Peace reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.2 Announcement + First PreviewFollowing on from the massive debut of LSPDFR on GTA V a mere two weeks ago, we're proud to announce the next installment in the series - LSPDFR 0.2 - featuring not only numerous enhancements and fixes, but also some highly requested features.
Indeed, while originally versioned as 0.1.1, the number of changes introduced in 0.2 seemed too significant to be represented by only a minor increment. LSPDFR 0.2 goes some way in adressing much of the feedback after the first public release and is our first response, pun most definitely intended, to thousands of the comments we've received since then through the forums, YouTube and social media.
From the electroshocking glory of stun guns, to a blast from the past with the LCPDFR style search areas and pursuit blipping, LSPDFR 0.2 packs a serious punch and is a major improvement from our first offering.
Asking for ID in traffic stops - one of the many suggestions that have made their way into LSPDFR 0.2.
For those of you familiar with LCPDFR 1.1, the lack of search areas and blips in LSPDFR pursuits might have been confusing. Fear no more, however, as we've reintroduced the system with much the same aesthetic style as that of before. There are, however, some notable improvements including the way in which each unit in the pursuit is now being uniquely marked on the game's map. This means that the legend at the side of the map can be used to highlight each different type of police vehicle currently involved.
We'll have more to share regarding the features in LSPDFR 0.2 tomorrow, when we'll move away from the pursuits and action sequences, and take a look at how 0.2 brings about better support of routine police work - something I know a lot of people are looking for.

Peace reacted to Scoobz187 in Online Traffic StopI dont get why Rockstar isnt able to release something like a dedicated server version or whatever the heck you call it. If im going to setup my own server for me and my friends its up to me whats allowed and whats not. Thats the only real solution to make all sides happy. The public online GTA:O could stay Mod-free and the private owned servers can do whatever they want. Easy solution for a stupid problem that shouldnt exist. But i guess rockstar is never ever going that way cause this would seperate people from their servers.

Peace reacted to Prophet in Online Traffic StopRight I mean it leaves players to their own devices. I definitely agree with you to the extent that modding in general should be kept from GTAO but I also think that until Rockstar releases a broad statement in regards to "Don't use ANY mods online PERIOD" we the players will never know what their TRUE policies of online modification are. I for one think using a trainer on GTAO defeats the purpose of playing online and should be a bannable offense. On the other hand I think that punishments should be focused on players abusing Money,Cars,Statistic or other players. Then again who am I but just a player though. Anyways I will continue to abide by the Forums rules and not try and start a ruckus over all this. Definitely loved the feedback though ineseri.

Peace reacted to Sam in LSPDFR Future DevelopmentUltimately the limitations imposed by the RAGE Plugin Hook were not made by any LSPDFR developers. With LCPDFR, we didn't provide support for people using cracked versions of the game, but it wasn't like they were entirely cut off by complicated systems designed primarily for that. I don't think it should be the responsibility of anyone in the modding community to enforce Rockstar's intellectual property rights - that should be on Rockstar themselves, so I'm really not quite sure why the RAGE Plugin Hook does so.
As far as multiplayer is concerned, again, I'm not so sure what the point is in trying to stop plugins running online when the problem is already so widespread. If the RAGE Hook was the only script hook for GTA V, some control over multiplayer scripts would make sense as part of an effort to stop the online portion of the game being entirely destroyed. Yes, Rockstar themselves should be doing this, but it doesn't hurt for the people that make the tools which enable this sort of thing to do their bit as well. The problem, though, is that the RAGE Plugin Hook isn't the only way of creating scripts for GTA V, consequently the efforts at preventing online play with scripts are futile as it can easily be done using the other, far more popular, script hooks out there. If anything it seems like punishing people for using the RAGE Hook, almost a bit like three stores being beside each other - one decides not to sell one product out of protest, the other stores continue selling it, and since everyone just goes to the other stores, the protest is entirely useless. Importantly, I think it needs to be recognised that there can be very legitimate applications for online scripts, and I'd very much like to see multiplayer support for LSPDFR in the future.
The nice thing about the RAGE Hook though is that it opens up some interesting possibilities not available by using other methods, such as the perfect implementation of lights but no sirens. There's also some interesting audio functionality in development, including the ability to play specific speech lines, which might prove to be very helpful. Hopefully through collaboration between LMS and MulleDK19, we can iron out some of the initial problems with it and extend the functionality even further.

Peace reacted to warfare32 in What are your thoughts on the very first version of LSPDFR? What would you like to see in the future? My suggestions:
Add compatibility to GTA V Mod Manager (a .LUA file?) This would make switching from singleplayer to Multiplayer sessions a lot easier than deleting files, etc (I don't know if thats necessary in the first place. Just don't want to get banned for having modified files) Add a taser to the weapon wheel. (maybe unlimited ammo?) Add more ammo to the default guns listed. (I think I got low at one point while playing) Increase the range of the Interaction key when trying to get a person to surrender by pointing a gun at them. I've found that people won't surrender unless I'm within a a couple of feet of them, and they aren't running away any more. Spawn more police vehicles at police stations -- just in case you lose yours, and want to switchWith the above suggestion: perhaps allow users to walk back to the police station and change what car they are driving, and maybe just enter the whole menu of options as if you "went on duty" Increase time that the police car stays in your area. I've found that it de-spawns quickly. Add a weapon shop to the police station where users can customize weapons, and perhaps even unlock certain weapons/skins after completing so many missions. Add different types of missions, like the side missions where a person is getting robbed and the mugger is running downtown. Fix the "Shift" key to select a car to pull over. I've found it doesn't work, and it doesn't target certain cars. I think I aggravated a smart car and he was running from me, so it didn't allow me to select him. Also when going under over-passes, I could press Shift and it'd assign me a car that was on the freeway above me. Solution: add some sort of reticle that pops up while holding shift allows you to aim at the car you want to stop. Perhaps it could be worked in like you have a pistol while driving, that if you right click your mouse it brings up the pistol reticle, but instead of shooting, it just selects the car you are looking at, and assigns it to be pulled over. Increase/fix the pop up interaction button when dealing with arrested citizens. I've found its hard to bring up the "have the person sit down" screen and stand up screen. I've tried walking around the person, even walked away, and back towards him, and away, and back again and still couldn't get the interaction screen to get him to sit. Add option to call ambulance to heal/revive citizens. Or have them auto come when a suspect/person dies in your vicinity. Citizens become very scared once you pull your gun out to arrest a citizen, which leads to cars running you and the victim over. I stopped a guy on the freeway, and tried to arrest him. He ran out into the freeway and got hit by a motorhome that probably belonged to Trevor. Another dump truck hit my car, and ran me over, and cars were just creating a mess out of what should have been a simple arrest. So: make the arresting weapon not aggravate citizens, only those its being pointed at (?) I haven't played much of the singleplayer, so most of my map is blurred out/undiscovered. I've found that while driving as a police officer my map didn't discover places as I drove through them. Is it possible to add that in and make it so when driving as a police officer your map reflects the places you've driven through for the first time? Thank you guys for the quick fixes to the bugs on release. I've really enjoyed myself, and even have a few screenshots to share of an adventure I had of arresting citizen and murdering them in a Hollywood trailer: http://imgur.com/a/WM075

Peace reacted to Synthacrat in What are your thoughts on the very first version of LSPDFR? What would you like to see in the future?First off, great work G17, Sam, all the devs. Great mod all around.
Before i get started, I want to let everyone know, this is the first release and I myself was not expecting too much at all. We are all very lucky to have this great piece of art and be able to play it this early.
I want to conduct a pros and cons list that I have seen so far. Most of it will be a bit repetitive so bear with me.
Pros:
- Fancy cut-scene.
- Coffee
- Arrest animations
- Cool traffic stop system
- Selection menu
- Backup menu
- Helicopter keeps up very well and also detects fleeing cars.
- some what non lethal police lol.
- We actually have the mod.
- SAHP unmarked white cars (thumbs up)
Cons:
- FPS drop with the ragepluginhook.exe
- Fleeing cars drive too fast.
- Random dude in the road from a crime scene.
- Force duty for those random script crashes I get.
- Game freeze ends script......
- various other things I can't remember.
What to see in the future:
- running names from traffic stop.
- stopping peds and interacting with them
- Integrated speed radar.
- More callout obviously, anything from a small domestic disturbance, a suspicious person, to muggings and etc.
- Detaining people.
- Less wonky arresting system.
- Increased performance with the rage hook.
Anyways, again, thank you so much for the mod. I really appreciate the dedication and hard work the team put into this.
Sam.............you may now get some sleep. But I expect you up and adam with LSPDFR .2 beta by Monday. Get to work!!! lol.

Peace reacted to Cbeck133 in What are your thoughts on the very first version of LSPDFR? What would you like to see in the future?I know G17 came out with this modification very quickly and I originally didn't expect too much in its first release. I was so excited to hear it was releasing today but found the lack of options and depth annoying. I was hoping for a more in depth menu and options for traffics stops than was it currently in there. I guess I feel a little spoiled since I came into the LCPDFR community late and had the benefit of so many options. Please don't misunderstand me I have nothing but respect for the G17 team for coming out with this so quickly and also know this will be expanded upon in the future. I also wanted to thank the team for all their hard work and dedication, the mod as it stands is pretty smooth no major issues except for the arrest which for some reason seemed really rough. Please keep up the good work!
Would like to see:
* Same basic traffic stops features as in LCPDFR, LPR etc.
* The ability to detain individuals while you search the car.
* Call a K-9 unit to help with vehicle search.
* Ability to inspect trailers, both tractor trailer and vehicle trailers. (Not only to look inside but the exterior for any violation)
* I would also like to see some minor disturbance calls, fights / domestic issues (ability to fine, arrest or ask to leave premises)

Peace reacted to MagnumForce in What are your thoughts on the very first version of LSPDFR? What would you like to see in the future? My suggestions so far after playing for a while:
A marker for your patrol car on the map would be great Maybe add a prompt/option somewhere for clarity on how things work, I was a bit confused when I started the mod for the first time. Ability to clean blood/scars off player Ability to quickly close the backup menu with the B button on XBOX controller, and with the Esc key Possibly some way to stop peds from freaking out and turning a scene into a major accident (I know the peds in this game are absolutely stupid so this might be harder than making the cops less lethal ) Ability to swap out patrol cars at a police station without having to use the RAGE Plugin menu Disable pull-over notifications for traffic vehicles while in a pursuit Auto-backup similar to LCPD:FR's system while in pursuits Add LSFD and Paramedics to another backup menu (possibly on a different page from the code 2/3 we have now) and maybe add the radio use animation to that on foot Start player with a stun gun (not sure if this can be tweaked to not kill peds after they're hit) and of course mashing out the bugs (obviously this is the plan lol)
Criminal peds spawning outside of vehicles in pursuits Not able to arrest some criminal peds sometimes Dead criminals still showing as hostile on the map Overall I was having fun playing earlier and I'm impressed at how stable LSPD:FR is already!

Peace reacted to ThePersian in What are your thoughts on the very first version of LSPDFR? What would you like to see in the future? It's running great so far, though for some reason my game lags a bit whenever I shoot now (may just be the game itself). Most of the improvements are probably already planned by the wonderful dev team. Great job as always
Some improvements I'd like to see:
Your police car not despawning when going to far away from it AI police cars not despawning until a few minutes after a chase so that the officers have a chance to return to their vehicles and drive away (currently they just stand about if their car despawned) Pursuits slowing down a bit - they've all driven so fast (just like others have said) Being able to initiate traffic stops on spooked drivers. Currently, spooked drivers - those that drive really fast once they hear shots - cannot be pulled over at all Ability to change color of vehicles that normally spawn with different colors, like the undercover stanier Police dog, if possible, by using similar dog control mechanics as Chop's Taser Ability to modify weapons, like adding a flashlight to rifles and pistols Unlocking the jail area in the downtown police station If you ever plan on having boat chases, it'd be cool if we could choose the coast guard outfit to wear -

Peace reacted to SAN News in LSPDFR Feature PreviewSAN NEWS >>> BREAKING: Orgy of violence and anticipointment in horrific fifty-five page thread on color of Sam's avatar.
LCPDFR Forums: A thread proclaiming something as boring and lifeless as a 'feature review' for a addon reviewers are already calling 'terrible and disgusting', LSPDFR, is gaining massive media recognition as 'A cesspool of scum and villainy the likes of which have never been seen'. Fifty-five pages of stupid, pretentious and at times downright stupid content over only six days has led that the addon still has some following.
Topics are currently ranging from a 'Impending Doom' warning on the official G-17 status page, something those 'in with the inside joke' claim went on a page like, 4 people view a year, 3 of them being developers, was spotted within 5 minutes of it going up, and LSPDFR creator 'Sam' changing his avatar from 'LCPDFR' to just 'FR' are all sparking more confusion and discussion than this terrible run-on sentence.
ProNoSc0pingSWAT0fficer stated in a interview with SANN: "OMFGWTFBBQ I'M ORGASIMING COUNTDOWN CLOCK OMGOMOMGOMG HALF LIFE 3 CONFIRMED" before running off to rave with his buddies in the thread. LCPDFR Moderation has refused to comment. SAN News will keep you updated as this story develops.
Update 1; We regret to inform you the rioting thread has now reached fifty six pages.

Peace reacted to sportboz in LSPDFR Feature PreviewWell code 3 usually means officers respond with lights and sirens to the scene. Code 2 means lights, using the siren to clear an intersection. Code 1 is responding without lights or sirens. Code 4 means the situation is over. At least that's what it is around where I live.
