Eriiaa reacted to Hystery in AI Drivers are ruining the experienceIt's nothing new that AI in GTA games are not the smartest. But it's not just as easy as saying "I'm going to make a mod like that". The AI is hard-coded into the game, you can't really change that. Everyone gets frustrated by how the AI drivers react, but that's just how it is. You just have to play along.

Eriiaa reacted to CriticalBrit in Stockade + Lightbar = EnforcerAnyone able to add a lightbar to the Stockade vehicle present in-game, or figure out a way to port the old Enforcer to Grand Theft Auto V? It would be greatly appreciated as me, among many others I presume, have been looking for a proper lore-friendly SWAT van instead of the new "Riot" van that Rockstar chose for Grand Theft Auto V. Something with the new riot van just doesn't sit well with me, despite it being similar to the Enforcer. I just deeply miss the Enforcer, haha.
I presume it shouldn't be too hard, but if it is, there's no obligation for anyone to do this. I understand that Rockstar made some changes to the Stockade when they put it into Grand Theft Auto V, such as the rambar and windows(unfortunately), but I'm guessing porting the original stockade from GTA IV would be more time consuming than just adding a lightbar to the current Stockade, so I really don't mind what you do.
If you need help with liveries, I'll be happy to assist you.
Thank you if anyone does take this task up - I would appreciate it greatly.
I notice there's already a thread on this, but it seems to be dead. Basically I just want a lightbar on the current stockade as it's probably the most simple to do.

Eriiaa reacted to McGillicuddyAP in Real Police WorkTo the creators,
First off, let me say you have something incredible in LSPDFR. I was one of the first players of LCPDFR when it came out and have been a follower ever since. You guys have accomplished so much in such little time that I can't wait to see what the future brings.
Having said that, I would also like to make some suggestions for future releases that people like me would enjoy and were never implemented in LCPDFR.
I am currently in the police academy here in Florida and have grown up in a police family. While I know many of us love the adrenaline of the car chases and shootouts, such events in real life are a very small percentage of what a police officer experiences. In reality, police officers are social workers/secretaries with guns whose jobs are comprised of 99% paperwork and boring calls and 1% action/sheer terror. I would like to see what I call "real police work" implemented. such as the following:
- ROUTINE calls for service
- Welfare checks
- NON Violent domestic disturbances
- Alarm calls
- Basic thefts (shoplifting, property theft, delayed theft reports for property and auto's)
- Implement some sort of report writing system (not saying we actually write a report, but perhaps before a prisoner transport is complete you have to hit a hotkey to write a report on the incident)
I believe if you were to mix in some of these more basic calls for service, you would go a long way in appeasing the RP crowd like me. Keep up the great work.

Eriiaa reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.2 - The Police ComputerThis is the second part of our LSPDFR 0.2 preview series. For more information about the background behind 0.2, check out the first installment in this series here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/51800-lspdfr-02-announcement-first-preview
I think by far the most hotly requested feature for the next version of LSPDFR was the resurrection of the police computer. A vital tool for those of you that like to add some detail to your patrols - the police computer makes it return with a vengeance in 0.2.
The new Police Computer is capable of searching both license plates and subject names, and will actually perform a real search on every vehicle or person currently in the game. If a match is found, it will then be returned to you via a notification after a slight delay. In essence, this is a very real implementation of the system, and we hope that it will be more immersive than our offering in LCPDFR, which felt fake at times.
The brand new Police Computer featuring both license plate and subject record searches.
Of course, to achieve this sense of immersion, improving the Police Computer itself wasn't enough - we also took some time to boost the quality of the data that it relied on. In early versions of LCPDFR, there were around 15 or so 'funny' names in the entire data pool. In later versions, there were literally thousands of names, all able to be dynamically generated, which was far more realistic, but also gave some really weird results at times. You might go as far as saying that it could feel as though everyone in Liberty City was named by a member of the British royal family or some crazy celebrity parent. At first, we used this same system in the early implementation of the LSPDFR Police Computer, but it simply wasn't good enough and really let down the system as a whole considering the new functionality that was there.
For those of you unaware, we were deeply involved in San Andreas Multiplayer (SA-MP - a multiplayer mod for GTA: SA) in 2012. As part of this, we ran a server titled Fort Carson Roleplay (FCRP), which was essentially a simulation of a small American town, where players could register on the server, make fictional characters and then spawn in the world to do any number of things like run a business, join a gang, be a cop, etc. FCRP quickly became one of the top 175 servers in SA-MP and had something like 12,000 registered accounts. Of course, long after its closure at the end of 2012, the masses of character data from FCRP were simply sitting on an old hard drive, collecting dust. Just a few weeks ago, I moved the data back over and thought that it would be nice to actually do something with it, and the development of the new Police Computer for LSPDFR seemed like the perfect opportunity. Indeed, LSPDFR now uses persona data from just under 3,000 FCRP player characters. We took it a little further than merely importing the names as well, with some other attributes from the server being recognised (making for some interesting easter eggs). The key advantage of this system, though, is that we have close to 3,000 names which were actually made up by close to 3,000 real people. Hopefully this makes things feel more natural, and will give some persistence as well if you see certain people more than once.
We will post the third, and probably final, installment of this update series tomorrow.

Eriiaa reacted to Ponch in GTA V Vehicle Models and ELS?Going on the ELS note - I'd love to see it. People sit and argue that the lights in game are good as is. That's fine and dandy.
Why wouldn't you want the realism of having different flash patterns? Different siren tones? Traffic Advisors? Better looking lights? Different colored lights? It's just a no-brainer to me.
If you don't like ELS you wouldn't have to install it. On GTAIV ELS and LCPDFR went together like Bread and Butter. There's no reason why ELS shouldn't be supported and be desired for GTA V.
Just my two pennies.

Eriiaa reacted to Prophet in Initial thoughts and impressions (0.1 Beta) + VideoJust some of my thoughts on the freshly released LSPDFR Modification in bullet points for your enjoyment. I am also taking in to account this is a beta and my thoughts and impressions are based on that understanding.
Love, Love, Love the Backup/Pursuit AI and Menu. If there was a donation box I would be dropping money in there like no other for the work that must have been done in trying to fix and achieve such a beautiful system. Love the police vehicle selection menu although the filter that is used in the menu has a depth of field that tends to blur out the vehicle I am selecting. Might just have been something related to the development team not having depth of field on while working on the garage. (Refer to video in below @1:25) All the callouts are pursuits (Again this is a beta I know this) I am just hoping for some variety in the near future and making a statement. When selecting a characters HEAD if you left click while on that option it will go through various hairstyles and facial hair. Not sure if this is a glitch or intended either way it works. JUST AN FYI TO DEVS. No TASER why? Would like to see the State police Backup respond more in the white unmarked units than the motorcycles for pursuit purposes. (Motorcycles tend to become primary and cannot ram suspects whilst blocking police vehicles that can) Code 2 backup seems to take just a tad bit too long. I understand it's code 2 cmon. (Really just an opinion) I'm sure the Development team are working on creating a system that incorporates the ability to run people through the police computer/ Call in IDs during traffic stops. Would like a Frisking option or some sort or form of being able to communicate/interact with pedestrians. (Even a simple 'keep it moving' thing) Sprinting causes you to eventually kill yourself from exhaustion thus losing a perp. Either make player run faster or remove stamina limit. After a traffic stop suspects tend to back up a couple of feet before driving off. Hoping its an easy fix. GTA V still loads in random police pursuits which aren't really that much of an issue if you could actively participate in them as though they were initiated in LSPDFR themselves. I.E Backup could still assist and target suspect vehicle. (NOT REALLY AN ISSUE JUST AN IDEA) Would love to be able to grab on an guide detained suspects. (Do love the fact that the player will open back door for collars though!) Would love to see a GPS that directs you to callouts. GAME IS TOO FUCKING STABLE It should go without saying how thankful I am for such a dedicated Development team. I honestly wish I could shake the staffs hands!
Finally a video from me to you which goes through some of my impressions listed above at 108060fps. ENJOY!
EDIT: Minor grammatical errors and some additions to list.

Eriiaa reacted to CG Blaze in Accurate NYPD Pack?I live just outside NYPD jurisdiction, and a while back I assembled a pack to use for multiplayer that in my opinion was as close a representation to the stuff I see on a daily basis as possible. If you're interested, I could zip it up and PM it to you. I also have accurate ELS v7 setups for most of these vehicles as well.
Additionally, I've been working on some LCPD renditions of various NYPD RMP's (everything from School Safety to Highway Patrol divisions). Again, if you're interested, I'd be glad to send some your way as I finish them. I'm hoping to release a whole megapack of NYPD based skins in the near future and I could use some feedback.
