More control. More crimes. Better organization. More collaberation with Computer+ and LSPDFR.
  17. Okay - Added some items, validated the XML, wrapped it in a rar. Should be totally fine, now!
  18. Common occurrence - a lot of the time I finish any callout - the amount of PEDs arrested is consistently double the ones involved. Running: Base mod LSPDFR+ Ultimate backup StopThePED TrafficPolicer PoliceSmartRadio AssortedCallouts AttemptedCrimeCallouts Computer+
  19. I didn't see a button assignment to close the radio when open, but having that would be really good so I could have 2 to close, 8 to open, 5 to select, 4 and 6 to scroll. EDIT: Oops. Didn't realize the open button doubled as close. My bad.
  20. Would be nice if I could make a single set of defined crimes between this and LSPDFR+ - I feel like anyone making content for these two mods have to do double the work. If possible - perhaps pull crime definitions directly from LSPDFR+'s court system? This would require work but be much cleaner process and insure that more work doesn't need to be done in Computer+ to support more types of crimes or updates to the crime system. (also, easier to make content!) Anyone else getting flickering when the background is up? I just turn it off, but it feels like performance could be improved, here.
  21. Yup, You're right - Computer+ definitely makes the thing work. Although I'd say having to define my crimes twice is a pain in the ass. Computer+ should draw only from LSPDFR+'s definitions, since the court system belonged to that mod. It means double the work to create/edit content for both mods. I don't think LSPDFR+'s citations get registered in its own court system outside of specific callouts. If both of those mods organized themselves a bit better - it'd be perfect. As it is, the river can't flow both ways. It's great, though. I made Sorcery a crime (LOL):
  22. I got rid of ArrestManager, as I enjoy searching and finding things with STP - it's just more fun that way, even if STP needs some more work. I've heard mixed things about Computer+. Really good, but doesn't play nice with others. I'll wait to see how the base mod and others mature.
  23. Currently having some trouble between ArrestManager, StopThePED, and LSPDFR+. What's installed right now: Base Mod (of course) LSPDFR+ SmartPoliceRadio ArrestManager StopThePED TrafficPolicer UltimateBackup AssortedCallouts That's all. I feel like there's something I've missed in configuration because I get a lot of problems with conflict warnings and crashes - particularly with STP. - My court doesn't work. People aren't going not court except for select callouts. - Getting ID, especially more than once - big pain and causes crashes. - Grabbing PEDs results in....a lot of crazy problems with animations and states. - Calling certain services sometimes results in errors where things poof or crash.
  24. Thanks for that - helps a bit. 1. Figured out how to fix up key assignments for most mods, but I'm unsure if I can bind to the *mouse*. Would appreciate some help on that topic. 2. It's pretty clear LSPDFR found a way to add menus and menu items - why not extend them to include tooltips and descriptions, as well as the capability for plugins to display their own controls? 5. I mean in the sense that the UI needs to show that much more clearly - it doesn't even match functionality between plugins, which SHOULD conform to a standard. 6. I noticed in your post that you deleted ArrestManager and kept StopThePED. I'm going to try this, as Those two mods have made getting ID and processing PEDS a chaotic and buggy mess. The basic Process I'm trying to get down without problem: Pull over Run plate Run the RO (can't - the computer often doesn't work.) Get out Greet the PED (there's at least 3 ways to do this with LSPDFR and +, STP, and AM - they all jam into each other!) Get ID (This causes problems, as the various mods have trouble tracking if you've gotten ID information nor not once you mod past the base mod) Do things Run the ID in computer (doesn't work with my current config, I end up leaning on the SmartPoliceRadio which cheats a little.) Charge PEDS/Cite them with anything (Also tough right now for me, as + is limited or I'm missing possible crimes.) Dismiss (Some mods auto dismiss on Citation, some dismiss only once dismissed.) Check Court Later (Nothing happens...only specific callouts trigger court? IDK) I feel like, without telling all the tracing of bugs and experiences I've had so far, that one of the big problems with LSPDFR and plugins is that there's little documentation about how it all works, how plugins should USE systems and what standards they should conform to in terms of how controls and contexts should work. There should be serious effort on this - because it seems like I have 3 mods that do the same thing and getting in each other's way despite wanting to support each other's functionality - all because LSPDFR isn't strongly defining or structuring how the game/system is supposed to work. Anyways, I'm sure I'll figure out more as I keep searching. As someone with programming skills, I feel like I could help if I'm able to.
  25. Looks like that's what I'll do - when I drop the next version I'll add a few more items and package it in a rar. I'm sorry for everyone that has been trying and not getting the file. Definitely works, though! Once it's patched in, that is.
