  1. Nope there is no story mission. The day thing you see on youtube is just a name some folks use for their videos. As far as the gun thing, only if I was using the handgun when I pressed it. It will replace any weapon you have in your hand at the time. It after all is a weapon now as well. 8-)
  2. Actually in RC2 they did bring back the ability to change the keys. In the script folder the FirstResponse.ini file will let you change the keys if you want. Just be careful, so you don't break your game. If you can live with them, I say leave them alone, but if you have a dire need it should be fine to change them.
  3. Wow ! I have never seen that before either. great now when I play I'll be to busy staring at telephone poles instead of looking for crimes lol 8-)
  4. There was one I tried called gregion. It worked really well and was less laggy then fraps IMO. Though I am using fraps as there was one thing that I didn't like about it. It can only record one audio source. You could have the mic or the game sound but not both. So if you wanted to do commentary it would be out. With that said though since it is free, (and that's what you want) you could always add the commentary later using video editing software.
  5. Well that all depends, if you did a quick format all the data will still be there, its just marked as free space so it can be over written. A full format will gets rid of some data, but still the old stuff can be retrieved. You will only be able to recover any data that has not be over written by anything saved since the format. Its kind of like when you delete a file, the data is still on the hard drive, its just marked as free space. It wont truly be gone until it get over written by new data. Thats one reason why if you get rid of an old computer, you want to wipe the drive vs just formatting it. For those that don't know what happens when you wipe a drive, what the software is doing is filling up the hard drive with 0s.
  6. Sure -Open SparkIV and click "browse" -Scroll down to "pc" and then click audio > Sfx -Scroll down to "resident.rpf" and open it -Click "RESIDENT" -Scroll to "HORNS.ivaud" right click it and replace it with the one you have now -Done!
  7. If we think it could be .net related. The only think I can think to try, is make sure you are installing the 32bit version of .net The 64bit version can remain, (if that is what is installed) Its just LCPDFR and GTA are both 32bit apps so they need the 32bit version of .net. Here is the install you need. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=17718
  8. The only thing that comes to mind is you should rebuild then save.
  9. Are you using traffic fow ? if so in the in file you can change this variable So they wont show up as often. ChanceOfRandomDispatch = 8 I hear 90 is a good number.
  10. I agree with Molten, who cares what you sound like. It is better with I have to admit. Which is why I started doing mine with commentary. believe me I definitely wont win commentary of the year at the academy. 8-) From what I noticed around here though, is no one is going to judge someone by how they sound. This is a much better community then that.
  11. hm what Jay said sums up my thoughts. as per the link by Molten way to go Anonymous, Will they ever learn ? Never ever piss off a hacker as they will fight back.
  12. I have had this happen to me before as well. Like Molton, I always thought I couldn't break in due to ELS, since my lights were on. I will say it happened to me tonight at a shoot out. Was trying to get out fast and ended up doing the EF thing to get out. Afterwords though I was able to get into another cop car that was left behind with its lights on. Still couldn't get back into my car, even later on when I drove by it again.
  13. I love the show as well. I have not seen this one yet, it should be on the DVR. I will be watching it tomorrow eve. I will say though I hated when they had to kill off the one detective, so he could be in true blood. Even worst was that true blood killed him off too, seems that poor actor can't catch a break. Not sure why, but I really liked him better then the one who stayed.
  14. You didn't by chance accidentally remove the ASI loader (dsounds or xliveless) ?
  15. hm interesting. I have thinking of joining a role playing of some short. Still on the fence on if I want to or not. Might be nice to joining one that is just starting out.
  16. I'm bad with the police cars being moded, but I still rarely crash. When I use fraps I get some slow downs, but still no crash. Guess I've been lucky.
  17. This is nice, looks really cool in game.
  18. I use movie maker as well. Tried the Sony one, and I agree it was to much of pain to use.
  19. OK I'll see if I can help. I think this car will do the trick. there is a download link in the discription that is not going to GPM. Note this is not my video. You will have to add the skin but heres a car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hh789DJyyyw&list=UUyoZ90AkQtbctAcXrJC9c-w&index=11&feature=plcp
  20. I agree with others its better with commentary. I'd watch either way though. I know I still struggle with do the commentary on mine, but getting used to it.
  21. Are you using xliveless instead of dsound ? If so the save games are actually in your documents folder. Though the default saved games are in the app data folder, at work now and I can't remember the full path.
  22. hm GTA and LCPD:FR are 32 bit apps so you will need to make sure you install the 32bit version of .net and C++
