  8. Update: @IndianaisMyState reached out to Take-Two Interactive, he was directed to a member of their legal team who said they have no current ETA on their statement but it confirms they are aware of the C&D and they did in fact send it, but in combination with Rockstar's statement we hope they can reconsider their decision. Also: The petition as of now has hit 25,000 supporters and increasing every minute, and the Steam reviews have reached "Overwhelmingly Negative" hopefully Take-Two is realizing how bad of a decision that was.

  12. Update: "Update 2: Rockstar has sent PC Gamer a brief official statement on the matter: "Take-Two's actions were not specifically targeting single player mods. Unfortunately OpenIV enables recent malicious mods that allow harassment of players and interfere with the GTA Online experience for everybody. We are working to figure out how we can continue to support the creative community without negatively impacting our players." Courtesy of @Slendis
  13. OpenIV may be confused by the fake letter, I think the fact we haven't heard anything from Take Two or Rockstar kind of proves further that it could be fake as they would probably issue a statement against modding, and/or go after other programs as well as other mods and not wait for the community backlash. Hopefully it was fake an OIV just isn't very smart.
  14. We have reached 10,000 supporters, quickly reaching 11,000. To those of you who believe a petition wont make Take Two bat an eye, I guess I can agree with both sides. Take Two is a private company, meaning they are in the stock market, they are basically represented by the public. I think, if they are smart they should care about the opinion of the largest community inside of their game. I've never watched a singleplayer walk through video or "GTA 5: Playing Singleplayer" maybe some online videos, but nonetheless the modding community of GTA 5 is probably the largest portion of the game. I have spent $120 on Grand Theft Auto titles just to be able to play LS/LCPDFR and that is just one small mod of the game. The modding community needs to show T2 that we actually care, and that it effects them. I dont want to stand by the side and let my hobby get ruined by a company, maybe a petition wont do much but we have to try. I will agree though T2 wont be financially effected by a boycott of the game by modders, as we all have already purchased the game and we dont play Online for the most part but we should at least try to get them to hear us and show them how bad this decision is. Anyway, keep sharing the petition at least try to save this community thanks.
  15. The deeming of modding "illegal" was done by Take Two Interactive Rockstar's parent/mother company/publisher. Rockstar Games has come out before support modding their game but Take Two I guess it much more against it and has called it illegal in all of its games including Mafia, NBA 2K17, and Rockstar Games.
  16. It increases, I didnt have the option to change it
  17. I created a petition against the closing of OpenIV to TTI, and R* Games: "For 10 years now the Grand Theft Auto series has been edited and modded by people to make the game more enjoyable. Hundreds if not thousands of people have bought one or all of Grand Theft Auto: SA, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Grand Theft Auto V. The modding of these games have been done mostly in singleplayer and with the help of OpenIV, a software that lets you get into the game's files and replace vehicles, scripts, textures, etc. The closing of OpenIV leaves 1000s of people without access to be able to mod their games, and leaves 1000s of people without the ability to continue their hobbies. All modding used by OpenIV is for singleplayer use only to make the game more enjoyable, the software OpenIV was never used to mod multiplayer or Grand Theft Auto Online so it does not harm anyone. Myself, and other members of the LSPDFR and GTA modding community ask that OpenIV be allowed to continue distributing and running as a modding software. Thank you." https://www.change.org/p/rockstar-games-save-openiv
