  1. I'm getting this error when spawning the 2014 FPIU vehicle: ERR_STR_FAILURE_3 Never had this error before. What causes that?
  2. Does 'Plate Check' folder go into GTAV/lspdfr/audio/scanner ?
  3. The instructions in the Read Me file shows the incorrect path. The CORRECT path to the file that is to be replaced is: mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday2ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf
  4. Noticed this mostly at night. What happens is that the scenery textures will randomly flash on and off. Sometimes buildings will disappear and reappear. At one point, a highway overpass had disappeared and still had moving traffic on it. Kinda cool because for a few seconds, I saw flying cars. What's causing this? I'm using Make Visuals Great Again - but it was doing this before I installed this environmental addon. i7 7700k with 1070 GTX Nvidia graphics card & SSD
  5. Yeah, I noticed that too. I need to investigate further. But I have seen this a couple of times now
  6. Hmmm... so when all the stages are turned off, there's a steady burning red light showing... I'm assuming this is showing up on the lightbar. That sounds like there is a setting in the ELS file that needs to be changed. This is one of the reasons why I use a brand new (blank) ELS file that has no wonky settings in it. It's so that I can make my own settings. There's a blank ELS file with the default settings configured in it. You can find the default ELS file inside the ELS folder. When you're inside that folder, go to the 'pack_default' folder and then finally the '@ unused' folder. Use the 'sample vcf' file and rename it the same name of the car you're replacing. For example, if you're replacing the 'police2' vehicle with a new ELS one, you need to rename the 'sample vcf' to 'police2'.
  7. Oh, I misunderstood. Is this an ELS vehicle you are using or a non-ELS?
  8. Yes, that's the way the actual CHP cruisers operate the lightbar.
  9. I need to edit the vehicles.meta file because the windows and lightbar of the vehicle are dark/black. It seems like there are multiple 'vehicles.meta' files coming up when searching for them in OpenIV. How do you know which one to make the edit on the diffusetint tag?
  10. I dont have any screenshots of it during the game. But it does show up in the game with those marks as well.
  11. What causes this? I can tell which part of the model the black is coming from. But it looks terrible. It clearly doesn't seem to be from my texture. Because, the black is still there from the base template.
  12. This is only happening with this vehicle? The Tahoe? 1) First question is in regards to your install method. Did you just unzip the file and drag the files into the patchday folder? No renaming of the files or anything like that? Which patchday folder did you put the files in? 2) Did you add any of the other vehicles? I noticed that there are 2 different Tahoes in each of those zipped packages. There's a 2013 Tahoe and a 2015 Tahoe. Have you tried both Tahoes? 3) The developer has 3 files that you can download. I'm not sure why he has 3 of them because it may confuse people. But see if you have the same problem with the Tahoes from all of the download packages.
  13. What model is that? Include the link.
  14. Maybe you confused a response he had for someone else? B'cause I don't see any responses to me. In any case, creating optional components seems like such a simple fix for users who want vehicles with spotlights, albeit a year or month later. Perhaps you may want to develop this models with spotlights?
  15. Because my suggestion may help others including the original poster develop models with optional components as 'extras'. Suggesting ways to help other users by adding more options. On the other hand, your reply was not helpful at all. And comes off as 'toxic'.
  16. I'm not sure why you felt the need to reply with that. I'm trying to determine if it was helpful. Nope. Not helpful. Making components an 'extra' would address common posts, hence the number of posts asking for it. It's a perfect compromise. Options versus 'no-options'.
  17. No one is "backpeddling". I just didn't want you to take my comments personally. I was hoping to focus perhaps on the existence of people needing our help and providing that help (irrespective of whether anyone thinks they really need it or not.) Not only do I have a hard time posting in the correct sections but I know others do too. We have tons of sections on here and sometimes it's hard to determine which section a question might belong in which is why I have asked for clarification. Read my comments on those posts which attest to that point. However I would not rather not use this thread to discuss this particularly issue. We can discuss this further in PM. I have some suggestions that may help.
  18. Clearly understood. I have worked in support for quite some time too. And I have heard this exact mantra from many other techs who have become a little jaded or burnt out with users over time. I try my darnedest not to become that way. Some I'm not saying that that's you but it is interesting that you're using the same exact line that I hear from them. It's not an issue unique to LCPDFR.com but it is something that many popular forums face. And I suppose that it is something that we can't expect developers to take on by themselves. Not sure what the reasonable solution is at this point but it is worth bringing up. But no worries.
  19. Notice how your viewpoint about some of the users in this forum ("...who, frankly, doesn't know how to read and help themselves.") is very subjective and disingenuous. These are personal attacks and not factual assessments. All you did was try to justify general unpleasantness rather than community friendliness or openness. I think the latter is more conducive in a public forum. I have a read quite a few readme text files and have seen some very well-organized and well-written instructions. I have also seen some that are not. Sorry, it's the teacher in me. I generally try to give the learner the benefit of the doubt since they're the ones asking for help. Kinda puts the one who is able to help in a powerful position where they should demonstrate a sense of humility. I appreciate your wanting to help.
