Well, I really want to learn modeling from scratch, just couldn't find anyone to help me yet :P

It is true... I'm one of them (one of the guys that uses what's avilable) But there are also awesome guys like Cj24, KevinDV and corleone that make scratch modeled stuff (and there are even more)

Well, most car modders don't have the knowledge to scratch model vehicles and equipment, so they use what's available. And that are cvpi's, chargers, etc...
