  2. Quick note on the copyright conversation - for those of us who purchase base models from places like TurboSquid or Hum3D, those purchases include a license from the auto manufacturer to use the likeness of their product. So, most of those types of models are being used with a purchased license from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, etc.
  3. The sad part is... when you're good at the work, people want more... and if you start producing more, then you quickly transition from a hobby, to a business... and that business has to be supported somehow. The answer is usually charging, because just relying on donations doesn't cut it. I personally have nothing against those who do charge. That is their operation to run, has no impact on me, and really isn't anyone's business. But when it comes to dev models and parts, I come into it knowing that I'll likely have to pay to use it... because the guy who bought it from TurboSquid or whatever also paid for it. And you either take the loss if you can afford it, or you find means to offset your expenses. Not everything is free in life, nor should it be... that's just not how it works.
  4. @verony28066 I would just counter your statement with the fact that the devs leaving here are NOT putting their mods behind a paywall. I know of no one who has left here recently and transitioned to that form of model dissemination. The people doing it today are the same people who were doing it months ago, or longer. The devs leaving here are moving to a location that at least tries to have some semblance of security for the community, not just the models being downloaded... but the forums, gallery, etc. I take pleasure in spending hours and dollars on models that I share with the community for no charge to them... but I don't take pleasure in being ripped off after the fact, and no backing from the host management team. P.S. The stuff with Ezra is dead, and being handled. No need to really bring that all back up again, but the comments he made were difficult to read from a representative of staff.
  5. @Sam @Cyan Thank you for taking the time to join us this afternoon. My intentions were not to create a spectacle, but your team crossed a line. When your "customers" have an important message to share, it seems best to at least hear the concern and have a constructive conversation. That's the attitude I came into today with, but the name calling and general apathetic, poor demeanor certainly escalated things. I understand you are addressing that issue; thank you. You can understand why people would be upset. You can understand why content creators would want some form of protection. I understand you are not the internet police, and some actions taken regardless may have little to no impact on the end result. However, the "we can't do anything" and "we won't do anything" hurt... because it was perceived as not even caring enough to try. That's all most of us wanted; some sort of effort. A message denouncing behavior. Something. Anything to show you were willing to try to help us out. But we couldn't even seem to get someone to listen, until everything burned out of control today. Why did it have to come to that point? You guys made a great point today that will help a lot of developers decide what is best for them going forward: LSPDFR is a public website, and anyone can download anything they want, without restriction, and your decision is to remain that way. And like Turtle said, because of that, the people that have left or will be leaving, won't be coming back. If either of you would like to continue a conversation in DMs, you know where to find me.
  6. Just fyi, I'm patiently awaiting a DM from a staff member explaining why/how this is being handled...
  7. The flags should be flipped. The stars should always be at the front, leading into battle, with the stripes waving behind. Solid design though otherwise.

  13. That is my model. It is available for download here, found through a 30 search of the models available. Please remove this download.
These peds make a perfect combo with my trucks. Some custom textures and helmet shields, and it's all glorious!
