G17 Media has closed-source projects as a rule. I'm not exactly sure why you feel like we should be talking about events and exceptions, or giving technical details of the hook, given that very few people would have the slightest idea what that means (as for "how you load scripts into memory," it works exactly the same way as for IV -- replace a DLL that the game will try to load, have your replacement DLL pass through most stuff to the real one but also load all .asi files in the game directory as DLLs and execute their main method; the .asi (which is really a DLL) has a hook as a dependency, and uses a function in that hook to register itself with the game as a script, which causes its code to be executed by the game).
People aren't mad at you because you said something negative, people are reacting because your response sounded like "You're not giving technical details that you never release and that almost no one cares about in your teaser, so clearly you haven't done anything." You will likely not see such a dev page at any point; that's not how the dev team operates. If you ask nicely, there's a chance they'll reply with more technical details, but they're less likely to do that if your tone is how it's been.
I do find it odd how you apparently think they should have faked footage to show what's planned, instead of showing the actual progress they've made. Your reaction was "I can fake that, so it doesn't show me the progress made." That's not how showing progress works. In fact, it's basically the opposite of "really showing progress."

I would love to see you make that video.  It is 100% impossible to do without mods, and still 100% impossible to do with the mods currently available - guaranteed.
LSPD Buffalo and Cruiser - not used in ambient police chases in the game. LSPD in Blaine County. Sheriff cruiser responding to the chase. Sheriff cruiser joining the chase. Player speech + animations. All added by LSPDFR.  You cannot make that trailer without mods.

It's a free mod being developed by enthusiasts, not a AAA game developer. Feel free to ignore any previews or statements regarding the development of the mod if you don't think it's good enough.

It actually didn't disable mods, it just updated some files and now scripthook doesn't work because some stuff moved around. It will probably just take a few days for a scripthook update to release and everything should work again.

So I've noticed for one reason or another many of the new folks (but not all) we've got here are not quite understanding how this site works...
    So in short....
Be patient, and try to be appreciative, and the devs will make you happy :)
They don't charge anything for their service, so complaints are not necessarily warranted.
The moderators aren't paid, so please take a moment to thank them for answering the same questions over and over (Thanks ineseri)
Also... Enjoy your time here, as most people on this site are very friendly and helpful, even when we have our occasional disagreements. Happy gaming to all :)

Not a developer, but the LCPDFR Police Computer was made from scratch, the original in-game computer was never used (atleast not in the mod).

I'd rather not have them put out any time line, not have them feel rushed, and just surprise us.  That does 2 things in my opinoin, keeps the stress off of them to make a product in a given duration, and keeps the tension down on the community if somethings broken (to make a time line) and the hype to a minimum.

Don't know what I'm more excited for - RageHook in MAY!  Or LSPDFR! ... I think both!

Combat is pretty good, a lot better than IV.  You can easily spawn a lot more as well, the game is much more robust.  You can spawn things more than a block away without having to worry about crashes.
    Driving is still terrible though.

I understand, but unfortunately the cops in GTA V do not arrest AI suspects under any circumstances, even when using the designated AI arrest task.  They simply execute people - this is something we'll need to work around, and considering the animation RPFs for GTA V haven't been exposed yet, we really don't know what we're working with from an animation standpoint beside the few that we've found already.
The point remains though, everything in that trailer was artificially created, and I was hoping this would be obvious from the usage of the police cruiser and buffalo, to the speech with matching animations and the different agencies in the pursuit.  Early stages?  Yes.  A trainer-clone like some other mods?  100% not.
Honestly I'm not sure I should even have to get into detail like this.  As far as I know, none of what was filmed can be done by anything other than LSPDFR.  The game has been out for two weeks, and we've been coding for it for little over just one.  I get that people might have had higher expectations from what we achieved with LCPDFR, but LCPDFR didn't even have working sirens on police cars at this point in its development.

A trailer showcasing animations doesn't make for very good viewing, especially not for a first reveal.  Was it a normal cop chase?  No, every entity involved in the pursuit except the player was spawned by and was under the control of LSPDFR.  GTA V doesn't dispatch the police buffalo or police cruisers in ambient chases.  It also doesn't dispatch additional units to the chase either.
Voiceovers?  No, all in-game audio.  Some of it from the AI, some from the player.
Is it, all in all, fairly basic compared to LCPDFR?  Absolutely, but what do you expect merely two weeks after the game was released?
