MSHP - Missouri State Highway Patrol - They tend to avoid the area I live in, I have to drive out to where no people live to see one. :P



 
STLMPD - Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department - Never see them unless I go downtown.



 
St. Louis Sheriff Department - They do 0 patrols whatsoever, hence why the still use a vic from the 90s :P. They also only service the city. Since the city has been independent from the county since the 19th century.



 
Hazelwood Police Department - I see them whenever I leave my city :P They like to do traffic stops on the highway :(.



 
And Finally, The Saint Louis County Police Department, who services unincorporated departments, and sometimes sieze, or takeover operations of a different department due to them being corrupt, or the city council deciding it'd be easier to just let the county do it.

Even if you feel comradeship it doesn't okay defending them when they're in the wrong.

I do, but those people who we give a gun, and give the power to use that gun more than anyone else minus the military, should be held to higher standards than an average person.

And the local media probably got that number from POLICE. But you know the police, they always lie right? And I know what crack does to you, I have crack head family members, maybe they shoulda backed off and just closed off the area then rather than getting 5 feet away from him. Cops do make cops look bad. I don't think the media puts people out there in uniform, shoots people to get it on video, JUST to make cops look bad. 15 times is over board if you ask me, even if he is high on crack.

That's excessive. 46 FUCKING TIMES? If the police DID NOT shoot him 46 times it wouldn't have been a big issue, 3 or so shots is enough to take a person down.

Different countries have their own specific unique set of policing methods and the populace it polices. Similarly different organizations also police different environments.

In addition different people have had different experiences dealing with cops; some negative and some positive which unfortunately/fortunately creates their opinion and impression.

I grew up in a poor immigrant community where interactions with Police Officers were often negative simply because either the cops didn't understand where we were coming from (face it, a cop who has never faced one bit of adversity trying to deal with people who face it on a daily basis); often the cops who worked the area were often negative.

Flash-forward now, Having worked with them for over four years in different areas of the city and in different environments; Clearbin put it best the majority of cops are out of touch with today's generation and environment.

I remember working with patrol officers in one area of the city which was predominantly poor, the officer's attitudes created an atmosphere of hate and they were out of touch with the average citizen merely creating an "Us vs. Them" mentality. It was funny because usually it's the other way around where we in the anti-gang/violence unit had that mentality and it would be the patrol officers who had the community-oriented mindset.

Which brings me to another point, the reason why many people have negative views of the police is simply because they view the police as an enforcement only organization rather than community building, I remember the first week my supervisor told me "You have the ability to make someone's day go from bad to good". I see the opposite for many officers in that they make someone's day go from bad to worse. It's funny because the military has the right approach, I was taught in the army that it's not all about destroying things and killing things it's about helping people, it's about going the extra mile to win over the hearts of the village, town or city your in. I don't see that in the Police, and that's why many people have the views they do.

Case in point, Pride Parade is the largest street parade in the City of Toronto. This year I supported the pride parade by being with the Army in uniform marching in support of equality; passing by I see some of my colleagues who didn't smile, didn't talk to anyone and never once did they have fun, of course I saw other colleagues embrace the parade, however you saw more of the former rather than the later.

DON'T BUY ALIENWARE

Lets list a few reason why

1.) Its over priced polished shit

2.) Its made crappy

3.) Only reason why its so much money is because they make it out of some medal.

​4.) Doesn't last long

5.) Once you buy it your stuck with it, you can't upgrade on them because there motherboards are only work with things they make.

6.) You can make a custom built computer for cheaper and better.

7.) Terrible customer support

Hmmm, have you tried just tapping "E" rather than holding it down? I don't usually hold it down and it works for me.
