Do you live in a safe place?
Flipflup replied to moneybags's topic in Law Enforcement, Current Events & Society
Crime in my town is as low as it gets. Basically all people living around here is part of the upper middle or upper class, and anyone who is not part of either are retired. Ambulances often responds to here, mind you for sick people, but I don't think I've ever seen an police vehicle with sirens on here. -

ScripmyData Close enough for my personal satisfaction :P -
Hmm, I doubt. I live in a suburban area next to a large city, but basically no police or medical services here - only a fire station with volunteers. There really are no guns around, because of gun laws in Denmark. On the other hand though, this is a harbour city, so if shit got real we could escape.

Hitman: Sniper was announced yesterday. After reading more into it, it seems to be aimed towards "mobile and tablet devices", so only semi-relevant. They do tell that there will be more information at E3, so I could imagine there won't be a new one announced.

Thank you very much for the response! I went ahead and changed the configuration file, however the issue seems to remain. The error in the LCPDFR.log doesn't look like the exact same, but it really is like a foreign language to me, so I better leave analyzing it so somebody who knows what they're doing. It's the exact same error showing in the corner ingame. I can't seem to find any relation between the crashes. I just used a taser, prior the the bit of the log I posted, but I didn't do that in the case I was referring to in the initial post. LCPDFR.log:
-
Let me start off by providing relevant logs: LCPDFR.log AdvancedHook.log: AdvancedHookInit.log Basically, what happens is that I get a message in the corner of my screen that LCPDFR has crashed, and that I should restart my game to avoid unexpected behavior. I can continue playing GTA IV just fine, but many elements of LCPDFR is just plain broken. Radio messages (top right corner) never fades away, my wanted level rises like vanilla GTA etc. etc. List of modifications: LCPDFR Loader.net.dll LessOvertake.net.dll vdH_PoliceHelper.net.dll All vehicles are vanilla, so is all weaponry, uniforms etc.

Grandtheftauto Game Crash Every 5 Minutes

Have you tried disabling and removing all mods, besides LCPDFR? -

ANY mods or plugins besides LCPDFR? Do other games run fine? -
New Battlefield SWAT Game!?
Flipflup replied to Mikofiticus's topic in Computers, Technology & Gaming
I have very little faith in this one - I expect it to become a regular BF title, with other factions. Maybe the new developer can shake things up a bit. -
To answer your question, source But then again, GTA IV didn't ship with any modding tools either. I haven't played the game yet, but I could imagine policing around the streets of Chicago could make for an interesting setting. Yes, hacking is a mechanic, but it could be disabled when enabling this mod, or you could, as a player, just avoid using this specific mechanic.

I agree that having a standalone version of the modification could be beneficial, but it simply won't happen. It would need a fair bit of money to get rolling, and getting investors for a police simulator would be next to impossible. The G17 Media team would have to grow in number substantially and to be fair, the business potential in a such game is minimal.

Police Tactics - A Police Officer Simulator
Flipflup replied to Will's topic in Computers, Technology & Gaming
All right, I thought that I may as well share my thoughts. To sum it up, I really like where this is going. I think that we should all appreciate the facts that: 1) There actually is screenshots, videos etc. I think we should be contented, with the openness the developer has towards the community. He believes that we will be able to keep in account that the game is not near being the release version, and take it with a grain of salt. Kodus to Odin for just this! 2) That there is going to be a police simulator standalone game. Yep. Making a game costs a whole lot of money (considerably) and dedication. To say a fact, it probably won't sell as well as it could have been, if it was to be a more mainstream genre (be it action, RPG, strategy, etc.). I'll be monitoring the progress of the game with a great amount of interest. -
'retrieve the .log files with the diagnostic'? Mind elaborating - did you mean .ini? Either way, try to enable Advanced Mode and select the file you wish to open using the configuration tool. This is, at least in my case, caused by the fact that the configuration software does not take into account that I have GTA IV installed on another drive than C:/, causing it to try to open a file which doesn't exist.

Do you think GTA 4 is a Poorly ported Game?
Flipflup replied to ahling023's topic in GTA IV Discussion & Media
When saying 'performance' I am referring to general sleekness of the game. Getting under 60 FPS in a title such as GTA IV is not acceptable with my specs, therefore I say that it performs horribly. -

Flipflup replied to ahling023's topic in GTA IV Discussion & Media
The game port is absolutely horrible. The performance is shit and so is modding, heck, we should be happy we have the option to mod it. Even on powerful setups, the game runs absolutely horrible, modded or not. I would't exactly call the game badly scripted, only the port being bad. -
Not sure where to download the specific one you pointed out, but Less Overtaking does the job.

Summer or winter, which do you prefer?
Flipflup replied to 42069's topic in General & Miscellaneous Discussion
Winter. It's pretty, not hot, practically none of that annoying liquidy-rain and bugs. None of them. -
Real life police work...dangerous job.
Flipflup replied to TemporaryTax's topic in General & Miscellaneous Discussion
This is not a fair representation of the job of a police officer. Situations like the one in the video are rare and I'm not sure whats up with this - without being officer myself, I imagine most would drive with partners, two in a car or more. I'm not saying that being in the law enforcement career is the safest of jobs, but most guaranteed not a fair representation. Most police 'documentaries' wrong choice of words, but likely what they'll be categorized as are not every-day scenarios. This is all based on the fist clip and the title of the thread. -
There is no police modification for GTA:SA crafted by the G17 guys, however there may be alternatives.

LCPDFR 1.0 crashes in various situations
Flipflup replied to killerschlumpf's topic in GTA IV & LCPDFR Support
I would love to, but I did not fix it. I found the exact problem I had (System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'freval_77' to type 'freval_89'.) in the known bugs list. If the development team is already aware of the problem, there is no need to search for further support. -
LCPDFR 1.0 crashes in various situations
Flipflup replied to killerschlumpf's topic in GTA IV & LCPDFR Support
Disregard this post. Found the problem in the known bugs. I'm having similar problems. It crashes every 5-8 minutes-ish, seems to be happening particularly when a car crashes, or I get someone to leave their vehicle. I'm running on almost lowered out settings, even though I have a fairly powerful rig: OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K @ 3.50GHz RAM: 16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28) Motherboard: MSI B75A-G41 (MS-7758) (SOCKET 0) GPU: 2047MB GeForce GTX 680 (MSI) HDD: 112GB Samsung SSD 840 Series ATA Device (SSD) 1863GB Seagate ST2000DM001-1CH164 ATA Device (SATA)
