Dear LSPDFR Community,
A few years ago we were involved in a feud that seemed to tarnish our (Wingman Games - Police 1013) reputation here with your members. A lot has happened since then and I wanted to write to you all as a group and ask that we have a new beginning. I think the first thing I want to do again after all this time is apologise on my behalf for anything that was said in anger back in those days that people found offensive. I actually can't remember much about it but it was silly of me to not take criticism so well. I am here to build new bridges with you all and to see if we can't mend old scars. The truth is we are looking for forgiveness and want your support. We have done a lot over the years with Police 1013 and it really is shaping up to be an amazing project. Things have gone slowly but we are now working toward an alpha release and have done so since April this year. Previous years we have spent looking after our investors best interest with a tech demo for them as a proof of concept. That has come and gone now so we are now pushing toward an alpha release.
We understand that for this game to be a success, that we need people like you who love Police games to have more input and more relationships with us. As you know its difficult building a game that is so big in scale and we don't pretend that it's going to be easy. In fact its going to be much harder than you'd expect. However, we know that with support from this community we can and will make it the best it can be.
The support we're looking for takes on a few tiers. The first being the acceptance of our apology. I didn't take criticism too well back in the day and I'm really doing my best to rethink that approach as we lead up to alpha release in the future. The second tier is to acknowledge that there are a lot of good devs here in this community that could become part of our team. Coders, model makers etc are an important part of any game development, so i'd like to ask those of you who would like to put some time into the game to come join us. We have put in a lot of money of our own to build the business and company structure to a place that can accept large investments from outside the gaming community and have gained much respect from leading investors here in Australia. But to get to the next level we need to match that investment within the gaming community via our Project Blue line and soon to be kickstarter campaign to finish the alpha.
I am hoping that for some of you, my apology opens the door to some of you who want to help get this game made. The alpha is currently being made on a 65km Square map size and will reach 100km square on completion after alpha. I don't want to lose the greatest resource we have available to us within your membership and would really like to start building new relationships with you.
I should also say that we're not competing with LSPDFR but we're hoping that we can fill a void that has been open for a long time to come up with a Police simulator that is highly realistic, multiplayer, amazing graphics and less bugs so that both roleplaying communities and those just wanting to play on their own can enjoy. Again, I've made mistakes over the years with a lack of communication and am asking for your forgiveness for that as that was not my intention. We'd like to embrace this community with open arms so that together we can make something special together.
We have a discord channel for those that would like to come say hi to me personally and also enjoy the great community we've built at www.discord.gg/wingmangames I would love to see you guys there and be able to start fresh between communities. I'm doing this because we all want the same thing. I am hoping that by me making the first move in bringing our communities together that some of you might enjoy the challenge of helping us build 1013 the way you want it made. It would be silly of me to pretend that some of you will want to shake the tree in the comments below and I appreciate the fact that this is part and parcel of my willingness to open up to you. All I ask is that you consider the fact that I am just like you. I'm trying to make something for all of us to enjoy and want nothing more than to experience this with you. You can also view some progress at facebook.com/police1013 if you'd like to check us out.
Again, to all of you in the LSPDFR community I apologise for any ill-will against me and take full responsibility for that. I do hope that this helps mend some broken fences.
With Kind Regards
Matt Norman
