I find modern lighting setups rather excesive and hence annoying for sight when you are on the road, especially at night. I'm sure there can be a mid point between the primitive lightbars and modern christmas trees...

Fascist police? I just see a friendly cop helping the guy who's on the floor killing a bee he has on his back, he's probably allergic so where's the problem?

I guess we could discuss here about that kind of modding stuff as well, if that's what you mean. Personally I'd be fine with it. Well, the Surete du Quebec had also some peculiar looking lighting setup. Judge by yourself. Thank YOU guys for making this work with your contributions and interest!

Less functional than a regular 4 door sedan, I'm guessing you'd have to dispatch a van as well to transport the suspect. Reminds me to LA Noire. The third one is a Ford, isn't it? Not exactly the same lightbar but the Colorado State Patrol used (not sure if they still do) some weird ass high rise lightbars. Would be fun to see one of these drive under a low bridge...

That's nice! Indiana State Police used 1967 Impalas. There are barely pictures, though. Detroit Police 1967 Biscayne with a weird push bumper. Simple black and white paint job. I don't really get the point of 2 door police cars to be honest.

The Mind-Boggling Classic Cop Car Thread
I'm going to continue posting about the US Border Patrol, this time about the so called 'Project RoadRunner'. (Copy paste straight from SSP Central) In the early 90's the US Border Patrol Tucson Sector had a program called Project Roadrunner. The purpose of the program was to reduce the number and length of pursuits using vehicles quicker than the traditional police cars at the time. The border patrol purchased a Chevy Z-28 Camaro, SSP Ford Mustang, and a Pontiac Firebird for this project. All three vehicles were equipped with Jetsonic lightbars and a roll cage. After the program, the Camaro was sold and eventually destroyed. The Firebird now resides at the Border Patrol Museum in El Paso Texas. And the SSP Ford Mustang was last known to be stored at the Border Patrol fleet maintenance garage at the Tucson Sector Headquarters building as of 2010. Next time, USBP 1980’s vehicles.

Please, let's keep this classic only :) Beautiful Porsche, reminded me of these curious pictures of the day that the direction of traffic in Sweden was changed to the right in 1967.

Few more shots from the USBP, from the 1970's and early 1980's. Agent with a stuck van near Sunland Park NM 1977. Agent at ck.point hwy 54 near Oro Grande NM 1977. Border Patrol check point near Oro Grande NM 1982. BP checkpoint hwy 62/180 near El Paso 1970's. sauce Border Patrol 1977 Plymouth (gotta love the Twinsonic!). There was a former Border Patrol 1976 Plymouth for auction in Ebay but unfortunately it was already over so the pictures and video were no longer avaliable.

Seems like they replaced it with the tail light of an early panther LTD model. I've always found strange old Australian cars. They are like a mixture between American and British, something weird. The front looks like the early 1970's Mustang Mach 1 but the rear is like someth... *mind explodes* Are those actual Chevrolet hubcaps? The look similar to the ones of the Ford Tempo.

The Talbot Horizon (5th pic) was widely used in my country in law enforcement, as well as in Army (at least Air Force) if I'm not mistaken. Here's one of the Ertzaintza, the police agency which enforces the Basque Country, the region where I reside. Anybody knows which lightbar is using? Policía Nacional, which operates statewide, using a Jetsonic. The paint job is the second one they used, which was later changed again. Curiously enough, this agency kept some quite old cars in service until few years ago. In the station of the city I live in they had an old Nissan Patrol and a van I can't remeber which model was. I will create a more extensive post about older police vehicles in Spain in other occasion.

The Mind-Boggling Classic Cop Car Thread
Since we are a fairly good amount of people around here who seem to be particularly interested in classic cars, I open this thread so we can discuss, post pictures and stuff of vintage law enforcement and other emergency vehicles. Hopefully this will turn into something real interesting! I will get the ball rolling with these pictures I came across from 1976 of the arrest of some outlaw bikers by the Michigan State Patrol. Notice the rare pushbar the MSP Plymouth has in the photos above. The only time I've seen it, most of them look like this. Well, enjoy and feel free to contribute! Please don't link pictures to the policecarwebsite.

[REQ] 1980's Chevrolet Suburban
The thing is that there are already too low chances to have the request taken to be asking for different variants. About the LTD, there might be one in progress. I rather not to anticipate things anyway.
