noobcrafting reacted to Cyan in Update roundup and summary for GTA Patch v3258
Hello everyone! As you’ve seen, the new “Bottom Dollar Bounties” update introduces several new vehicles that we’ve integrated into LSPDFR. Alongside these additions, there have been a few behind-the-scenes changes necessitating updates from developers for their mods.

In this news post, I’ll outline the updates for the most commonly used mods in the LSPDFR community and provide guidance on what needs updating. While the focus is on the LSPDFR community, I’ll also include general information beneficial to any user of GTA V modifications.

    LSPDFR and RAGEPluginHook (RPH)
Both LSPDFR and RAGEPluginHook required updates for this new patch:
The fixes are included in LSPDFR build 8943 and RPH 1.110, both of which are part of the latest LSPDFR download. This update includes support for the new “Bottom Dollar Bounties” vehicles, adding five new police vehicles to the default LSPDFR loadout. Additionally, it includes general quality-of-life fixes from our maintenance branch, reduces the spawn chance of the gauntlet, and addresses an oversight allowing the gauntlet to spawn for prisoner transport. Update 30th June 2024: Microsoft Defender has incorrectly introduced a false positive detection for RPH in a recent definition update. If you're affected, you'll see RPH briefly mentioning 'Verifying Hook' and crash. It may not be sufficient to just exempt your GTA folder; To start RPH, it may be necessary to temporarily disable your AV. You can re-enable your AV when RPH starts and hooks successfully.

    Scripthook V (SHV)
SHV typically requires an update for each new patch. Alexander Blade, the creator of SHV, has updated his hook, available on the Scripthook V page. Many non-LSPDFR modifications rely on SHV, so updating is essential.

    Emergency Lighting System (ELS)
Well, this is the update that finally broke ELS! However, luckily the file that needed an update was @LMS’s AdvancedHookV.dll library. This new file, which you’ll need to use ELS on the new patch, is available from the ELS download page.
To install it, download the AdvancedHookV_b3258.zip file and extract the included AdvancedHookV.dll into your game folder.

    SirenSetting Limit Adjuster (SSLA)
Users have reported SSLA causing game crashes. If you use RPH, your game might crash during the "Initializing Game Support" stage. To resolve this, remove SirenSetting_Limit_Adjuster.asi from your game folder until an update becomes available.

    Community Scripthook V .NET (SHVDN)
The latest game update also caused problems with SHVDN, including crashing when trying to open the SHVDN console, and scripts refusing to load. The fix for this and other SHVDN issues are included in their nightly builds, which you should install if any of your mods use or require SHVDN.

    OpenIV File Mods (mods folder)
If you’ve installed file mods through OpenIV, you’ll probably need to at least update update.rpf in your mods folder. This usually involves deleting the file and recreating it, and reinstalling any modifications that you put into that file. This is the downside of using the OpenIV mods method, unfortunately.

    LML File Mods (lml folder)
If you’ve installed file mods through LML, you won’t need to reinstall or update your mods in general.
Just make sure you've got the latest LML gameconfig.xml, which you can find here:

    gameconfig.xml
Please note that using an outdated modified gameconfig.xml will crash loading into story mode. An updated gameconfig.xml can be found on GTA5-Mods.

    Other Honourable Mentions
Heap Adjuster, PackfileLimitAdjuster, and Weapon Limits Adjuster do not require updates at this time and should continue to function normally if installed.

This post summarises the most common LSPDFR-related modifications and their updates. If you continue to experience issues, it’s likely specific to your setup rather than a widespread problem. For assistance, visit our Community Support forums and check common problems and solutions, or make a new thread reaching out to our volunteer community for further help.

This is a short list that I'll be trying to keep up to date of issues we are seeing, and how you can resolve them. It's still a work in progress and we'll be adding new information as we go.
I'll seperate each category of issue in a spoiler, and you can click the spoiler to show the issues and fixes in that category.

Launching LSPDFR and going on duty
RAGEPluginHook / LSPDFR causes GTA to crash to desktop

LSPDFR takes too long to load and I get a black screen, or RAGEPluginHook stops it from loading (terminated because it caused the game to freeze)

LSPDFR crashes when I load with an 'STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER_1: Invalid entry point. (Code: 87)' or EasyHook error in my log file (older versions)

LSPDFR crashes when I load/reload with a 'System.IndexOutOfRangeException' in my log file (older versions)

LSPDFR crashes when I go on duty

I can't go on duty with 'ForceDuty' console command and it's the first time I'm playing LSPDFR 0.4

LSPDFR crashes on start with an SystemAccessViolation in the log and my OS language is set to Turkish (older versions)

LSPDFR crashes on start and my log file mentions something to do with a System.ValueTuple

LSPDFR's Pause Menu doesn't work -- only the 'Stats' menu is shown

    Character System

My police officers don't have badges or holsters/LSPDFR only has one police outfit

    LSPDFR Sync

LSPDFR Character doesn't show on the website

I can't connect to the LSPDFR Sync service

I can sync my character, but activity does not show

    Controls
Problems when using a PS4 Controller

    Other Plugins and Mods
Crashes whilst using LSPDFR/RPH in conjunction to Scripthook V .NET (Event Viewer shows a c00000fd Error)

An LSPDFR update has been released and now my plugins don't work

    Other Issues

The game world starts to disappear when I go on duty or load LSPDFR

Due to an issue detecting the Visual Studio 2015 Redistributable, RPH does not start on arm64 systems/VMs (e.g. Macs with VMware/Parallels)

The RPH console is blank (F4 menu does not display), and I have a 4xxx or 5xxx series NVIDIA card

LSPDFR 0.4 uses more memory then 0.3, likely due in part to the new ambient spawning system.

However, by itself, it still runs fine. Custom cars however, are significantly higher poly then the vanilla vehicles, and have significantly larger texture files (In total, they tend to be 7x-10x larger). The issue seems to happen independent of hardware, and appears to be an issue with memory limitations the game imposes.

The best solution, is to only use vanilla, and vanilla sized vehicles.

However, you can get by using custom vehicles, but it's going to take a lot of testing to find a comfortable medium.

Step 1) You start by editing the LSPDFR ini, and change preloadmodels from "true" to "false"

Depending on the custom cars you have installed, this may be enough. If it isn't,

Step 2) Use a program such as paint.net, to change the texture sizes of the vehicle textures. Many people aim at the vehicle skin (Changing them from 4k to 2k for example), however you can lower any texture, and good targets are excessively sized textures for small items not directly in view)

Just changing the skin sizes may work, or it may not.

If changing the texture sizes doesn't work,

Step 3) Start removing custom vehicles altogether. This doesn't mean remove all of them, but try removing extra's, that exist only for the purpose of variety, that also go beyond the vanilla slots.

Hello everyone sorry if this is in the wrong area or there is already a post about this (this is my first time posting)

I was playing LSPDFR .4 with radiance V and Redux installed and noticed that when I went on duty I started to experience really bad missing/blurry textures that I wasn't experiencing while off duty here are the steps on how I managed to fix this problem.

    1. Open up your main GTA V directory and click on the LSPDFR folder

    2. Open the lspdfr.ini and make sure  Main.PreloadAllModels is set to false, once that's done save and close it.

That's it, you can now start GTA up again and head back on patrol (this time without any texture loss)
