The Final Countdown - LSPDFR Trailer 2
MrMarsh I couldn't agree more with your post. I was hoping that since GTA V is far more stable than IV that we could have a built in option to switch specific parts of the mod on or off so the individual gamer can decide. I agree about the ranking and people trying to drum up who's better but since GTA Online doesn't seem to be an option I don't think this would be a big issue if there is a editable cfg file. There are also work around for clan RP that can be built into a career type mode as well should Online ever get up and rolling. I also hope the team hasn't dismissed these ideas completely. Career Mode: Gives the player the choice choose a department, rank and area to cover almost like a single player game. It will allow the player to work up through a ranking system determined by the development team but will have a config file where players can adjust specifics to their liking. This way they can make ranking faster, or slower depending on what gaming style they like. Also having the option to turn this feature on or off will allow players to decide whether they like it or not. I don't see the harm in it as long as it has a toggle feature and doesn't force players into the RP if they don't want to. As far as RP Clans go the only thing you would need would be the ranking feature with an editable cfg file where they can choose specifics or just allow the players to manually put in their rank according to their own guidelines at the start of the game. Should a stat tracking become available I'm sure that's all you would really need for online RP I would think.

The Final Countdown - LSPDFR Trailer 2
That can be solved in one of two ways. First there can be a unlock all option or even better an option where you can select your rank from the very start. Or both... both sounds good. Actually if LSPD:FR has an option selector you can select a "Career mode" and play through it or just be left with the original unlocked version.

Can you solve this but having a option selector to turn it on or off? Not sure off all the reasons that were discussed but seems to me that it can be a simple toggle to solve that issue. I know many mega type mods (Not with GTA) has an option to have various options on/off depending on the user preference not sure if LSPD:FR can be made to have this option or not.

The Final Countdown - LSPDFR Trailer 2
I know LSPDFR will not have everything on the first release and I'm okay with that I'm sure it will be awesome in any capacity. 1. Can / Will LSPDFR have a character save/customization page that we can save stats or load outs of our officers? I think it would be cool to have several load outs/characters that we can switch between such as an LSPD officer v.s. Sheriff. 2. How will stats be recorded, before it was tracked by the LCPDFR webpage if you linked it but couldn't reset or anything else will there be an in game tracker that we can tie with our profile or keep it separate if we choose? 3. Can LSPDFR have a built in option to have in-game ranking system that you can work your way through the ranks from rookie - corporal - Sgt etc?

I would suggest that you have a very secluded place off the grid should this happen now lol. Now everyone who's still smashing the refresh button will have an anxiety attack with all the what if's :)

What do you want to see more of in LCPDFR?
Lol only in Liberty City will you see more shootouts, fast reckless car chases than traffic citations. Another thing that bugs me to no end is tasing someone 3425 times and they still get up and run.....seriously...I mean come-on...seriously..

GTA IV Problem
Well shiver me timbers, All your .log files seem to be in good order not sure whats causing the crash at start-up. The only and last thing I can suggest is to pm someone who is willing to help, and uninstall all your mods and see if the game will start for you. If not then I'm lost on what it could possibly be. Sorry I couldn't be more help buddy

If an Officer Was in an Altercation and Needed Help, Would You Help?
Very true, many people forget that's why we drill emergency service personnel constantly because they will eventually even freeze from time to time. I'm a volunteer firefighter in PA and I I'm willing to admit there were times that I froze not knowing what to do so like an idiot I just stood there until someone with the right knowledge comes along. However on the flip side I would rather freeze and look dumb then attempt to jump into a situation that is really above my head. However back to the original topic, it again would depend on the situation. For me there would have to be a clear danger to the officer and the officer would not be able to defend themselves. Also there would be a clear opportunity for assisting without causing additional danger to anyone else. Just remember the hero of the "Liberty City Bank Heist" lol

If an Officer Was in an Altercation and Needed Help, Would You Help?
Be careful with that statement, good Samaritan laws will only protect you so far. Example, If you roll up on an auto accident and pull someone out of the car and break their back your not protected. Now if you roll up on an auto accident and the car was on fire and you pulled someone from the car and their back broke then you would be covered since it was likely that the person would result in further injury or death. Below is a link giving a general description on good Samaritan laws but its important to remember that each state views this differently so if you travel a lot don't expect the same rules to apply in another state. As Unr3al stated above its important to know your limitations and know the situation prior to engaging yourself. Finally if you are trained in first aid, CPR etc only perform action to the level of your training, do not attempt to perform Advanced Life Support (ALS) if you haven't been trained to that level because the laws wont protect you. http://www.aaos.org/news/aaosnow/jan14/managing3.asp

GTA IV Problem
Okay so here are the only suggestions I can give, hopefully someone with far more experience and understanding with computers can help you out. 1.) Try taking out the police helper and supporting mods (Coroner and Tow) See if that helped. I know that it may have worked fine before but if a file got corrupted then it may be causing the issue. Just move the files to the desktop and try loading your game. Also make sure if your running Windows 7 to right click and run as administrator. For some reason mine kept freezing on me and now its fine as long as i do that. 2.) I remember some people with a similar issue saying the file Advancedhookinit.asi was causing their computer to crash. Try removing that file to the desktop and see if that was it. 3.) If you have any modded cars and saved them into safehouse parking spot this would also cause your game to crash, however I don't believe that's the issue here. If none of these work go into your main GTA directory and pull the .log files for LCPDFR, Advancedhookinit.log, Advancedhook.log so on and so forth. If you understand how to read the .log files you may find your problem in there. The only other thing I can think of is a memory issue but again I'm no expert in that field. Hopefully this will help you narrow down where the problem lies. Again I hope this helps you in some way. If not im sorry I couldn't be more help.

Is using your personal car legal?
Well I'm not sure what to tell you the department is the one who allows or doesnt allow this type of action. Being a small department if they may allow him to use a personal vehicle then hes allowed. As far as being a strict cop I dont know how any judge would allow him to do what he does. By the law technicly yes he can pull you over and ticket you after going 1mph over the limit. However many courts refuse to allow cops to do this and throw out the tickets because its too easy to say the person just went over for one second. This is where the myth of being allowed to go 5 over limit came from. Many departments require you to be well over the limit prior to pulling you over so there is no question that you were speeding.

What Should LCPDFR 2.0 Have?
Greetings At the risk of repeating many of the same items, here are ideas to improve the next version of LCPDFR. First just let me point out that everyone who has worked on LCPDFR and the supporting scripts and models have done a wonderful job and I love it. · More slow priority calls, or mundane calls. o As many have pointed out most of police work is on the slower side and consists of gathering information and putting APBs on suspects or vehicles. I would like to see a lot more of these types of calls and less of the “action movie” policing. The best way is to have a settings file that will allow the individual to tweak the numbers to their liking if at all possible. · Ability to adjust AI reaction to police. o Right now I feel that the public is way too hostile towards the police, they are way too eager to pull out an AK47 and start shooting up half the town. Some people may be okay with this setting but I for one would like to see less resistance for a more realistic feel. · Taser have a more powerful effect o Seriously after tasing someone five or more times they should just give up already. Currently most of the AI refuses to give up until they are shot dead. In reality tasers after a successful hit or two would bring most people to terms with their fate and give up. I would like to see them cooperate a lot more than they do now. · Under Cover work o I think it would be cool to have an officer undercover where you sell drugs or pick up prostitutes and take them to a staging area where they are arrested. · Rare events o I think it would be cool to pull over a van or large vehicle for a minor violation and find a meth lab or huge stash of drugs, weapons inside making it a huge bust! This tends to happen when a vehicle gets pulled over for a broken tail light and bam. There are a few ideas, now I understand that you may or may not be able to do these. I’m not a modder myself so I don’t know how much you will be able to mess with but I thought I might as well put my opinion out there. Good day everyone -Cbeck133

Officer Report system?
Very true but it could simply be put into a option in the ini file for people to turn on and off right? I'm not sure if it would even be worth the time for someone to make though.

Officer Report system?
Greetings Everyone, So I have been reading a lot of suggestions about how to improve LCPDFR in future versions and many state some of the same suggestions over and over but there was an idea that I would like to put out there that is similar to the ones already given and would like to see if anyone else is interested in it. Many have asked to have a report system built into the game where the officer would write a report on the people they arrest and ticket. I would like to see this implemented because it makes it more realistic that the officer need to write a report after the alleged incident and state exactly what the suspect is being arrested for since we can probably arrest for multiple reasons. This got me thinking of why not take it a step further and implement a saving system so we can view these reports out of game. When we write the report and submit the report we the game could save a file in a specified folded and we could open it with word, notepad or as an HTML document. A similar system was developed for the game Silent Hunter III the program was designed by a fan called SH3 Commander which allowed the game to save the patrols and information in a HTML format and I thought it was pretty darn cool. I’m not sure how easy this would be if even at all possible but it’s an idea none the less. -Cbeck133

Is using your personal car legal?
Greetings, As others have already mentioned there could be multiple reasons why someone would have lights on their vehicle. I would suggest first you look in the states vehicle code book and find the section that talks about lighting. This section would cover anything from police officers, volunteer firefighters, and public services like tow trucks. However its important to note that most likely this section is vague and pretty much allows the individual departments to decide whats allowed, this excludes volunteers and civilian vehicles as these are usually strictly regulated. Second I would ask your friend about the department and more about what this guy does if you want a full answer. If he is part of a specialized unit such at tactical or special task force he might have lights on his personal vehicle so he could respond in a moments notice. I do believe and again this could depend on state and department regulations but if the officer saw a drunk driver swerving on the road he could use his personal vehicle to pull them over and call for a marked / on duty officer to arrive and take over. I believe the sworn oath they take makes this mandatory. Third and final if this guy is a volunteer I would again check the vehicle codes because this section is usually strictly regulated on what is allowed. In the state of Pennsylvania a volunteer firefighter is only allowed to have a light bar that can be seen 360 degrees around the vehicle and if they choose a dash light but must have a light bar. Volunteers are not allowed to have grill lights or any other form of lights in windows as this makes them appear as police vehicles. Fire chiefs as far as I know are excluded from this rule and are allowed to have grill lights. Fire chiefs use solid red lights and takedowns whereas firefighters are solid blue only. This is only enforced if the police feel like enforcing it I have seen multiple violations on the volunteer side but few really care as long as they are not violating other traffic codes or impersonating police. Again each state is different so you need to check your state vehicle codes first. -Cbeck133
