Texture trouble. Please help. Desperate.
Okay, change the -availablevidmem to 1.1 and see if that helps a bit. That worked for me.

Okay, this guide should really help you out with the textures disappearing. http://www.tech-forums.net/pc/f15/gta4-tweak-guide-easiest-way-tweak-gta4-pc-195548/ That guide is full of tips for the commandline.txt which can help improve performance. :)

What do you want to see more of in LCPDFR?
I'd like to play as a helicopter unit. That would be awesome!

Traffic Flow issues graphic problems
Is your computer powerful enough to play? Have you tried lowering the settings to see if that helps? I'm just trying to narrow the possible problems down so I post the right solution.

LCPDFR crashs after calling backup!!!
Try and re-install first. If the problem persists, reply back on this topic and I will post what you need to do to turn 'PreloadAllModels' on.

Traffic Flow issues graphic problems
So just to clarify, your textures begin to disappear after around 20 minutes of gameplay? Which car mods do you have installed? This mod may help: http://gtapolicemods.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=1409 The link is the 'Traffic Control System'.

Okay, I know how to fix the 'stuck settings' issue. You'll need to make a text file called 'commandline'. Open Notepad, and copy this into the file: -norestrictions When that's in the Notepad, save it as 'commandline.txt'. Go to where your GTA 4 folder is located. C:Program FilesRockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IV For me. Place the 'commandline.txt' that you have just made into the 'Grand Theft Auto IV' folder. That should stop the restricted settings problem that you're getting.

LCPDFR crashs after calling backup!!!
Guys, wouldn't 'PreloadAllModels' help? That would load every car model so that they're ready for use. That's found in the 'FirstResponse.ini' by the way. However, I would stick with doing the re-install and if the problem continues, feel free to PM and I'll be more than happy to help you.

Noob to Modding - C#
That's the exact same tutorial I have been using! I've not found much luck from it due to it using methods that I'm not familiar with. I might find myself a complete list of terms/syntax used in the language. That might help me break down sections of code so that I understand it. Basically, as a long term goal, I'm hoping to develop a paramedic/fire services mod which will include models/textures and scripts. I know it wouldn't be an easy task and it would take maybe up to months of work, but it would really improve my skill and experience. It would be similar to LCPDFR in the way that you receive call-outs, but I would never copy it. I would make it my own work and probably keep it personal and not distribute it. After all, the whole project is for experience.

Noob to Modding - C#
Bad grammar is an annoyance for me! I'm a neat-freak! Ahh, I'll take a look today. I'm probably going to spend most of my day playing about with all this stuff. I'll be focusing more on C# rather than any other. I might even have a little look a Java and Java Scripts if I can be bothered.

Noob to Modding - C#
Hey guys, As my goal for this year, I decided that I was going to learn C#. As I want to be a programmer when I'm older, I think that it would be really beneficial to apply the language to what I enjoy at this age: Gaming. I have all the correct tools to help me learn but I need some help to get me going. I've been really inspired by some of the scripts that have been posted in the last few weeks. I want to have a go at making my own along with trying to understand the language more. Although I've had a go at learning it before (I only remember a few things), I want to have a fresh go at it now. Bearing in mind that I'm only 15 years old, would anyone be able to post me a link to some noob-friendly guides/tutorials to help me start out with C#? As I said, I understand a little of the programming logic of C#, but I would like to start again from square 1, properly and deeply learning it this time. Thanks for your time, ScottN. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but I saw that this is the primary scripting forum.

Textures begin to load slow then finally disappear! Help!
Yeah. I'm going to reduce my draw distance but still keep high settings to see if it can cope. I'll post the results later on. :)

Textures begin to load slow then finally disappear! Help!
Hmmm. I'm still gonna buy myself a little more RAM because my Google Chrome seems to have a memory leak... >.< I can't see what's going wrong. The textures begin to load slower when I move around the city. I've disabled the ELS setting which makes AI use ELS, but it hasn't worked.

Textures begin to load slow then finally disappear! Help!
My models are - in terms of ridiculous numbers of polys - fine I think. The thing that confuses me is that the game runs incredibly smooth until something starts to go amiss. I really don't know what the problem is at all. The only other thing I can think of is the RAM. Is 4Gb enough to be handling ELS and stuff?

Textures begin to load slow then finally disappear! Help!
Hello, I've been having a huge problem with my GTA recently which is that the textures begin to load slowly. Textures lose their detail and if I press 'esc', the textures totally disappear. My computer specs are: Intel® Core i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz - 2.4 GHz Performance Rated at: 6.00 GHz 4.0 Gb of RAM Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit GeForce GT 525M with 1Gb of VRAM Realtek High Definition Audio It is a Dell XPS 15 L502X laptop. Mods: I have a few car mods. They are fine at the moment; I went in the LCPD:FR .ini and changed 'preloadallmodels'. I have ELS V6 (I THINK IT'S V6) Indicator script IVDashcam Less Overtaking Traffic Control

Please help, this is so annoying.
Okay, thanks for the support. I don't run ENB so I'll use the other things provided. One little off-topic but still related question: Does ICEnhancer effect FPS? :)

Hello, I am glad to see that your GTA is fixed now! I am having the exact same problem! @Powler, would you be able to send me the exact same links as you did to the original poster? Thanks.

LCPDFR .95 Not working after install of mod cars
I have this problem too. My computer is powerful and runs the game very smoothly until I start to move around the city more. Textures begin to load slowly and things start disappearing.

High Quality Police Sim Game
Very nice! I'll certainly be keeping a very close eye on this game! :)

High Quality Police Sim Game
Sounds VERY promising from the details that you've given so far. I have a few questions: 1) What about the enviornment? Weather, etc. 2) What kind of environments are being added? Will there be different islands with differing weather? 3) Is it a top-down game or 3D? Sorry if those points have been covered in previous posts.

Just for the LOL's
Dude, I play LCPD:FR on a laptop and it runs super-smooth on medium settings. That's all I want/need.

Taser Glitched.
Turns out it was read-only... I'll try again now. Thanks! :D

Taser Glitched.
Hello, I've just recently started playing LCPD:FR again. I've started playing the game how I left it, so there were no re-installs or anything - the game is already installed from previous play. When I press Alt+T, it changes my weapon to my fists and spawns a nail gun. I did remember clicking the bit during the installation to install the taser, but for some reason it doesn't work in game. It just spawns in a nail gun and doesn't fire or anything. Is there anyway of fixing this? I've reinstalled before and it still doesn't work, so re-installing will probably not do anything.
