  5. Ford should've revamped the Crown Victoria with a new engine and transmission and then brought the interior and features up to date instead of creating that sad excuse known as the "Ford Police Interceptor" and it's ugly cousin the "Ford Police Interceptor Utility" god why?

  8. Now that's a beautiful piece of machinery right there. I would love to get my hands on one of those but no department around here even has Crown Victoria's anymore and any on craigslist all have had 22s or some other freakishly large rims put on it at one time.

  10. So much changed but, I guess a lot of people either don't care or haven't seen a lot of them up close.

  13. I prefer no side moldings at all. it's weird how many people believe the car was exactly the same from 1998-2011 and can't tell the difference between them even though they changed many things on the vehicles over the years.
  14. The side molding looks like the one used on the civilian Crown Victoria without the piece on the front fenders no idea what they were thinking with that move.
  15. Yeah, I like the look of the 13 slot wheels better anyways. I've had the 2003 for 5 or 6 years and it's been my daily driver and I have yet to have a problem with it other than the transmission and I that happened well after I bought the car it had around 120,000 when I bought it for $800 at an auction and, it now has 181,000 so it's been a great car. I've never had an issue with the paint except for a small patch on the roof that flaked off but I have seen plenty of P71s that have the paint peeling everywhere it seems to mainly affect the white cars but I have seen it on other colors. My 2008 only has 106,000 on it and I got it for $400. I haven't drove it that much since I just replaced the transmission a few months ago but, it seems to be pretty mechanically sound. The 2009-11s have some weird build designs to them since Ford knew they'd be phasing out the Crown Victoria the build quality kind of started to drop off a bit since they started to focus on other productions like the "next gen police interceptor" however, I rarely see any 2009-11s for sale with bad transmissions which is the most common failure on a police vehicle so idk if I'd believe the whole build quality thing.
  16. Yeah the 2003 has the 13 slot rims on the passenger side and the 7 slot rims on the drivers side but I've owned the car for about 5 or 6 years and never had any problems with the wheels plus if the department only had the passenger side replaced they must be fairly comfortable with the drivers side rims too. As for why I bought them it's because they're cheap as dirt and it's super easy to find replacement parts for them which are also cheap as dirt. I've put a ton of miles on my 2003 and the only issue was the transmission went out recently and I guess that can be expected out of almost any car with 181,000 miles on it. The 2008 had a bad transmission when I bought even though it only had 89,000 miles on it. I think the 2008 model years all have a tendency for the transmissions to fail early due to the fact they used transmissions from the 2007 model year and just leaving a transmission sitting for about a year without using it is going to mess up some of the internals of the transmission from lack of use and fluid circulation. They're great cars and can do just about anything they're big enough to haul anything a small truck can, the ride is super smooth it's like you're floating across the road not driving across it, and they have a ton of power and are an absolute blast to just floor it in them. (which is probably how I tore up the transmission in the 2003 that kickdown from 4th gear to 2nd when flooring it is terrible for transmissions.)
  17. At least it's not replacing the transmission I own two P71s a 2003 and a 2008 and have had to replace the transmission in both of them. If you end up having to replace the part check your local junkyard I'm sure they have some Crown Vics and the price will be much cheaper. Hopefully though it'll just clean up P71s are very finicky cars but, they're absolutely amazing to drive no other car like them. I'll attach some pictures of my two Vics the white one is my 2003 and the Blue and Gray is my 2008.

  28. I haven't seen any police vehicles with all blue rotators like these older Florida cars have I think it'd be a nice addition.
