Spawn Locations
If there was a google car model, I would totally use it when driving around for those spawn points. Will get a file up in the next day or so with everything I've done so far.

Spawn Locations
I spent yesterday driving around Vespucci and collected about 400-600 doing businesses/commercial premises only. They're all really well documented in terms of the business name, location (suburb) and where at the business it is (eg: dining area, front door, pool, etc.)... then the unique places like some of the places at the pier I've noted that I'll do specific callouts there. I'm going to do residential spawn points in the next day or so. After doing that and realising just how much attention to detail is in this game and how awesome the world is, I've changed my callout mod to be based on specific policing areas... first roll out will be just Vespucci callouts... then I'll do up another district in due course. Happy to share my spawn points though!

Suggestion With Sirens
Like I said, it's a workaround for now. No doubt there'll eventually be a config file where you can choose your own keys but there isn't right now so I offered you a solution.

Suggestion With Sirens
You can rebind your key. I have whatever E was bound to my delete key so that's what I press to interact and use the computer... granted, I tend to use the arrow keys instead of the WASD for movement. Just a suggestion until there's a config file for LSPDFR.

[WIP] Police Beats - Everyday Policework
I was thinking a bit along those lines. Well and truly beyond my current ability but maybe down the trading. Using the old SA style with mission markers that teleport you inside, I guess in theory you could make any house have an interior... may just need to find a way to build more to avoid getting repetitive. Also hoping to find a way to open the shops while LSPDFR is active - it kind of puts a spanner in the works of how I wanted to run the hold up alarm and theft callouts.

Thanks so much. That's incredibly helpful!

Spawn Locations
It's not so much getting safe spawn points as specific ones, eg. Train stations, bus stops, houses and stores. Rather than writing a script, is there any way to just pull coordinates out through the console? Just seems simpler. Otherwise I guess I shall get started on a script! I don't really know anything about XML files but that does seen kind of awesome and handy. You're saying that if I set that up, I'd be able to get the plugin to randomly select from locations that are automatically saved to the XML file by me driving around and pressing a button? Then I can categorise them to only be used for specific callouts? Eg: train stations only used for train station callouts, stores only used for thefts and hold up alarms, etc. Thanks again for the help and patience. =p

Spawn Locations
Morning all! (If it's not where you are or when you read this... just pretend!) I'm starting to make good use of this forum as I get a bit more au fait with this whole scripting business and I still have a few questions... rather than creating a 'help Kyben' thread I figured I'd post them under their own topics so others can learn or track them down too. Anyway, my question for today is on getting spawn locations. Currently, I know about the get next position on street one, but are there others? I wasn't able to find anything throughtout the Rage documentation and I'm not smart enough to work any out myself. Now, in order to maximise my one post a day, I understand I can manually enter a vector3 to spawn at a specific location - how can I find a locations vector3 ingame? I'm happy to spend time driving around to a bunch of different places to collect the coordinates but... How do I collect them and then how do I use them in the plugin? Thanks guys!

Access the LSPDFR Radio Menu or Interaction Menu
My thoughts exactly. If it's not possible we may have to look at creating a similar menu specifically for callout plugins and see if we can make it universal or something. I think that goes well beyond my skill level though.

Ability to cancel actions (Writing Tickets. Asking for ID)?
I had to remove more control for the opposite reason - when the guy I'm writing the ticket for takes off and I run back to the car but forget to unlock the doors. By the time that animation is finished and I get back in the car, bad guy is back home, sitting on his porch and drinking his second beer. x_x

Access the LSPDFR Radio Menu or Interaction Menu
Morning folks, Wondering if it's at all possible to add an option to the LSPDFR Radio menu while on a callout. What I'm hoping to do is - rather than having a button to end callouts - have an option in the radio menu (where person/vehicle checking etc. is) saying something to the effect of 'clear callout'. Basically to radio in saying you're clear of the scene and it would end the callout. I know I can have a button to do this but just thought it would be a little neater and more polished with an option like that. I'd also like to add an option in there to radio for assistance from your supervisor. Basically press it and you'll get a message to guide you through the callout. Again, I know I can do this with a hotkey but it'd just be nicer to throw an option in there. Wouldn't mind putting a request Ambulance/Fire button in there, too... Cheers, Kyben

Thanks for the support guys! I'm hoping to have something small out in the near future that can be built upon as I get better.

[WIP] Police Beats - Everyday Policework
Police Beats - Everyday Policework very work in progress Little bit of a change in direction after learning the basics of making these plugins and such and so we are now 'Police Beats - Everyday Policework' and will focus on handcrafting callouts for the districts of Los Santos, starting with Vespucci. I've spent a few days doing the rounds and getting spawn points around Vespucci, Rockford Hills, Morningwood and all the suburbs in between. So far, I have the front door of almost every business or commercial property and their respective car parks or dining areas mapped out so that callouts will be quite specific - it could be a dispute about food quality at a restaurant or cafe that's gotten a bit out of hand, a hold up alarm, a car parking issue that's become violent or perhaps not even violent - someone could just be pissed off that someone else parked across two disabled bays and you've been called to give the dropkick a ticket. It could be anything! Some areas such as the pier and the beach have a whole lot more and more specific callouts - lifeguards and security have apprehended someone and need you to come and lay down the law or perhaps one of the street vendors have been mugged, or had some items stolen. Every one of those little street vendor stalls now has a spawn point mapped to it and you could get called there - of course, when you do, there'll actually be a vendor there to speak to and there's probably a guy running away or hiding out nearby that stole something or punched him or took a leak on his cart. Back in the districts, almost every house is going to have a spawn point mapped for a house alarm, domestic, fight, burglary, noise complaint - whatever you can think of, I'll manage to squeeze it in there. The motels scattered throughout Vespucci all have locations mapped there for issues in the car park or perhaps unauthorised people using the pool - the owner might want them all charged with trespassing or maybe just moved on - those everyday calls are all gonna be there. As you roll through the streets and see the bus stops and the train stations, think that they're also potential hotspots - public transport isn't necessarily the safest mode of transport and with all those hubs having spawn points, you could find yourself at any of them dealing with a fight on a bus or someone trying to ride the train for free. Vespucci isn't your thing? Give it time, eventually I'll roll this model out over the entire city and county. Calls will include:. Welfare Check - 911 call was disconnected early or hung up immediately and the dispatcher can't get back on the line to the caller. These could be at an exact location such as a house or business or could be from a mobile phone and give you an area to check out. You could find anything there - medical issues, fights, fires or absolutely nothing. Traffic Complaint - This could be ongoing or historic. Maybe the complainant witnessed someone that lives in the street do a burnout so you just need to attend and speak to the complainant then head on down to get the other guys version of events to decide whether you'll cite him, warn him or leave it at that. Perhaps the complainant is following a vehicle doing something stupid... better catch up before the complainant loses sight. Routine Assistance - Another agency needs help with something. It could be a bus driver with someone refusing to pay a fare or get off the bus or a security guard with trespassers in custody... maybe Ambulance officers need help with a cranky pateint. The dispatcher will tell you what it is and how urgently you're needed. Stealing/Mugging - Someone has been mugged or had something stolen from them. Depending on circumstances, you or you and another car may be dispatched. If you arrive first, speak to the victim/complainant and get a description out to the other car or take the victim back to the station for a statement. If you're a bit slow no doubt the other unit will give you a description and direction of travel for the offender so you can go have a look for him. Hold Up Alarm/Robbery - Much the same as the above, two or more cars will be dispatched. Arrive first and you'll be getting the details from the victim/complainant. Arrive after and you'll be looking for the bad guys. Off course, if it's just an alarm it could be a false alarm or maybe the clerk panicked she a customer got angry and hit it. Noise Complaint - The name speaks for itself. Attend and ask for the noise to be lowered or if you're particulary narks, issue a citation or take the offender in. Be mindful that every action has a reaction and if it's a party, there may well be more of them than you... Loitering/Trespassing - One or more people are hanging around somewhere and staff or residents aren't willing to move them on or haven't been successful - attend and move them on. Alarm - Maybe a house a alarm or a car alarm - attend and check the area. May be something happening or someone suspiciously hanging around. Check bona fides and move them on. Suspicious Person - Maybe they were seen looking into cars or houses or they're just being a bit weird... attend and scope it out. Disturbance/Domestic - Violent or verbal only. Attend, speak with all parties and move them on, arrest them, cite them - deal with the incident as you see fit. Indecent Act/Indecent Exposure - Someone's showing a bit too much skin off and may need a bit of a hand finding their pants - or perhaps they've found someone else's pants and that other person didn't really appreciate it... guess you'll find out when the call comes in! That's both a conservative and an ambitious list of calls that I'm hoping to get into the mod at some point and it's going to take a lot of time and work to get to a polished and compete state but I do intend to release the works in progress as there's something to release... for now though, I'm working with a tutor, learning to write scripts and working towards having at least one call to show off in the near future!

Real Police Work
I just started working on a callout mod aimed at the routine side of policing. I have no idea how long it's going to take as I have a very basic understanding of the whole process but it is in the works and I plan on getting a forum thread up very soon to announce it! Also trying to make it less... go here, arrest or kill the bad guy and move on... more... go here, talk to victim, talk to bad guy, talk to witnesses, maybe cite bad guy or arrest in some cases.

Siren/Horn Editing
Evening all, Is anyone able to give me a steer in the direction of a quick tutorial or guide to editing sirens and horns? More just chasing the lengths and rate that GTA 5 will allow. I have some sirens I used for GTA 4 but they are 44100MHz and GTA 5 doesn't seem to like them - mutes all the horns audio when I put them in with Open IV. Appreciate any advice. Cheers Kyben

LSPDFR Announcement + Preview
I don't see why it needs to say anything for a traffic stop. It's something that's always annoyed me in LCPDFR. Notnsure about the US but here in Australia it'd just be a case of coming up behind someone and throwing the lights on. Maybe a blast of the siren if they aren't paying attention. Never heard the speaker being used...

1.0 - No Notebook?
Ahh, so it is. Thanks guys. Funnily enough, I did notice it but read it as that was the last person I'd searched for. In any case, appreciate the advice!

1.0 - No Notebook?
Howdy all, Noticed that the 'notebook' that appeared in the bottom right of the in-car computer and told you the name of the person you just checked the licence of on a traffic stop seems to have disappeared? I've gone to a real notebook and write the POI's name down now, but any chance that'll be making a return? I had an incident last night where I'd made a typo and was stuck on a traffic stop for a bit because I couldn't get the spelling correct and there's no way to check it again. Cheers K

Encounters with the Police
If it's anything like Australia, it's very hard to charge someone with driving under the influence once they've left the vehicle, even if it was witnessed. Mostly due to needing a breath sample within a reasonable timeframe to prove that the driver was actually over the limit at the time of driving. Could be charged with driving an unroadworthy vehicle though, something along the lines of failing to show due care while commandeering a motor vehicle. Dunno.

Stopping Vehicles on Foot
Howdy folks, Pretty sure I know the answer to this one and it's not possible at this stage, but is there a way to stop vehicles (traffic stop) while you are on foot? Or an easy way that I could edit something to remove the requirement to be in a vehicle to initiate a traffic stop? Reasoning behind the question is, with Snit's Holden Commodores, and the number of vehilce's with messageboards in them, I'd love to set up random breath testing road blocks and the likes, which... while you can obviously do it in a vehicle by pulling someone over, thinking more along the lines of; Actually kinda hard to find a picture, but here's a video... don't mind the... 'true blue Aussie' ;) So yeah, would love to SNT spawn a couple of cops to just stand around and watch if there was a way I could get the traffic stops going while outside a vehicle, especially now I've found a few mods and ways to actually control traffic and properly close lanes and the likes... Cheers!
