Performing CPR greatly improves the chance of having the person alive, but, to revive someone, you NEED a defibrillator. If you don't perform CPR prior to using the defibrillator, you have a lot less chance to keep the person alive.

Actually, CPR is highly unlikely to revive somebody (unless it was just a choke due to food or something). You need a defibrillator to have the heart start to beat on its own again, you need an electric shock. While this may look impossible, now that we have medical backup, our own CPR should simply increase the chance of survival for when the paramedics do use their defibrillator. Basically, we cannot revive somebody without paramedical equipment, a defibrillator. Ambulances have them, let them handle that. THOUGH, since you are on scene, CPR should increase the victim's chances of survival prior to have them handled by the paramedics. If you don't do CPR instantly, you will most likely lose the person even though the paramedics are to use the defibrillator. ONCE AGAIN, I don't mean that a defibrillator should be visible, simply a realistic fact of life that only paramedics whom are equipped to deal with cardiac arrests for any reason, not police officers. Police officers, when on scene first of a medical emergency, they only do basic CPR to keep the blood flow in the victim's body.

Update your game. (Also, the black box shows that your game is an illegal copy with a crack. Only pure legit copies will work fully with LCPDFR.)

Excellent thanks, now that you told us that, I just checked in-game and it seems that only the P wants to be displayed, meaning it would be the string that isn't getting correctly passed through the advanced hook or the hook trimming all the characters after the first one (I'd doubt it to be honest). But the new hint now is that the STRING is the problem.

SPITFIRE57 also reports to have the same issue on the GTAForums thread.

It looks like my IP got caught in a range ban. Is there any reason why such a thing happened? Also, I know it because I own multiple IPB boards. I had to use a proxy to get around it and post this topic. My IP is 96.23.235.*. Any help?

You can see it from two sides: 1st, the box is too small to display it all so it displays only the first character. 2nd, the text is only one character long so therefore the box stays that size. Don't know which is better explained though.

I am able to play the last patch easily and without any problems, except for one single little issue. The problem is with the help text in the top left corner. It is so tiny that I can barely see one letter. I can provide screenshots if that's needed. I find it rather annoying though.
