Crizby reacted to DukSezQuak for a gallery image, Another Fatal Accident in SilverlakeAnother fatality in Silverlake this evening, after a pedestrian stepped onto a major highway and was struck by a car. This is the second fatal vehicle versus pedestrian collision this year, and also the fifth fatal event in Silverlake in 2015.
Westlake PD has been called in to perform an investigation around the incident.
"We're not entirely sure the intentions of the individual who stepped into the highway. Whether it was a suicide attempt or a simple accident, it's completely unclear. We also haven't determined if alcohol is a factor in either parties, but we have concluded that speed is not a factor in this collision." said Collision Reconstruction Patrolman Jon Kastro in a statement.
Police are not releasing the name of the deceased until family has been notified.

Crizby reacted to DukSezQuak for a gallery image, Westlake Slicktop/Unmarked CruisersAs part of the Public Education program launched in partnership between Silverlake Police and Westlake Police, Westlake Police have posed all four of their unmarked/slicktop vehicles and provided the photos to Silverlake Police.
With the program, it hopes to prevent confusion between the two agencies as Silverlake Police can be called to operate in Westlake, and Westlake Police can be called to assist in Silverlake.
Pictured here, are two of the four police cruisers that are utilized most when operating in Silverlake. On the far left is a traffic unit, painted grey, with "stealth" stripes. They are hardly visible unless illuminated by a light source.
On the right of the other vehicle is an Investigations Unit, painted white with stealth stripes.
Each vehicle is clearly marked with Westlake Police logos and their respective unit (Supervisor, Investigations or Traffic).
