  1. Thanks for the comment but I can assure you that it is not the same. I created these by hand using the standard template. For clarification, Nothing on these ambulances is directly copied, not from real life photos (cut and paste) nor skins made by others. I researched the many styles of these ambulances including finding the correct fonts and purchasing them. Also, there are several inaccuracies in terms of font type and placement of words and numbers on Rescue 39 (Stock Number 11835) that was included in the pack and the one in real life http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikesphotos_us/5960010301/ then compare that to the units I included in my pack. While the units may "look the same" since the LAFD does not deviate much in terms of look and feel, mine I believe are much more accurate to their real life counterparts and are therefore very much different.

This a skin pack that includes 2 LAFD ALS Paramedic and 2 LAFD BLS Ambulance. ALS Units: Rescue 71 (Made Famous by Michael Jackson), Stock Number 11803 Rescue 100, Stock Number 11822 BLS Units: Rescue 909, Stock Number 11811 Rescue 889, Stock Number 11834 The skins were built and tested for: Lt. Caine's modified Rockstar Games Ambulance. Version: AMBU-V3.0X ELS I would imagine this skin would work for other ambulances. This is perfect for Sam's ALM! 3. @EVI Not enough with your attention to detail!
  4. I use gtaivaud1.1.5 It's simple and gets the job done. http://www.gtagaming.com/downloads/gta-iv/tools/3996
  5. Is too generic. If you are creating a wail for instance you need 1 cycle clipped at the correct spot so when looping (shift play in audacity) it sounds continuous (I use pattern analyzer (I think that's the right term for the tool) to help). Things like the air horn do not need to be that long (1 second). All of your editing needs to be done at 44000hz (I'll double check that and edit my post later if need be). And the key, it needs to be loud!!!!!!! Use amplify for that and allow clipping. It will sound like crap in audicity but test it in GTA IV.
  6. @Tim98 Do you have a good CHP uniform for the trooper?
  7. @Sgt.Kanyo I stand corrected on the Doppler Shift Now I do think that the pitch will be lower in the LAPD video than my files because we are behind the siren while my reference files are controlled from source. Also the video is susceptible to both types of interference and the quality of the camera. They are both the SmartSiren, they are recorded in two different environments.
  8. I just noticed that there is small clipping going on with the City of Los Angeles seal and the door gun port. I'll fix it and upload a new version tonight. Sorry folks...

  10. Yes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gigAXFw9yzQ
  11. I have created a version where I increased the wail by 15dB and the other sounds by 10dB. Marine831 tested it and pointed out (as I heard and was worried about) the quality drops a lot. I will try 5dB across the board later tonight but I don't have much hope...
  12. Sure! Can you give me a range of increase?
  13. It can be made louder but the more I amplify it in Audacity the more clipping will occur causing lower quality... But if you all want it louder I can jack it up more :-)
  14. Let me know how it sounds for you guys.

  16. Thanks SharpCommand! I gave it another go through Audicity's amplify tool and enabled clipping this time. Much louder! But quality starts taking a hit. I also think I used two different values for siren_1 and siren_2 on the amplify so I'll need to go back and fix it tonight. Thanks again!
  17. All, I've been working on creating a custom siren, the Federal Signal Omega. I have all of the needed files (siren_1.wav, siren_2.wav, police_warning.wav,the horn in hex) and they were originally not 44100Hz but I converted them in Audacity to that and 16bit PCM; I also amplified them the maximum amount possible in Audicity. I loaded them in GTA-IVaud_editor and they sound sufficiently loud during playback. Used SparkIV to load the HORNS.ivaud file and saved (Rebuild was grayed out...). Now here's the problem, none of the siren sounds nor really the horn sound loud in game. It's defiantly my siren, just not loud at all. I've tried everything I think I can try... Anyone have any suggestions or can provide assistance? Thanks! Chad
  18. I cannot remember exactly how it was implemented, but wasn't this is .91? And the arrested suspect needs to be placed in the back right seat behind the front passenger seat.
  19. The less overtaking mod helps with the cars rear-ending you and the obvious in the name of the mod. Also the pedestrians crossing in front of you when you have a green, though that could just be emulating NYC!
  20. Something else to think about as a "nice" feature but I just watched the latest SoCal Police Pursuit video and at 3:30 when the CHP officer opens his door, his light bar went solid. This must be a new thing for CHP because I haven't seen this happen before. Maybe in pursuit mode when the siren stops when the door they have it so the light bar can go to a certain pattern. Either way, thought I would pass it along as a nice to have and certainly not on my list (if you cared) as a must have! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGYGXeUpOGI&feature=colike
  21. @NicolaiB Thanks for your reply! I'll take a look at MDC. Are you sure you wouldn't want this in the game? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRRTlrfTw0s&feature=related
  22. I've posted a suggestion here: But another idea I have is that I would like to see the ticketing system moved to the laptop. So after I look up a person, I click write ticket, some of the information is already filled in (name, address, dob, location, officer, etc...) then sections with drop down and option to write in crime committed, and a ini file to control fines and violations (unless write in where you would put the cost). This is very similar to this: http://www.courts.ca...ents/trinst.pdf (Page 32) This would also make the fines more realistic. This information could also be pushed to the stats server and when someone write a ticket, we could click and look at it online. Once I'm done, I would go to hand the driver the ticket, it can either be accepted and paid or they could drive off in anger starting a pursuit!
  23. If you are going for accuracy on your skins, the CA Exempt tags need to be 7 digits and no letters, just an FYI.
