Lee10 reacted to UnknownBastion in An Apology to the CommunityFrom a personal standpoint, only time will tell with the legitimacy of your apology. While your packs were good, one of the biggest issues I had was the constant removal of your packs, as you mentioned. I would have loved nothing more than to recommend them, but it's hard to do so when they were being removed every other week purely because of a bad review/someone not using their eyes. It kinda felt like you had the community held hostage to the point where only good things could be said otherwise all your content would get removed again. I appreciate the apology put forward and I hope that you will stick to your word going forward and see this as a learning experience.
Best of luck! 🙂

Depends on how they are structured. The auto converter cannot pick it up all the time, so you might have to manually adjust some files.

Lee10 reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.4.9 - Now Available!Lessons from the virtual world, for the real world, in LSPDFR 0.4.9
We're back with another update for LSPDFR 0.4 which introduces a small handful of new features, as well as a couple of changes to the way in which the core pursuit system within the mod works.
Before we get to that though, the key headline of LSPDFR 0.4.9 - and something that we're really excited about - is that we've partnered with researchers at two major North American research universities: Brigham Young University (BYU) and the University of British Columbia (UBC) to explore the real-world research potential of LSPDFR, and the role that it could play in helping to understand how people react and behave in a law enforcement environment.
I know this might sound like a big change from the sort of updates that most of you who follow our work will be familiar with - and it certainly is in many aspects, but this doesn’t represent a fundamental change to LSPDFR itself, nor does it imply any significant changes to the way in which players will approach or interact with the mod. Instead, we've created an opt-in system, similar to the statistics features already integrated into the mod with LSPDFR Sync, where with merely an enhanced level of in-game stats tracking, you'll be able to contribute towards our research with two top institutions by simply playing the mod.
To this end, we've added a new, simple call to LSPDFR that is used to support the survey data by following a more predictable pattern as compared to our traditional callouts within the mod. Note that nothing changes in this regard if you choose not to take part in the study, and you can still play the new call as normal.
The new 'Arrest Warrant' call in LSPDFR 0.4.9 has you query the Police Computer and respond to a suspect's residence.
By gathering together these statistics with the player’s response to a couple of in-game scenarios, we’re hopeful that we can use this data to better understand how players, and by extension, law enforcement might react in certain situations in the real world.
There's more information about our research study over at https://research.lcpdfr.com/ where you can also opt in to take part. I should note that as a thank you for helping with this, the universities have given us a couple of $50 Amazon gift cards that anyone who participates in the study will be entered into a lottery to win.
Changes to pursuits, a new apartment and more interaction.
Back on the topic of the other stuff in LSPDFR 0.4.9, though, one of the biggest changes that you'll notice affects the NPC police response to pursuits, bringing a new sense of variety to the way in which situations can be handled by responding officers. Instead of all pursuits within LSPDFR being treated exactly the same, we've split up the system into two modes: Investigation and Chase.
A new 'confrontation' during an investigation, conducted entirely by NPC officers.
In the Investigation state, we no longer consider a Pursuit to be an actual chase - if that makes sense. Instead, there's a little room for diversity in the actions of the officers and the suspects, rather than just someone running and the officers following. So, in our initial implantation of this we've created a new response scenario where the responding officers will approach a suspect at a walking pace, usually with a hand on their holster. They'll point at the suspect, call out for them to stop, and the system then takes over from there depending on the suspect's response, with the potential the suspect to either resist and escalate the Pursuit into the Chase state (which is what we're all currently familiar with), or for them to surrender peacefully and be arrested without any theatrics.
Moving on from this change, there's a couple of new features that've snuck their way in to LSPDFR 0.4.9 as well, including a new Downtown Los Santos apartment that not only boasts an absolutely killer city view, but is also conveniently opposite the FIB and IAA buildings - perfect for those of you that like your LSPDFR with a side of paperwork and federal bureaucracy.
You can also now seamlessly sit down on most chairs and benches throughout the game world with the tap of a button.

We hope that you enjoy this update for LSPDFR and that you'll also help us out with our new research project, which we think is a really worthwhile opportunity for all of us and something that will be genuinely rewarding to take part in - it's not every day that major universities partner up with a game mod and we're thrilled to be able to take part in this.
If you are having problems with LSPDFR 0.4.9, please do not post about them in this topic, but use the support forums instead.
Before you do, though, read through this topic: https://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/89691-read-will-save-your-time-common-issues-fixes-and-bugs/
There are a lot of fixes for common problems in there.

Lee10 reacted to UnknownBastion in LSPDFR 0.4.8 - Now available!I mean...if the Plugins that a user is using is outdated, then you should. Because it can cause stability issues. That is how Bejo's mods act when LSPDFR is updated, due to the version checker. Heck, some mods that still use 0.3b are completely unstable and should not be used in the slightest with the new LSPDFR version.
It honestly should. It's a very important path to consider when troubleshooting a users issues.
Subtle flex but okay. Still doesn't subtract from the point that I made that the new version of LSPDFR is most likely not the cause of the crash and that you didn't even bother to test your Plugins.

Lee10 reacted to Original Light in Welcome to the new LCPDFR.comThat 2011-2015 theme was iconic, and as much as I have tons of nostalgia for that theme and IPB 3.0, it definitely looks very outdated now.
I wasn't the biggest fan of the previous 2015-2020 IPB 4.0 theme we used, this new version is a huge improvement. Excellent work @Cyanand other Management.

Lee10 reacted to Sam in Welcome to the new LCPDFR.comSince early this year, we've been working on a project to drastically overhaul and improve our website and community by upgrading it to the latest version of the community software that we use, as well as building an all new look and feel and developing enhanced functionality and features. Despite serving us well over the years, our website had become a little dated and disorganized, and bringing about profound changes is something we've wanted to do for a while.
Today, we're pleased to welcome you to the new LCPDFR.com, the culmination of our work on this project, which not only features a ton of improvements, enhancements and changes across the board in Invision Community 4.5, but also introduces a brand new, custom-built by us theme.
Our new theme, LSPDFR Retina and its sister theme, LSPDFR Dark (Beta), are fresh, content-centric looks fit for a modern website in 2020. We've worked hard to prioritize content across the board with a far greater emphasis on images and our members. Aside from this, our new theme features a far brighter user interface with better contrast and more saturation than before which blends in to a simpler overall style.
Please note that the darker variation of our theme is still in beta, is currently only available to registered members, and there are some elements and colors which are yet to be fully configured.
Additionally, there are a number of other changes to the way in which the community works. @Cyan describes these in full in our LSPDFR on IPS 4.5 Changelog, but here's a summary of the most important changes:
Ignore Lists & Blocking
A new opt-in system designed to give creators additional control over their content. Our enhanced blocking system prevents ignored users from being able to comment on and review both gallery images and files. This feature can be enabled in your Account Settings.
Submission Ratings
Files uploaded by members are now automatically screened according to the member's standing within the community, with certain submissions now eligible for automatic approvals. You can view your own rating in your Creator Settings.
Disable Comments
It's now possible for creators to disable comments when they first upload a new file. Please do note that files with comments turned off may not be featured as prominently throughout the community.
LSPDFR Character Cover Photos
You can now add a cover photo to the profile pages of your LSPDFR Characters, check out an example by @LMS here: https://www.lcpdfr.com/lspdfrsync/character/140-kim-orange/
We think that our new website is a giant leap forward for us, and very much hope that you'll enjoy the new LCPDFR.com as much as we have making and designing it for you.
Of course, we're very open to feedback regarding both the new features on the website and our new design, and welcome you to share your thoughts or comments with us below.
Thanks for reading, and welcome to the new LCPDFR.com!
Sam.

Lee10 reacted to UnknownBastion in Asking for HelpI would just say the whole Crash Report is irrelevant. Isn't even worth looking at. Just the RPH Crash Log.
That's easier said than done. 😂
Again, same as above. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Although, it certainly would be helpful if people did read it and do a bit of searching before posting to the forums.

Lee10 reacted to PNWParksFan in LSPDFR 0.4.8 - Now available! That doesn't address whatsoever the question of why they won't load if you're on a newer version of LSPDFR than they were built against - especially a newer minor version such as 0.4.7 -> 0.4.8. It would be trivially easy to have the version checker display a warning that the version hasn't been tested and isn't guaranteed to work, but still allow the mod to load with a warning. Any excuses about it generating excessive support requests are clearly misguided when you look at the sheer volume of complaints and support requests generated by the version lock itself. I offered to Bejoljo an example of how I check versions of dependencies for my mods to provide warnings without locking people out, and he thanked me by banning me from his discord server for the audacity to suggest a simple solution to his self-imposed issue.

Lee10 got a reaction from MattCC16 in LSPDFR 0.4.8 - Now available!@CriminalJustice The literal creator of this mod told you what 0.4.8 consisted of and how to fix any issues with it, and you're still standing by your false argument that this version is causing your game to crash.

Lee10 reacted to MattCC16 in LSPDFR 0.4.8 - Now available!I am running the new version of LSPDFR, and it is working perfectly. Bejoijos mods aren’t updated, but they didn’t interfere with my game. If the game doesn't run or if it crashes, It is standard procedure to remove all plugins and test LSPDFR by itself, at least for me anyway. Or, disable your mods folder or reinstall everything.
I know I probably say this in every post like this, but I am beyond grateful to be able to enjoy these mods from all developers and mod creators. Thank you so much for the time and effort. Thank you to all of the developers and troubleshooters above. I’m going off on a tangent, but I’m humbled to be able to play GTA with the best mod out there.
At the end of the day, LSPDFR is a mod, mods in general are not perfect. Let’s not go blaming people and instead let’s work together.
I felt so inspired to write this :).

Lee10 got a reaction from UnknownBastion in LSPDFR 0.4.8 - Now available! There is a solution, do what Sam and Bastion told you. Also I don't believe you when you say you are qualified for troubleshooting LSPDFR, you can't even admit that it might be plugin issue.

Lee10 reacted to Rich in LSPDFR 0.4.8 - Now available!I have Bejo's mods installed, and even though they're currently incompatible with 0.4.8, my game works fine. No crashes or anything. Thanks for the great work, G17 team.
Is this is an example of your team's way of troubleshooting vanilla game crashes? Downgrading a mod that isn't being loaded? Sometimes it's about quality, not quantity.

Lee10 reacted to PNWParksFan in LSPDFR 0.4.8 - Now available!Remove/disable all plugins/callouts. Simple way is to rename the plugins/lspdfr folder to something like plugins/lspdfr-backup Disable any vehicle mods you have installed. Move/rename the mods folder and the lml folder. Start the game normally without RPH to make sure your game is actually working properly aside from any plugins. If so, great, you can then restart it with RPH. Start up the game and see if you can load into LSPDFR. If so, great - the problem isn't LSPDFR, it's one of your LSPDFR plugins or it's a vehicle you installed causing issues. If you still can't, post your log to the support forum so someone can actually see what might be causing your issues. -
Lee10 got a reaction from UnknownBastion in LSPDFR 0.4.8 - Now available!@CriminalJustice It's funny how you say you're so knowledgeable on LSPDFR, yet you can't do the basic steps of figuring out why your the new version of LSPDFR is not working for you, as I said, this is a you problem, not the mod.
