^^ Another thing you want to look at. I found that its best to just completely shut off your windows 'firewall'. All 'three', if you go to your start menu and type in firewall and go to the advanced settings. Once you open that you see its like an inbound and outbound advance window. One the first window, like when you open it up you see the domain private and public profile 'firewalls' then a small green arrow under the fix box in that window (hope you've found it lol). Its the Windows Firewall Properties Just go in and make sure that all firewall states are OFF while playing gta iv online. Running a few communities and being apart of a few, I found it best just to turn them all off rather than trying to fight to get everything working just right....

Totally agree! Dogs are just as helpful and effective as human officers. Alberty Einstein once said "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid" Even though that quote isn't 100% on point, it definitely supports in this case. Sure dogs can't speak english and do paper work, but trust me they make it up by doing things humans can't naturally like sniffing stuff out, running much faster, etc (there's just a lot of stuff dogs can do that humans naturally can't). I've got a buddy in the military and what really cool is that they give the dogs ranks, even though they aren't 'leading' squads of humans or dogs. Its just really neat to see the respect and value for dogs! My buddy in the military always calls his 'partner' (the awesome dog :p) by his rank then his name when appropriate, the dogs also can identify the different branches by their uniforms and stand attention and knows when he can relax, its just really cool!

Have you changed ISPs (Internet Service Providers) recently? Maybe your ping is to high and its just kicking you out right away but giving you the slow message. I couldn't imagine what the problem is unless you've got something resource hogging other than GTA IV running..... Maybe if you try claiming ownership over the directory. If you select the directory and navigate to the folder properties ---> Security ---> the Advanced button near the bottom ---> Owner tab ---> edit button ---> select your user self, not your administrator self. You don't select administrator because it just doesn't work well as your 'user self'. When your user, since you own it and any changes inside can happen regardless of running in Admin or not, so the running as admin part isn't necessary unless that file makes changes outside its directory. I very rarely have crashes now since I have done that. Much much less then before, when it does happen I completely forget gta still does that xD. Plus I find I can tab in and out more easily without crashing.

Oh nice, that's a good idea! I don't like Sony V 12 all that much cause the quality is reduced! I'll have to try handbreak, completely forgot about that! How would you go about editing a video though? Or is that something I've forgotten about handbreak too.....? lol

It depends what your upload speed is. But if your uploading like a raw FRAPS recording that's 100 gigs or so, stop and process it through movie maker or your favored video editing software. It decreases the file size drastically.....

This mainly happens when you use an AMD card and play nVidia bias games (games endorsed by nVidia), not in all situations but more then enough. nVidia cards tend to have similar performance issues/problems in AMD bias games, but the more recent games are really backed by nVidia more these days than AMD............ It depends what you're willing/wanting to do with the card. If you are looking at overclocking, then drop the nVidia and get yourself an AMD, much easier to deal with.

The link I sent you should be good enough. However if you find performance lacking you can overclock a bit but still keep your cooling system on air. Plus its really easy to just upgrade the cpu and/or gpu when/if you need to.

True, I've got a late 2011 which is not a solid state. But I see your point. Also cp702 is right, the cost of repairs would be more so on any other systems.

The 3d mark may look impressive and above a good few intel's but yet intel still wins....? Yes but now you've gotten ahead of yourself, this originally was about budget pc's, which is why most people go to amd. A well clocked 8 core amd processor is enough for gaming, more then enough even. Even for 3d or video rendering, this is enough...... But for the price, the 8350 wins......plus if you burn it up your out $200 maximum. Instead of a 300, 400, 500 dollar average chip. Overall as you go up the chain, yes intel makes some bad ass chips and the upper ones definitely crush the FX series, might even smear the new AMD stuff for next year xD. But for the price for a budget pc amd no doubt.

I think increased police presents should do the job. Plus there 'should' be air marshals on every US flight so there should have been a few waiting in line some where that could have pitched in. The TSA already have enough on their plate and enough problems. They don't need more TSA guys screwing up especially with a weapon.......

Plus its much easier to overclock an amd cpu. Plus I can push my amd cpu much higher than the 2600k. When you say you overclock one cpu, you have to overclock the other to make it fair. Yeah some people really go overboard with cpu's thinking that's the core reason games lag. In nearly all cases its your gpu that is bottle-necking your system, not your cpu.

I've never had my gaming pc in a car before but my mac seems to hold up fine when I go on road trips around europe and I toss it around the car to my sibs when they want to use it. Although I do see the risk of the skip, don't want that to happen while on the job. And my ride along with a Trooper did the same :p. I don't see why the toughbook seems to be the only laptop with a shock mounted hard drive. That's really the only reason PDs get/use them. Unless they intend to throw them about. And yes, SSDs are to expensive and don't last as long. They also rarely have enough money to upgrade OS's.

Yeah I play games around 35-40+ (on bad days) FPS at full HD on my 7970m in my gaming laptop. But everyone wants better, the computer I linked should be able to play GTA IV and most other games at 50-60+ FPS (most monitors are 60hz so they can only display 60FPS) unless its a game like Metro Last Light xD that game even give's the titan some trouble xD. Plus you can display more monitors with the 7750 and game at the same time. Plus if you record, you should loose all that much even if you use FRAPS. Plus that comp will be easy to upgrade :)

Hmm then I would say that there's something odd about your mods you have in your game. I would say a fresh clean install of both your game and mods. If it still doesn't work reinstall the game and just try to connect to a multilayer session with the vanilla game. If you still can't connect then we might want to shift our focus to your computer's hardware.....

You might try removing the Paul.dll in your directory. Just drag it out to your desktop and try again, you'll notice that the social club login thing won't come up. If any c++ package errors appear ignore them because they specifically relate to the social club window, not the game itself. This has solved this running to slowly problem on my brothers game and my a couple of my friends.

Wow......you have not provided enough information regarding your cpu (model number or core count) and the 8 core amd will fly a bit over the 4 core i7, in most situations, just so you know....... you have no specified a specific 6700 series gpu, and you have said nothing about ram speeds....... let's get a little more information before you start claiming your computer is better...... Alright so I looked some info up about your computer. From what I've seen your out of date computer has an I7-2600 which just over shoots the FX-8100 however a $540 computer plus a $200 cpu upgrade to the FX-8350 will blow your i7-2600 out of the water. The only 6700 amd gpu series in your comp I've seen so far is the 6750 so look here, the 7750 just flies over it with some breathing room. So this $540 computer just measures up to your comp with the cpu but the gpu kills yours The $740 computer (with the cpu upgrade) blows your computer completely out of the water. So in the end you might have an oh so slightly faster processor, but by a few hairs. Your GPU doesn't even measure up anywhere. And the price of the computer is around 1grand from what I've seen with these configurations if you configured your computer with these high specs at the time it was being produced. -------------------- To sum up guys, the link I gave overall is better than his 'business' xps....... at least for now unless he had some sort of different configuration or upgrades since he bought it. But CRAWFORDx96 with the budget you have, I'd go with the comp I suggested. No offense Grant at all, I don't mean to get into an argument or sound like I'm trying to grind ya or sound like an ass. But before you get into stuff like this, you need to know specifically what hardware you have (specifically!) and constantly research it against other newer hardware. Plus if we step into talking about the overclocking end of things.......the conversation changes completely lol. I'm currently looking for a way to funnel liquid nitrogen onto my processor once I get that computer I linked you guys, that's the on I'm gonna overclock. I mean funnel it without pouring it in myself. I might hire my little bro to stand there and slowly pour it in all day :p xD hahahaha.

No problem, the link I gave you is the one I'm gonna end up getting next month hopefully. I'll just upgrade the ram and get an SSD for gaming. If the motherboard doesn't support faster ram then I can easily get a better motherboard for another $70 or so.
