I just want to say THANK YOU to the entire LSPDFR staff, and developers, as well as all of the modders, scripters, and modelers. The base LSPDFR 0.4 is an INCREDIBLE advancement in LSPDFR, no doubt, however the folks out there putting out Cars, Skins, Textures, Sounds, and plugins to give us the realistic feel and functionality we all desire, are incredible people and deserve no less credits. I love you all, and look forward to what this project has to come! 🙂 ❤️

This has been on my mind too, since 0.4 came to light I've been having the time of my life with LSPDFR especially with all of the plugins that have been updated. RDE and EUP on top of that with all of the customization makes it an absolute masterpiece. The AI is a huge improvement which makes it more enjoyable for me, can't wait to see what the future holds.

Well I do want the weather to change naturally, that's what I was asking. But I've never seen it change naturally, it's always sunny and dry.

Looking to change things up with my siren just to hear something different, and was curious what the most commonly used police siren was across America. Is there one that seems to be used more than others? Also, which siren do you like the best?

When I looked into this before, the slowness was not coming from LSPDFR itself, but third-party plugins.

You might look into something like CustomBackup or Law Enforcement Jurisdiction Script. And also it's not uncommon to see sheriffs patrolling the city. County sheriffs have overlapping jurisdictions with city police in nearly every state that I can think of, so that's not unusual.

Primarily the fact that it's badged as a Galls siren and is fairly cheap as far as sirens go more than anything.  You have tiers of equipment manufacturers based upon their pricing models and who they're marketing toward IMO.  Whelen, Federal, and Code3 are generally the priciest and are primarily focused upon professional usage.  On the other end of the spectrum you have companies that cater to a more affordable price point for volunteers, the budget conscious, etc like some of Carson's models, SVP/Star-Signal, etc.  I'd consider Galls to be in the latter category.

The Galls Street Thunder is a budget model aimed at attracting the volunteer/individual market - I personally haven't seen it rolled out en masse.

Indeed. I simply just disabled the controls in ELS for siren use by setting their keys to 0. Now the keys won't conflict with SM and the A.I. still uses their siren.

Hi. I just want to add that I’m using ELS+SM because I like the agencies to have different sirens. And I have not disabled the sounds in their vcf-files. I’d like to call @GunnDawg to the stand. He can explain it much better :)

GunnDawg got a reaction from CanadianLaw in What do these mods actually change?
With mods like Realistic Radiance, RadianceV, and the others that make your emergency lights brighter, what values are they actually changing? I've found that tweaking these two values to your liking can achieve identical, or at least similar results.

    car.defaultlight.day.emissive.on
    car.defaultlight.night.emissive.on

I've been playing with those values to get what I consider to be some bright emergency lights during the day and night and have come up with some values that I think work pretty well. So are these mods only changing those values? I wouldn't mind having some brighter reflections off the walls and surrounding area, but I'm not sure which value that is, and I'm not sure if the above mentioned mods modify that, or just the two values I mentioned.

I agree with this. While its nice to have back up closer to really drains resources as just about everything you do has 20 units responding to it.

I think you misread what the mod is.  Back on the beat just adds more patrolling police units, and there's zero customization to it.  Unless your POLICE fleet is sheriff cars, you're just going to see the police, police2, police3 slots.  As nice as the mod is, I think it adds a tad bit too many units patrolling, so you have to weigh your preference.  Over abundance of patrol units, or none?

GunnDawg got a reaction from Kalleboston in My first texture attempt. Feedback?
I use EUP and find that most of the vests tend to clip with the items on the duty belt, except for one of the styles of vests. The SAHP vest is a little smaller, and allows you to actually use a duty belt without annoying texture clipping.

Anyways now that I found a vest that doesn't clip the duty belt, I wanted one for the gang unit (EUP only includes this vest style for SAHP I think, which is annoying). I did some very rough draft / quick work on this, but still after some input.

No, I use a very old-school one from Prophet (which is a rework of Illusionyary's Touchmaster Delta).
